Here's To The Heroes
Lest We Forget
A Final Word

We do hope that you have closely read the pages of last year's record (Concerns In 2010 - I & Concerns In 2010 - II) and have also seen the pages for the previous years.

   It's a lot to plow through, but there has been so much damage done and you really do need to see what it's all about.
It will have a major impact on you, your loved ones and our entire nation.

   And so here we now offer you the first half of 2011.  Let us hope that we will not only manage to survive it --- but that you will decide to roll up your sleeves and become a part of the solution.

NOTE:  The content for each month is added in the early part of the following month.  You'll want to follow it as it builds throughout the year.

Another Year of Decline? (2011)

   Jan., 2011.  We are all most painfully aware of the terrible event that took place in a shopping area parking lot just outside of the city of Tucson, Arizona.

   In the early part of this month, a mentally deranged 22-year-old, Jered Lee Loughner, followed his predisposition of anger, public disruption, with inspiration from "Mein Kampf" and "The Communist Manifesto" and shot 19 people, killing six, including a Democratic Congresswoman and a Republican judge.

   Immediately, a very large segment of left-wing politicians, wanna-be spokespersons, and liberal print and broadcast news haranguers rose up in mass to claim that conservatives were somehow to blame for the whole thing.

   We ended up being pummeled by the likes of propagandist Paul Daly of the New York Daily News with such choice comments as, "The blood of Congresswoman Giffords was on Sara Palin’s hands."  The shameful Paul Krugman of The New York Times was no better.  He wrote, "Where’s that toxic rhetoric coming from?  Let’s not make a false pretense of balance;  it’s coming, overwhelmingly, from the right."

   Balance?  Looks like someone fell off the seesaw.

   Was it convenient for him not to pay attention to the threats from the left to kill white babies and all the rest of the horrendous verbiage from that quarter? I guess, in his strange world, the much more mild-mannered conservatives are horrifying beyond belief.  I could only imagine that he must inhabit some far away alternative universe.

==========================

   The left’s eager trounce upon conservative America for the responsibility of that severely and dangerously deranged left-of-center killer in Tucson — this very shameful performance is not new.

   Those of us who remember President Kennedy’s assassination, also remember how the left immediately suggested a right-wing plot, until Lee Harvey Oswald, a pro-soviet, Cuba supporting left-winger, was finally shown to be what he was.

   Then and only then did they stop the blame game.  After all, we don’t want to turn around and suggest a leftist influence for the terrible event, hmm?

   And who was it who shot the President’s brother?  And what about the attempts on Reagan and Ford?  Was all that some sort of right-wing plot?  Unfortunately, not many on the left will pay attention to history.  It’s not convenient for them.

==========================

   And just where might we find some of that violent talk?  A few of the many examples were published by The Washington Times, including the one where we find, "Senator John Kerry, Massachusetts Democrat, joshing with Bill Maher about how ‘I could have gone to 1600 Pennsylvania and killed the real bird [George W. Bush] with one stone.’ "  And there’s the one about the, "...then-Rep. Paul Kanjorski in October saying (as Jeffrey Lord first reported in American Spectator), ‘That [Rick] Scott down there that’s running for governor of Florida, instead of running for governor of Florida, they ought to have him [sic] and shot him.’ "  Kanjorski, a Democrat, lost the election to Rick Scott.

   It was then later noted that, "Mr. Kanjorski resurrected marvelously.  He appeared on the op-ed page of the New York Times, counseling on the proper response to the Tucson shooting."  How nice.

==========================

   Bernard Goldberg, an ex-CBS reporter and media expert commented on the Fox cable news channel about the Tucson massacre.  He said, "I can’t remember when in the media they have been so corrupt and so cynical.  The wounded are still bleeding, and they’re making political hay. ... In all my years as a working journalist, I’ve never seen such a shallow, thoughtless, agenda-driven drivel as I have in the past 36 hours."

   Oh yes.  It gets worse.  As the WSJ reported, "Politico, the Beltway website, chimed in by quoting a ‘veteran Democratic operative’ advising the White House ‘to deftly pin this on the tea partiers,’ just as ‘the Clinton White House deftly pinned the Oklahoma City bombing on the militia and anti-government people’ in 1995."

   Isn’t Democratic politics wonderful?

==========================

   Some additional comments to look over include: "Dem. Rep. Clyburn: ‘Reading of the Constitution’ contributed to the climate of the Arizona shooting." (From - The Patriotic Action Network).  "Those who purport to care about the tenor of political discourse don’t help civil debate when they seize on any pretext to call their political opponents accomplices to murder." (From - The Wall Street Journal).  And then we hear about a play in the Missoula Montana Children’s Theatre where they added an interesting little scene which we understand calls for the beheading of Sarah Palin.  And let us not forget the left-winger Fraces Fox Piven calling for a violent revolution in the new year.

   What on earth is happening to us?

==========================

   They say every drama needs a clown.  Well, it would seem we’ve gotten a pretty sad one — a real "Dupnik."  That’s the one — the Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik.  It was in his territory where the previously threatened but unguarded Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and so many others were shot and six were killed, including a little girl.  It was his office that paid no attention to the problem.  Of course the shooter’s mother was employed by the same county government, so possibly the extensive Sheriff Department records on her son, leading up to the tragedy might more easily have been overlooked?  We wonder about that.

   Did Dupnik shoulder the responsibility for his inactions? — just the opposite.  He blamed the state of Arizona as a "mecca for prejudice and bigotry."  As Michelle Malkin reported in The Washington Times: "Dupnik baselessly suggested that the shooting was a part of a larger conspiracy and railed against ‘vitriol’ from limited-government activists who are stoking ‘anger against elected officials.’ "  He also verbally went after Rush Limbaugh and so many others on the right.

   When more seriously questioned by Fox News and a few others, he finally admitted that he really didn’t have any proof to go with any of his highly charged statements and he even reluctantly admitted that the shooter had a record with his office of previously made death threats.  So, it would seem his extensive vitriol was more a matter of misdirection away from his own failed responsibilities.

   Very interesting.

==========================

   As a footnote to all of this, Patriot Action Network reports that, "J. Eric Fuller, a survivor of last weekend’s shooting massacre in Tucson, gained national notoriety this week after claiming shooter Jered Lee Loughner got conservatives Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin their ‘first target.’ "

   The part of this story that didn’t get any attention was as reported by the Patriotic Action group, "On Saturday morning Fuller met Trent Humphries (a Tucson-area tea party leader) during a town hall-style event hosted by ABC’s Christianne Amanpour that featured family members of victims, Tucson citizens and community leaders.

   Toward the end of the meeting, the local news reported that Fuller objected to comments made by Humphries and by Arizona state Rep. Terri Proud, a Republican.  In response, Fuller took a photo of Humphries and told him, ‘You’re dead.’ "  He was quickly escorted by security from the event.  You didn’t know about that?  Well of course not.

==========================

   The problems with the new healthcare mess go on and on. As CNS News tells us, "The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) reports that Social Security will effectively run a $45 billion deficit in 2011 (this year) and continue to run deficits totaling $547 billion over the coming decade."  And Peter Landers tells us, in The Wall Street Journal that, "Health spending rose to a record 17.6% of the U.S. economy in 2009, as the overall economy shrank and higher federal Medicaid spending helped to push up health costs."

   And Herbert Pardes, president and CEO of the New Your Presbyterian Hospital tells us that, "We can’t insure 32 million more people and cut funding to train doctors by $60 billion."  We can’t, but that seems to be what we’re doing.  It can only end up with a disastrous doctor shortage.

   Things have gotten so bad in so many areas that Obama’s Secretary of Health and Human Services has had to, "...begin granting waivers to companies that provide workers ‘mini-med’ coverage — low cost plans with low annual limits on what the insurance will pay out.  This followed announcements by some employers that they would have to drop these plans because they did not meet the new health law’s requirement that 85% of premium income be spent on medical expenses." (WSJ)

   How did that end up?  The headline expressed the natural and expected conclusion: "ObamaCare Rewards Friends, Punishes Enemies," as clearly outlined by Karl Rove.  And then we see that now 26 states have joined the Florida lawsuit against ObamaCare and then we read the headline in The Washington Post: "House votes to repeal health-care law."

   As it was expected, everything is coming unraveled.

==========================

   As the month develops, the WSJ headlines aren’t very promising. "Weak Hiring Casts A Cloud," "Texas Confronts Budget Travails As Revenue Slows," "Downturn’s Ugly Trademark: Steep, Lasting Drop in Wages," "Rising Price Pressures Spur Concerns," "Deficit Outlook Darkens," and "Data Shows Continued Strain on Economy."

   And you can add to that the uncomfortable statistics of U.S. bankruptcy filings rising 9% in 2010, beyond the final figures of the previous year, and an emergency session in Illinois to push a 75% tax hike on the people of that state (before state Republican legislators have had a chance to be sworn in).

   And let’s not forget what we found out on Fox News about $600 million being paid out in assistance to illegal aliens’ children recently, with a total that seems to have reached an astounding billion dollars per year.  Where?  In Los Angeles County in the state of California.

   And now we are hearing how the housing crisis is negatively impacting many already hard-hit cities in America to the degree that the Mortgage Bankers Association feels such cities can expect a very long and difficult road to recovery.  And we find that lending institutions, such as the Bank of America, are doing what they can to shift burdensome costs over to the hapless borrowers.

   All of this in concert with the release of the 2011 Index of Economic Freedom which shows the United States behind such places as Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Canada, Ireland and Denmark.  That’s right.  That’s how far we seem to have declined.

==========================

   As Peter J. Wallison observes, the government’s flawed and failing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac real estate finance fiasco was never a good idea, and other nations have known that for several years now.

   It might also be added that Mr. Wallison, a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, took the time to research this interesting finding.  He has found that other nations’ experience shows this uncomfortable fact most vividly.

   Other areas where we don’t seem to get it right were amply shown in Jim McElhatton’s observation about our equally flawed federal workers’ compensation system (as reported in The Washington Times), "More than 100 U.S. Postal Service employees over 90 years old are collecting workers’ compensation — a fact one U.S. senator calls troubling, arguing that workers ought to be moved to retirement rolls for which payouts would be less expensive."

   Any other nice examples of how well we’re doing?  Well, we are now hearing about the 3.8% sales tax (after 2012) when you sell your home.  That’s $3,800 on a $100,000 home or $15,200 on a $400,000 home, etc., etc.  That’s what we’re hearing.  You didn’t hear about that?  It’s in that health care bill that nobody had a chance to read until after it passed.

   And then there’s that Obama crackdown on coal production (courtesy of the EPA).  That will really help us solve our serious energy shortfall, won’t it?  Sure.

   These things just keep keeping on, don’t they?  So there’s really no surprise when we read the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission’s draft report and find that the 2008 financial crisis was actually avoidable and that the responsibility lies in the much soiled hands of government officials and with private-sector opportunists as well.

   We would have expected something different?  Just about everything has turned into an absolute mess, according to growing numbers of public voices.

   So, what can be done?  Moderate political and citizen responses indicate that any increase in our debt ceiling should be accompanied by major, significant action to reduce the size and cost of our monstrous federal government.  In smaller jurisdictions we find such efforts as with the Orange County, California government having moved to a hybrid solution that combines county contributions with that from the government workers, for both a traditional benefit pension and individual accounts, which employees can bring with them from job to job.

   It’s a new idea for newly hired workers.  It doesn’t solve all the problems but possibly it’s a start.

   Another suggestion comes from David Skeel, a University of Pennsylvania law professor.  He believes we should seriously consider the passing of a federal law that will make it possible for states to declare bankruptcy.

   There are forms of bankruptcy that should allow for a serious fiscal reorganization that could enable the renegotiation of some of the currently unchangeable state obligations that have done so much to destroy the financial stability of so many of the states.

   Meanwhile, Andrew N. Liveris, the top man at Dow Chemical has seen how we have allowed so much of our manufacturing capacity to either evaporate or move overseas, as China and others have moved forward.  He says we need a new national strategy to rebuild our formerly great manufacturing base. (See his book, "Make It In America.")

   So far, all that we have mentioned and the elective changes in Washington may have helped to encourage our economy at least a little bit. But now we have to roll up our sleeves and start making thing happen — now!

==========================

   As America tries to deal with its problems (sort of), we find inflation rising in Europe as the Central Bank (in Europe) issues a warning about the rising prices of food and raw materials.  And we hear that the UKs economy shrank with a .5% drop in the GDP (Gross Domestic Product).  And, as we have seen, in many parts of Europe, segments of the population have not been taking the required lining adjustments well at all.

   It’s not a pretty picture.  Let’s hope this won’t be the beginning of a pandemic reaction.

==========================

   We all know about the gradual government takeover of the Internet, one of the last bastions of financial freedom left in America (after the government’s corporate and banking takeovers, the moves by the FCC, the FTC, etc., etc.).  Now Capitol Confidential reports that, "Rep. Marsh Blackburn introduced legislation to deny the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulatory oversight over the Internet, which the Tennessee Republican insisted was the ‘sole prerogative of Congress’ to administer."

   And we notice that Verizon is asking the court to overturn that FCC Internet grab. And we hear there are other efforts in the wings.

   Well, the legislation may pass the House, but what about the Senate? And if it ever should pass in the Senate, what about the looming shadow of a presidential veto?  This will be interesting to follow.

==========================

   Ethical behavior seems to have become quite a joke.  The House ethics committee has backed away from an investigation into extensive spending by six congressmen (mostly Democrats), during their overseas visits.  It seems the committee finds the "rules" involved with the money confusing and they can’t find the evidence anyway.  How convenient.

   And FEMA, "...hasn’t tried to recoup about $643 million in improper payments made to victims of Hurricane Katrina and other disasters, in the wake of a judge’s order more than three years ago." (From an Associated Press release.)

   And we find the President picking the GE CEO, Jeffrey Immelt to be his advisor on job creation — a political choice of a man who has used his corporate operations (such as NBC) to politically promote Obama and support his conduct at every opportunity.

   And then there are his government contracts and there is his policy of transferring jobs overseas, and so many other things that don’t seem to add up correctly (if you know what I mean).

   But then, the records show this choice is consistent with so many other choices made.  It has been suggested that there is an enormous amount of work ahead, to turn things around to a place of reasonable integrity with the way we do things.

==========================

   The left-dominated elements in our American media never give up.  This month "Newsweek" (a failing national magazine) features the cover headline "American Assassin" and then shows a nefarious figure draped in an American flag.  It is yet another example that not so subtly suggests that patriots are somehow responsible for that terrible shooting event in Tucson by that obviously extremely deranged, left-wing killer.

   Of course the left-of-center media didn’t have much to say (if anything at all) about the assassination attempt against the governor of Missouri not so long ago.  I wonder why.  Could it be because the perpetrator was an individual that is even much more obviously a resounding leftist?

   I wouldn’t be surprised at all if you haven’t heard a word about that in the lame-stream media.  Well, at least the left doesn’t win out in every direction and on every issue that comes up.  The new "sex channel" MTV, has gone the way of the formerly more restricted "adult" channels for some time now, but their newest show "Skins" has gone all the way to kiddie-porn, as described by many angry parents and even by some TV critics.

   It seems to be trying to portray every perversion, every substance abuse, every sick behavior they can cram into that program, filled with very young teens.  Thankfully, the initial audience is reported (by Nielsen) to have slipped to 51% of its premier showing.

   And, thankfully, a notable number of the advertisers have also fled the crime scene.  This includes "Subway," General Motors," "Taco Bell," and "L’Oreal."  MTV and Viacom have much to be ashamed of.  They certainly don’t seem to have a conscience on such matters, but perhaps an appropriate hit on the wallet will eventually make an impact on their behavior.

   We can only hope.

==========================

   With the advent of the new kids on the block (in Congress), there seems to be new attention to our great American instruction manual — our Constitution.

   I recall, at various tea party events, the hand-made signs that say such things as, "Somebody, please put the Constitution on Obama’s Teleprompter."  And then there’s that inspirational reading of the entire Constitution on the floor of the House chamber.  I’m sure that disturbed some, but it most certainly did call attention to a new day and a new direction.

   Part of that new direction can be seen in the promise of the new Republican majority to require lawmakers to cite specific Constitutional authority for bills that are introduced in the House of Representatives.

   Meanwhile, with all the great, new ideas blooming in the springtime of the new session, Harry Reid and most of the other Democrats are fast becoming the "party of no."  And, as the RPC minority Senate policy committee has reported about the controlling, majority Senate Democrats, "Many Democrats have indicated that they prefer to ignore the election results, shut out their Republican colleagues, and — on a party line vote — rewrite the Standing Rules of the Senate to dramatically curtail minority rights, to make it easier to pass an agenda the American people rejected."

   Of course Congress is now routinely sidestepped with Obama appointments when Congress is not in session.  It would seem, in just about every way possible, legislative jurisprudence has been thrown out.  So it would seem.

==========================

   On the "education front line" the battle rages on.  More changes and eliminations continue to be initiated in the textbooks and with other teaching tools to reflect even better the "politically correct" ideology of our current national administration.

   This is exampled with the newly censored editions of "Huckleberry Finn."  And the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports, "Julie Scullen, a reading intervention specialist at Northdale Middle School in Coon Rapids, MN ... is leading the charge at her school to make more Muslim-centered literature available to students.  She even used $800 in federal funds to make that happen, ordering books such as ‘The American Muslim Teenager’s Handbook.’ "

   And what about the Bible and other Christian books on that particular lifestyle?  Oh, no.  We can’t have that.  That is forbidden.

==========================

   At a recent annual convention of the National Education Association, the largest and most powerful teachers union in America, we find that the job of actually teaching our children the normal "three-Rs" seems to be the last thing on their minds.

   Hillary Clinton, the organization’s general leadership delegates, and many others stood shoulder to shoulder against school vouchers.  And many went much further than that.

   By way of example, former Senator John Edwards also proposed that the federal government should pay the college tuition for all students who are willing to work for at least 10 hours a week. (And guess who will pay for that?)

   And Congressman Dennis Kucinich wants a universal "big brother" pre-kindergarten operation for year-round daycare for all children, from ages 3 through 5. (Our children will become wards of the state?)

   And we find the NEA demanding a tax-supported, single-payer health system for all residents, which of course includes illegal aliens, I am told.

   And they are also calling for an immigration reform which will clear the way for citizenship or asylum for illegal aliens.  They also want special rights for those involved with various sexual deviations and a full presentation of the gay rights agenda in our public schools.

   And of course they support abortion and are firmly opposed to any requirement for a voter ID at polling places for elections, and are firmly opposed to right-to-work laws in America.

   And they don’t want the testing of teachers as a criterion for keeping a job, getting a promotion, qualifying for tenure or as a factor in the setting of salaries.

   And on and on it goes with demands for no interference from parents over their sex education programs and no home schooled children are to be allowed to participate in public school sports, etc.

   This is the NEA.  And you wonder why our educational system is such an abysmal failure?

==========================

   In other educational news of interest, the Associated Press reports that, "A second-grade teacher in Northern California was placed on leave while a school and police investigate accounts by students that classmates engaged in oral sex and stripped off some of their clothes during class."  It was further noted that, "The investigation was under way at Markham Elementary School in Oakland (California), where the principal notified parents of the situation in a letter."

   Other educational news includes the observation of the teacher pensions by Joel Klein, a former chancellor of the New York City public schools and the current head of the News Corporation’s educational division.  Among a number of things he exposes concerning the pensions: "Defined-benefit systems (The teacher pensions) aren’t merely Ponzi schemes, they discourage talented teachers who would prefer front-loaded compensation."

   It was also reported by The Wall Street Journal that, "Universities are falling down on the job, a new study attests, failing to teach America’s college students the critical skills they need to succeed throughout their lives.  The study, summarized in the new book, ‘Academically Adrift’ and in a paper from the Social Science Research Council, tracked several thousand college students’ performance on a critical-thinking test from their first year on campus through their fourth year.  Some 45% of students showed no significant improvement after two years of college, and 36% didn’t improve after four years."

   This and so much of the rest of what we are learning about our educational system make it crystal clear that this is one more area of our nation that is in very serious trouble.

==========================

   Well, Obama said he would cut back on the federal government.  So what did he do?  He decided to cut a tiny little bit off the massive national debt he had saddled us with and cut-backs were started in the one department that should not only not be cut — it is one of the few places that are in dire need of expanded operations.

   As reported by The Wall Street Journal, "At the Justice Department, officials are considering whether to shorten some federal prison terms and have already shut down a program that successfully encouraged fugitive criminals to turn themselves in."

   Wonderful.  Just the opposite of what should be done, as usual.  And, to add insult to injury, the Washington Times finds that, "The Justice Department prosecutor who led government efforts to prevent a number of serious security threats to the nation, including the attempted bombing of Times Square, the al Qaeda plot to bomb the New York subway system and the attempted detonation of a bomb aboard an airliner on Christmas day 2009, announced his resignation Jan. 13."

   If you weren’t sure about a serious deterioration of law and order in America up to now, might you finally be willing to consider that possibility?  I hope so.  Only when recognition replaces denial can we ever hope to take the first steps on the long and arduous journey back home.

==========================

   We all saw the news and read the headlines about the revolt in Egypt.  We saw the shouting crowds.  We saw the violence. And we were told that the Egyptian government pulled the plug on cellphone communication and the Internet in that troubled land.

   It is an ability that Obama has seen to it that he now has in our own sometimes troubled land.  It should also be noted that The Telegraph, a British paper, has published (in great detail), "The secret document sent from the U.S. Embassy in Cairo to Washington, disclosing the extent of American support for the protesters behind the Egyptian uprising." (Info. available at Telegraph.co.uk)

   And we are seeing that this is most certainly encouraging the "domino effect" throughout the Middle East, as seen in many dispatches, including one from the Associated Press that reads as follows: "The leader of Jordan’s powerful Muslim Brotherhood warned that unrest in Egypt will spread across the Mideast as Arabs will topple leaders allied with the United States."

   If this happens, you know the massive oil price increases that will result.  And you know what that will do to the cost of just about everything and to the general inflation rate.

   And you know what will happen to us then, don’t you?  It will most certainly result in a chaos that Obama and his cohorts will be only too happy to take full advantage of.  That’s the progressive scenario we understand can be expected to be executed.

==========================

   In Mexico, the drug war has destabilized the entire country, with a death toll that rose to over 15 thousand last year, and it looks no better for this year.  That’s a figure that is higher than we have for our combat fatalities in Afghanistan and which we had in Iraq during the war years there.

   And the violence is spilling over into the Southwestern United States to the extent that it has been necessary to place big warning signs about the dangers in our southern counties and national parks near the Mexican border.

   So, what is the answer?  For Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, the answer seems to be to announce that the border areas are relatively safe and to scrap the entire program to build a high-tech fence along major parts of our border with Mexico.  Is she on the same planet that we are?  Evidently not.

==========================

   As the "Muslim problem" grows all over the world, we get word that there is a mosque in Orlando, Florida has been involved with Hamas (terrorist) fundraising efforts and that this fundamentalist proselytizing has been found to be growing throughout the American West.

   And there is also new information that seems to suggest that the new "ground zero" mosque Imam, Shaykh Abdallah Adhami, has notable past connections to terrorist supporters.

   This is evidently just one more thing that cannot be expected to be dealt with during the Obama administration.

==========================

   Without much of a thought for the security and drug issues involved, the current administration is pushing forward with its plans to allow Mexican trucks to roam the U.S. highways.

   And while that is happening, we are told that China’s leaders have come to believe Obama’s comments about the U.S. not being exceptional and that we must be prepared to accept inevitable decline.  As a result, we see signs of a notable Chinese insurgence toward extensive global influence.

   And our commander of the U.S. Pacific Command has made a disclosure (as reported by The Washington Times), which states that, "China’s military is deploying a new anti-ship ballistic missile that can sink U.S. aircraft carriers, a weapon that specialists say gives Beijing new power-projection capabilities that will affect U.S. support for its Pacific allies."

   All of these things represent elements of major instability for our nation, according to growing numbers of security professionals.

==========================

   In California it is now against the law to sell any newly made, normal sized, incandescent light bulbs and next year it will be the same for the rest of the nation.  In its place, you will have to purchase the much more expensive, deadly, mercury-filled curled-up fluorescent lights.

   But be very, very careful.  We all realize how we can drop a lightbulb from time to time.  If you break one of these new ones, you could risk mercury poisoning.

   Think I’m kidding?  Check the facts for yourself. This is some of that "change" we were promised.

==========================

   The massive takeover of America is picking up speed. As reported in the Wall Street Journal, "The EPA violated every tenet of administrative procedure to strip Texas of its authority to issue the air permits that are necessary for large power and industrial projects.

   This is the first time in the history of the Clean Air Act that the EPA has abrogated state control, and the decision will create gale-force headwinds for growth in a state that is the U.S. energy capital."

   It was further stated that, "The EPA claims its takeover is a matter of great urgency, but Texas is being preemptively punished for not obeying rules that don’t exist today because the EPA hasn’t finalized them."

   And it’s going to get worse.  As Grassroots Action has noted, "It is now widely reported that President Obama plans to use Executive Orders and federal regulatory agencies to sidestep the Republican-controlled House."

   An amazing history is unfolding before our eyes.  It is the metamorphoses of our federal government into a criminal entity.  We told you these sorts of things had a good chance of happening.  Now you are seeing them happen.

   Obama has given them the green light so now the labor unions are on the march — with a vengeance.  Some example skirmishes include the National Labor Relations Board threatening to sue not only the state of Arizona (which is sued by the federal government every time you turn around), but the states of Utah, South Carolina and South Dakota as well.

   Why?  Because they dared to pass amendments to their state constitutions requiring a secret ballot of employees in those states before companies in those states can be unionized. You see, that goes against the "card-check" procedure which would allow union thugs to see how everyone voted.

   And the new United Auto Workers union chief, Bob King, has presented what he calls "11 Principles" that he demands auto manufacturers must agree to or the union will publically charge them with "human rights" violations.

   Is this the beginning of the end?  No, it's not the beginning. We’re well on our way.  Things have gone far beyond the beginning stages.

And On And On It Goes

   Feb., 2011.  This is the month when the unrest we have been seeing in other parts of the world has begun showing up in America with a vengeance.  The bosses of the big, public employees’ unions and other associated left-wingers have begun the demonstrations, often in rather forceful and nasty ways, and demanding their membership be allowed to have grand and expensive benefits without paying an appropriate share for such benefits, as everyone else must do in the private sector.

   This type of demand and demonstration began in a major way at the state capital in Madison, Wisconsin, from where we received the following frightening on-the-scene report: "The police have advised that we lock our doors. Groups of youths are marching through the halls, yelling at the top of their lungs, drums are banging, etc. Restrooms are blocked. We had vandalism yesterday.  Elevators are blocked. Angry crowds are pounding on our glass windows.  Please pray for our state." (From the Wheeler Report.)

   There were also peaceful demonstrations and other support in favor of the legitimate Wisconsin state government and its governor, Scott Walker, but there wasn’t much said or shown about that in the restrictive general media.   And then the necessary number of key Democrats in the state legislature fled the state so that the "quorum" number required for the state Senate to function could not be met.

   The legislative government function was shut down.  The democratic processes were stopped dead.

==========================

   The teachers’ unions and related groups join the fray in Wisconsin, along with additional organizations of the far-left.  Union leaders want to retain mandatory dues for their political purposes, regardless of the individual wishes of the members.

   By way of example, we understand that the National Educational Association (NEA) recent gross receipts were $337 million.  Their political contributions and lobbying:  $50.4 million (99% to Democrats). Their other contributions, gifts and grants:  $89 million (100% to liberal organizations).

   The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) recent gross receipts were $225 million. Their political contributions and lobbying:  $18.8 million (99% to Democrats).  Their other contributions, gifts and grants: $3.6 million (100% to liberal organizations).

   These documented figures have been available for viewing on TeachersUnionsExposed.com.

==========================

   Obama had to get into the act and declare that the Wisconsin state government was conducting an "assault on unions."  And the President’s "echo media" followed along most dutifully, as exampled by the ABC comment of "Cairo moving to Madison."  And, we are told that known self-proclaimed Communists from Chicago have joined the Wisconsin union rally and "uprising."

   And (according to reliable info) known Communist Party labor journalist John Wojcik reported (from Indianapolis), "A thousand union members and their allies are sitting in and blocking the entrances to the state Senate chamber here (in Indiana). ... Democrats, taking their lead from their counterparts in Wisconsin, are boycotting the Senate proceedings, denying Republicans a quorum required to vote."

   And then there’s that SEIU fight song:  "Ya gotta take the bastards down!  Let them know.  We gotta smash them to the ground!  Let them know.  We gotta take the bastards down!"  And on and on it goes.  Isn’t that nice?

   If the Democrats and their union thugs can’t get the legislative results they want, damn the democratic processes — stop the voting altogether.  And add as much threat and intimidation as one can, through demonstrations and blockades.

   That, it would seem, is the way they operate. Not exactly the American way, is it?

==========================

   The questionable, far-left, special interest groups have come out in force.  MoveOn.org has called for nationwide marches.  SEIU has set up a nationwide protest schedule.

   Montana’s Communist party leader (as he fancies himself to be) reported from Helena that "Montanans from Helena and across the state assembled at the State Capitol here on President’s Day to reject ultra-right state legislature’s assault on working families." (That’s the way he wants it to be seen.)

   And the left in general called for "a day of rage."  As their release puts it, "We are calling for all revolutionaries to stand up.  We want all revolutionaries, youth, Communists, socialists and anarchists to stand together — to stand against the imperialist American; to stand against the capitalists that are exploiting our workers."

   And sometimes things get violent, as in Sacramento where union thugs were reported on the attack against peaceful Tea Party folks, injuring one and trying to scatter the others. (As reported by the wire services and by the Patriotic Action Network.)

==========================

   With all the high pressure demonstrations in Wisconsin and elsewhere, we see Obama’s people recruiting an army of "community organizers" to carry the "movement" on for many, many years to come.

   With the AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka and other left-agenda leaders as frequent guest strategists in the White House, it should be no surprise that the new socialist labor agenda has been given top priority.  This remains the case even though some compromises have been found for the sharing of a few obligations with public sector labor in a manner similar to labor in the private sector.

   There is no end in the reach for power and the union bosses want to make sure that public employees have little to no choice in the funding of left-wing causes and bought-and-paid-for politicians, with the public employee union dues.  That is what so much of this battle is really all about.

==========================

   The Wall Street Journal headlined the inconvenient truth that the, "U.S. Had Year of Warnings On Growing Egypt Tensions."  Well, the current administration is certainly not inclined to be up-to-date and on track with such things, and they weren’t.

   There was no excuse for such late and timid responses and there was no excuse that we can imagine for the general media to have gotten so much of what was happening so incorrectly.

   A good example of such whitewashing and misdirection would be the PBS "Front Line" documentary "Revolution In Cairo."  They were inclined to present a rather sanitized version of the Muslim Brotherhood.

   They didn’t have much to say about the inclination of the group to show different aspects of themselves to different audiences.  To the Arab world, Mohamed Badi, the Brotherhood’s Supreme Guide has pledged they would "continue to raise the banner of jihad."  This, of course, against the Middle Eastern Jews and against what he refers to as "American imperialism."

   And the Muslim Brotherhood’s Muhammad Ghannem reported to Al-Alam that, "The Suez Canal should be closed immediately, and the flow of gas from Egypt to Israel should cease in order to bring about the downfall of the Mubarak regime."  He also added that, "The people should be prepared for war against Israel."

   We are also aware of former FBI agent John Guanolo’s assessment that the Muslim Brotherhood is doing all it can to take over in Egypt.  Just thought you’d like to know.

==========================

   The Arab protests are doing what we thought they would do.  They are spreading the revolution throughout the Middle East.  Like dominos, it has gone from Egypt to Tunisia, to Algeria, to Jordan, to Bahrain, to Yemen, and on and on it goes.

   And, while brutally suppressing its own restless people, the Iranian president somehow manages to keep a straight face while condemning the Libyan government’s brutal suppression of its people as they rise up and demand their freedom.

   And, while all of this is going on, Eric Bellman reports from Indonesia in The Wall Street Journal that, "Hundreds of protesters burned churches and attacked a courthouse in central Indonesia after a Christian convicted of blasphemy against Islam was given what they considered a lenient five-year prison sentence."

   It would seem to be we’re facing a culture of violence in just about every direction.

==========================

   We all remember how the left-wing ACORN group turned out.  Undercover videos showed everyone how a number of their people were willing to help the most terrible among us to accomplish their appalling occupation involving child prostitution.  It was a revelation that went even beyond the illegal voter registration scandals they were so involved with.

   And all of this with our taxpayer money that they still want to get, as disbursed to them under new names.

   Well, here we go again.  This time it’s the Planned Parenthood organization, a group that also has gained a less than stellar reputation.

   One example that was previously revealed in The Washington Times: "Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s audits show the organization spent just $657.1 million between 2002 and 2008 from federal government grants and programs, but the abortion behemoth’s own annual reports show that it took in $2.3 billion from government grants and programs during the same time period."

   As you might imagine, the headline for this report was "Planned Parenthood’s missing millions."  And now, as reported in some media and through an FRC Action Alert, "A new undercover sting operation shows abortion giant Planned Parenthood’s willingness to exploit the victims of child prostitution.

   "Shocking undercover video footage reveals a Planned Parenthood clinic manager assuring (an assumed) pimp that the clinic would secretly offer full access to abortions and other services — despite knowing full well that the girls were underage victims."

   Other videos made show the same pattern with this organization at other locations.  De-funding is only the beginning of what should happen to that group, many are now saying.

==========================

   As revolution rocks the Middle East, the American stock exchanges take a hit and oil prices soar, with crude oil reaching $100 a barrel.

   Meanwhile, home prices drop even further, the Federal Reserve is said to be causing turmoil overseas, the U.S. debt surpasses the size of the U.S. economy in many ways, and we show the lowest number of employed in the last 30 years — a figure that is very much higher when you more fairly add the large number of those no longer looking for work.

   We told you what was going to be happening and now here it is.

==========================

   And now, with far too much of America sold or being sold to foreign interests, we read that a German group has made an offer to purchase the New York Stock Exchange.  Not so surprising when you consider that we have become the world’s largest debtor, and almost 13% of our population is on food stamps.

   And, while we’re at it, it might be interesting to note that if all citizens were to be taxed 100% of their income this year, we still would not be able to reduce the debt in any notable degree.

   And, while we’re at it, just which states have budget deficits in the double digit percentages (and with many at the very high end range)?  Well, let’s see now: Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Texas, Minnesota, Missouri, Louisiana, Wisconsin, Illinois, Mississippi, Ohio, Maine, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Jersey, Vermont, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.

   And of course, with all of these fact and figures we have been giving you for so long, the left, from the New York Times to Michael Moore are still trying to tell us that we’re not broke, we are not in such a bad financial position.

   Which parallel universe they are talking about we can’t begin to imagine.

==========================

   With all the bad economic news we find some states trying to save money by releasing prison inmates by the thousands.  And you thought crime didn’t pay, right? It would seem that eventually it just might pay, if you are patient and willing to wait a little while, until the state that put you away has managed to spend itself into oblivion.

   Of course there are other ways local government entities have discovered they might go.  Some cities see the solution of choice to be primarily a matter of raising taxes. After all, we don’t want to cut back on sweetheart entitlements and special interest giveaways.  Or do we?

==========================

   In the middle of our fiscal mess, Obama presents his budget and even a number of Democrats seem to be dumbfounded by the lack of any serious application of necessary cutbacks.

   The $3.7 trillion dollar budget presented has been greeted by dismay by some and total rejection by others.

   And on other fronts, we see The Washington Times headline: "Corporate taxes put U.S. at competitive disadvantage," even as the result sinks in with such comparisons as with federal employee compensation versus the lower compensation in the private workforce.

   And with all of this and so much more, the taxpayer becomes the ultimate victim.

==========================

   As was expected, the Democrat controlled Senate voted down the healthcare repeal that had just been passed by the House.  All of this happens, even as many states make it clear that they cannot survive as a viable, financially stable entity with the new arrangements under the new Medicaid and other operational changes being forced upon them by the new healthcare law and related federal government edicts.

   But of course Obama somehow manages to protect his own.  As reported by Dr. Milton R. Wolf, in The Washington Times, "Witness for yourself the outrageous way the White House protects its best friends from Obamacare.  Last year, we learned that the Department of Health and Human Services had granted 111 waivers to protect a lucky few from the onerous regulations of the new national healthcare overhaul.  That number quickly and quietly climbed to 222, and two weeks ago we learned that the number of Obamacare privileged escapes has skyrocketed to 733."

   Among the many friends of Obama who gained this special dispensation — the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), whose leadership has been so very close to the President (with everything from advice to campaign financing).

   Let there be no doubt, corruption is alive and well and is currently headquartered at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC!

==========================

   As the battle over Obamacare lurches through the courts, another federal judge weighs in.  As noted by a meaningful editorial in the WSJ: "The crux of these cases is whether the government’s power to regulate ‘commerce ... among the several States’ is so broad that it can mandate that everyone buy health insurance. Judge Gladys Kessler of the D.C. district court says in her 64-page opinion that this power includes regulating even ‘mental activity, ie, decision-making.’ "

   So now it would seem that "big brother" can go all the way to even dictate what is acceptable and unacceptable mental activity.  I realize this is the holy grail for progressive/socialist purists. Let’s hope we can make it unobtainable for them.

==========================

   Most of the "controlled" media in America doesn’t want to spend much time on such matters, if any at all, but it’s a fact of considerable importance that over half the states are doing all that they can to get themselves out from under Obama’s new Medicaid and all the rest of the mess.

   Also, Lloyd M. Krieger wrote in The Wall Street Journal: "The most significant change is a wave of frantic consolidation in the health industry. Because the law mandates that insurers accept all patients regardless of pre-existing conditions, insurers will not make money with their current premium and provider-payment structures.  As a result, they have already started to raise premiums and cut payments to doctors and hospitals.  Smaller and weaker insurers are being forced to sell themselves to larger entities."

   Sometimes this writer wonders what must really be going through the deeper recesses of the minds of the left-wing politicians who did this to us.

==========================

   And let us not forget Obama’s "wonderful" Home Affordable Modification Program.  This liberal administration launched it in 2009 and today it’s crashing against the shoals of economic despair.

   It was intended for the task of rewarding those who issue mortgage services for the modification of contracts and somehow helping borrowers to stay afloat. Now it seems we find that the number of canceled applications exceeds the actual number that are approved, with a number of hapless homeowners going into foreclosure before they can manage to get help or any kind of a decision out of the program’s bureaucrats.

   It’s an example of one more failed program.  And, once again, it’s a lot of money down the drain.

==========================

   The corruption and sell-outs will go down as one infamous chapter of contemporary American history.  As reviewed by Wes Vernon, the thoughts of Aaron Klein and Brenda J. Elliott in their book, "The Manchurian President," put it very clearly. "The establishment media turned a blind eye to Van Jones.  You did not know that a self-proclaimed Communist was working at the White House at a high level of policymaking. Nor would you have known that Mr. Jones ‘reportedly was screened by a top Obama adviser,’ and (again if you relied on the establishment media) you most certainly would not have known that ‘crucially, Jones is just one of scores of radical White House officials with agendas that may be far different from what they are made to appear.’ "

   And now we are also receiving some very disturbing information about this last presidential election.  We are told that, according to an FEC report that was actually posted on the White House web site a while back, there evidently were 96,992,000 actual votes cast by officially registered voters. However, it was stated that there were 132,618,580 ballots in the ballot boxes.

   Clearly that would seem to indicate that there were 35,626,580 more votes that were counted than were actually cast in that election.  Is there something that wasn’t figured in here or is there something very, very wrong?

   And then there’s that business about so many millions given by our government through donations — many millions that just seem to have disappeared.  And then there’s GEs Jeffrey Immelt, now so closely connected to Obama, while GE government contracts proliferate through the federal government.  And this is only a sampling of what is going on.

==========================

   You have probably seen the statistical information but it is still important to clearly note the facts for the sake of history, if for no other reason.

   As researched and written by Jon Christian Ryter, "Barack Obama has created more self-serving federal agencies in less than 2 years than Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, FDR and Jimmy Carter did in the 31 combined years of their presidencies."

   He further warned that, "When the free enterprise system collapses, and the United States of America as we know it dies, then what will be left will more closely resemble the type of totalitarianism the world saw in Nazi Germany and in the Soviet Union."

   As Newsmax magazine reported, "With Congress lost and the Democrats reeling, Obama plans to rule by regulation."

   Yes, he plans to rule his way, as noted by David Limbaugh in The Washington Times, "Everything about his governance smacks of picking winners and losers and defying accountability, just because he can and no one is going to stop him."

   A writer in the Czech Republic is quoted with one rather disturbing thought.  "The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president.

   "The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince.  The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president."

   So, what are we going to do now?  Are we going to continue to allow ourselves to become a bureaucratic dictatorship or should we demand that no regulations be allowed to become law without first being passed by Congress?

   I can only say, show me your answer by what you do about it, not by how you merely reply.

==========================

   Every month or so the left does something that makes it seem as though they’ve lost their minds entirely.  And then, time goes by and something else comes up.

   Now it would seem that many on the left, including "no shame" reporters and pundits are trying to tell us how Obama is so much like Ronald Reagan.

   They’ve got to be kidding.  They can’t even fool their own base with that kind of fantasy.  It’s not unlike when Obama told Bill O’Reilly that, "I didn’t raise taxes once."  Well, I guess that’s actually correct.  He didn’t raise taxes once. He did so a number of times — like with his unearned income tax increase on investment and interest income, and with the new "fees" and payroll taxes tied to the new healthcare debacle, etc., etc.

   As one observer noted, if he keeps this up, his nose is going to stick out further than his ears.

==========================

   There are so many unfortunate behaviors and viewpoints that are a part of Obama’s pattern that are felt are completely and absolutely inappropriate for a president of any nation, let alone the United States.

   One example was brought to our attention some time ago by the London Daily Telegraph who reminded us that, "One of Barack Obama’s first acts as president was to return to Britain a bust of Winston Churchill that had graced the Oval Office since 9/11.  He followed this up by denying Prime Minister Gordon Brown, on his first state visit, the usual joint press conference with flags, etc." (JCR)

   Thus began this president’s long term rejection of our closest allies while moving even closer to some of our most dangerous foes.

   Another example of his aberrant behavior can be seen in the little known fact that at least half-a-dozen members of Obama’s Cabinet have not heard from the President even once over the last 2 years.  Disconnections and outright rejections from normal, reasonable, responsible, and traditional social and professional conduct seems to be his normal behavior, even while embracing the more radical elements in his environment.

   What does all of this mean?  Take a look at his actions and the results manifested upon our society and on our economy.  That may be where you’ll find your answer.

==========================

   It is not really much of a secret to anyone that the bulk of the network broadcast news and the vast majority of the metropolitan newspapers in America openly practice the deceptive art of exclusion.  This has become more and more glaringly apparent, as talk radio, Fox Cable News, the Internet, alternative publications and similar sources offer contrasting and more fulfilling reporting.

   And the drop of readership and viewership with the offending media is presenting the appropriate and expected result. And the growing success of the News Corp. and similar entities strongly suggests that the rest of the story really does matter.

==========================

   This was the month when it was announced that the self-serving propagandist, Arianna Huffington hooked up with AOL.  The woman has a history promoting ideas and fictional news that she thinks will offer her financial advantages, very much like Michael Moore and others of that ilk.

   She originally had tried to convince everyone that she was a conservative, but when folks began to see through her little act, she moved over into the left-wing, liberal/progressive camp.

   There she found similar carnies and well-to-do socialists willing to fill her cavernous purse.  So much for Arianna and not much more for AOL.  Perhaps they deserve each other.

==========================

   An accurate and very detailed study was conducted by the prestigious Parents Television Council which clearly shows that sexual and substance abuse activities by teens and pre-teens is being promoted through titillating TV dramatizations on television shows that are actually aimed at the very young and vulnerable children of our nation.

   It would seem that most of our networks have just about done it all.  They skew the news to suit their special political agenda and they present an environment of violence and irresponsible sexual misadventure with their dramatic entertainment.

   One would find it most difficult to set a production agenda that was more attuned to the task of promoting an effective national decline.  If that is their purpose they are doing their job exceptionally well.

==========================

   Our educational system continues to earn a failing grade.  According to the non-profit College Board, an increasing number of students are scoring at the lowest level possible with the Advanced Placement exams.

   And the National Academies academic organization report shows that U.S. students are still found to be very much lacking in the important fundamentals of science and math. And yet, with all of this and so much more, many schools do little to nothing to address the problem.

   The only idea that most seem to have is to ask for more money, which only serves to further feed a failed system.

   Of course some schools do seem to find directions, methods and purposes, but to where and to do what?  We keep seeing examples that have no reasonable explanation, such as in the Bedford, New Hampshire High School where Ehrenreich’s book "Nickel and Dimed" was found to be a problem with such things as a depiction of Jesus as "a wine-guzzling vagrant and a precocious socialist."

   It’s a problem because it is an assigned book, and the School superintendent Tim Mayers declares that the book will stay on the required student reading list, with only such alternative assignment reading as they decide to allow.

   Another good example (from CBSDFW.com): "The Foreign Language Assistance Program (FLAP) grant was awarded to Mansfield ISD by the U.S. Department of Education.  As a part of the five-year $1.3 million grant, Arabic classes would be mandatory at Cross Timbers Intermediate School and Kenneth Davis Elementary School."

   The rising anger and general concern from parents and others did manage to get the program put on hold, but don’t count on it as being stopped.  It will take a whole new educational system to get us back on track. That’s what we are hearing.

==========================

   The new Rosa Parks is what The Washington Times calls her.  "The locked-in hopelessness is what Ohio mother Kelley Williams-Bolar was trying to avoid for her children.

   "Two weeks ago, she became the symbol of educational injustice in this nation as she emerged after nine days in jail for trying to do what every parent hopes to do:  Get the best education possible for her children.  Her offense was all related to having the ‘wrong’ five-digit ZIP code."

   As Robert Enlow, President of the Foundation for Educational Choice explained, "Because this single mother of two daughters used her father’s address to enroll them in the Copley-Fairlawn school district instead of her Akron public-housing address, she was sentenced to 10 days in jail.

   "She was convicted of two felony counts of falsifying records because she desperately wanted a better education for her children."  Yes, she went to jail for the sake of a good choice for her children’s education.  She is a very dangerous criminal.

==========================

   With state and federal funds for education drying up all over the nation, there are now those who are suggesting that the American school systems have an opportunity to make layoffs really matter for the better education of the kids.  The layoffs, it is suggested, should be selected on the basis of the quality of the teachers, not on seniority.

   Another examination of the problems in public education, with suggestions for possible solutions, might be found in the "Taking Back Our Schools" white paper by this writer.  What is offered therein is as follows.  "It was always my understanding that the U.S. Department of Education was supposed to have been established for the primary purpose of improving the quality and result in the education of our children.

   "This was expected to be exampled by marked improvement in student test scores, drastically lowered drop-out rates and with similar indicators.  So why have senior high school student test scores been mostly flat since the 1970s?  And why are there so many drop-outs?  And why have we been endlessly pouring more and more funding into this system, with little or no results at all?

   "These and other questions worth considering seem to be encouraging such solutions as completely abolishing that failed Carter-era national educational agency and bringing our schools back under the control of state and local authorities — In other words, back to the people.

   "Growing numbers are also advocating new standards for the education of those who teach our children, and an enlightened change in the school books and in the curricula, and freeing our educational system from the grip of the educators’ unions.

   "As a point of observation, where have you ever heard of a public grade school or a high school in America that offers a comprehensive, mandated education in ethics?  And what about the teaching of real American history — not the abbreviated, ‘politically correct’ pabulum that we have today?  Do any of these things matter? We would suggest that such things should matter. Maybe they should matter a great deal.

   "The question, of course, remains, what are you or anyone else going to do about this sort of thing?  As it can always be expected to be the case with such things, meaningful changes of this nature depend on you and me. It’s that simple.  And it is also that complicated."

==========================

   Jeffrey T. Kuhner, President of the Edmund Burke Institute suggests that Obama’s predispositions toward Islam and his resulting appeasement policies have markedly assisted the current rise of radical Islam in today’s chaotic world.  Many other scholars have come to that same conclusion.

   Obama’s close connection shows in other ways as well — as with Imam Rauf, one of the "Ground-Zero Mosque" directors.  He was discovered to have bragged that "Obama’s historic speech in Egypt came from me."  His claim may or may not be true, but there is one thing that is obvious.  He feels a strong kinship of shared philosophy with our current maverick president.

   It is a feeling that we see is growing within questionable segments of the Arab world, even as we see his estrangement growing in his relationship with most Americans.

==========================

   The saga of what has been described in some circles as the Mexican invasion of America continues along its bazar and rather convoluted path.  Among the many stories that come our way would be the struggle Mexico seems to be having in its effort to harvest its coffee crops.

   It seems they are having some sort of labor shortage.  At least that is what is being reported.  And what about all of those millions of illegal aliens in America, claiming to be here because they don’t have work to do in Mexico?

   And what is this we hear once again about how things keep getting twisted around when U.S. citizens try to protect themselves and their property and maybe even try to help the authorities to stop at least a tiny part of the vast tide from south of the border?

   The latest Associated Press report tells us that, "The U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a lower court verdict ordering Arizona rancher Roger Barnett to pay damages of $87,000 for holding a group of undocumented immigrants at gunpoint."  This is the one war with Mexico that we seem to actually be losing.

==========================

   There are at least a few knowledgeable observers, like Michael Prell, who understood the Communist Chinese leader’s visit to the Obama White House for what it was — an open display of their intention to dominate the situation, and in the long run, to dominate the world.

   Their efforts take many forms.  Two that we have not previously mentioned are China’s building of its strategic reserves of rare-earth metals (used for many purposes, such as high-tech military applications).  Another activity you may not be aware of — Chinese steel is evidently involved in the building of Iranian nuclear weapons.

   The Chinese leadership has made it clear that it sees Obama’s American reductions and increased financial indebtedness and our withdrawal from super-power status as its great, historic opportunity.

==========================

   Now it would seem there are some kind of connections between Obama and Libya’s dictator, Gadhafi.  The Reuters news service has reported that, "As pressure mounts on the White House to intervene to stop Moammar Gadhafi’s bloody crackdown in Libya, many commentators have been wondering why Barack Obama has been cautious in his criticism of the dictator after the U.S. president so fervently supported the removal from office, the U.S. ally Hosni Mubarak of Egypt."

   Aaron Klein’s Reuters revelation continued: "But Gadhafi has been tied to Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s spiritual adviser for more than 23 years.  The Libyan dictator also has financed and strongly supported the Nation of Islam and its leader, Louis Farrakhan.  Obama has ties to Farrakhan and his controversial group."

   Something to think about, but he may have to throw Gadhafi under the bus eventually.

==========================

   Now The Wall Street Journal tells us that the top rated lawyers in America have pushed their fee to $1,000 an hour and beyond.  Why has the cost of legal help risen so dramatically?  It’s been going up for years and, with their profession in charge — with no competition — they get all they can squeeze our of the misfortunes of others.

   As most any expert observers will tell you, the lawyers have a genuine monopoly on the profession.  Shouldn’t the legal profession be subject to the same sort of antitrust legislation as the rest of the business and professional world is?  Well of course, but let’s remember that the profession most represented in elected politicians is that of lawyers.

   Let’s face it, they’ve learned so very well how to take care of their own.

==========================

   We have begun to learn just how flawed the current administration’s "green plan" really is. But there are still a number of rude surprises that are not generally known.

   Among them would be some interesting facts brought to light by H. Sterling Burnett, a senior fellow at the National Center for Policy Analysis.

   His commentary in The Washington Times includes the following: "Increasing the United States’ reliance on ‘clean’ energy, as touted by President Obama yet again in his budget proposal, would leave Americans just as dependent on unreliable foreign suppliers as we are now on the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries’ stranglehold on oil.  Instead of a handful of mostly Middle Eastern states, we would be dependent on a single nation for critical energy supplies — China."

   Why would this be so, you might ask?  As Mr. Burnett noted, "Key components of every green-energy technology, wind turbines, solar cells, energy-efficient lighting, high-tech batteries and other goods, are made from a small class of minerals known as rare-earth elements and other rare minerals.

   "At the moment and for the near future, they are found in economically exploitable concentrations only in the People’s Republic of China."  Now you really know who’s running the store.

   The attack against Christianity continues unabated. The U.S. 10th Circuit Court ruled that crosses near highways in Utah honoring fallen state Highway Patrol officers somehow manages to be in violation of some kind of constitutional prohibition against the government’s establishment of religion.

   A small Texas based atheist group is responsible for successfully pressing the issue.  One might suggest that if Christians put crosses in their front yards all over America, atheists might feel their actions were exposing them to more distress than they might have ever imagined. But of course that won’t happen, will it?

==========================

   As the war against Christianity continues, we see so many examples and so many victims every day.  The marvelously researched exposures by the writer Michelle Malkin include this one about a fine, well run, fast-food business with over 1,500 locations in about 40 states.

   " ‘Chick-fil-A’ is run by devout Christians who believe in strong marriages, devoted families and the highest standards of character for their workers."  But as she writes, "For the left, Biblically based corporate principles constitute high social justice crimes and misdemeanors."

   As her article continues (in The Washington Times), "Several progressive activist blogs have waged an ugly war against ‘Chick-fil-A.’  The company’s alleged atrocity:  One of its independent outlets in Pennsylvania donated some sandwiches and brownies to a marriage seminar run by the Pennsylvania Family Institute, which happens to oppose same-sex marriage."

   What happened next?  "New York Times reporter Kim Severson gave the ‘Chick-fil-A’ bashers a coveted Sunday A-Section megaphone, repeatedly parroting the ‘Chick-fil-A’ anti-gay slur and raising fears of ‘evangelical Christian muscle flexing’ with only the thinnest veneer of journalistic objectivity.

   "Severson, you see, is an openly gay advocate of same-sex marriage equality herself and the former vice-president of the identity politics-mongering National Gay and Lesbian Journalists Association."

  Well, so much for journalistic objectivity.  But then, we’ve known about such problems with the New York Times for some time, haven’t we?

March Madness

   March, 2011. Stephen Wagner, the former director of the Health and Human Services "Human Trafficking Program," tells us (through The Washington Times) that, "Each year in the United States, a quarter of a million children are subjected to commercial sexual exploitation, lured into situations of prostitution from which they cannot really escape.  This is the face of human trafficking in the U.S. today; the typical victim is not someone from another country but an American child."

   Mr. Wagner also mentioned the, "released videos filmed at Planned Parenthood offices in New Jersey, New York and Virginia in which a man posing as a pimp, with a juvenile victim at his side, inquires about obtaining abortion and contraceptives for his ‘girls.’ (The videos are available for viewing [at this time] at LiveAction.org.)"

   Mr. Wagner asks, "Is this pimp sent away by indignant health care providers — or better, are the police called to investigate these evident cases of felony sexual abuse of a minor?  Tragically, no:  In each instance, clinic staff members readily describe how they can help facilitate the continued exploitation of his victims."

   This is an absolutely amazing situation and, what makes it an even more astounding event, most of the media and most of the citizens of our land suggest, by their disinterest and inaction, that they really don’t give a damn.

   What is our country coming to?  Can you explain that to me?

=================================

   Jonathan Seidl reports from The Blaze on the Internet, that another video has surfaced, this time authenticating, "...a claim from Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards, who recently appeared on the Joy Behar Show to decry the Planned Parenthood defunding bill:  ‘If this bill ever becomes law, millions of women in this country are gonna lose their healthcare access — not to abortion services — to basic family planning, you know, mammograms.’ "

   Well, quite a number of Planned Parenthood offices were called and were told that women "...will have to go elsewhere for a mammogram."  It was also discovered that, "...no Planned Parenthood clinics provide this breast cancer screening procedure.  ‘We don’t provide those services whatsoever,’ admits a staffer at Planned Parenthood of Arizona."  So much for the veracity of that most questionable organization.

=================================

   The dire economic headlines continue.  As The Wall Street Journal reports: "Stocks slide as oil prices rise — Dow tumbles 168.32 as Mideast turmoil inflames worries about inflation."

   And Professor Barry Eichengreen, of the University of California, reports, "Why the dollar’s reign is near an end."

   And, even as we are told that hiring in America is improving, the "...data masks a troubling rise in people dropping out of the labor force."  And the, "...trade gap widens as imports grow 5.2%."

   Yes, the Federal Reserve may be dumping new money into the system but the dollar is still sinking while the inflation rate rises.  And with all of this, we see very few banks or other financial institutions helping to bolster the small businesses of America.

   It’s not a good picture.

=================================

   This was the month when we saw the offered cuts in Federal spending from Obama and the Democrats would hardly amount to one day’s calculation of our deficit.  It is also when we began to come to the realization that increased health care spending, unfunded pension liabilities, welfare mandates, reduced tax revenues, and an apocalyptic host of other maladies were driving an alarming number of states to economic ruin.

   And now, once again, the Dodd-Frank disastrous duo is becoming a "threat to financial stability." As reported by Peter J. Wallison in The Wall Street Journal, "The identification of firms as too big to fail is a mad policy that will confer unfair marketplace advantages and put taxpayers on the hook for future bailouts."

   The problems are endless.  And, as Grassfire Nation reminds us, "In February, the Barack Obama-led federal government posted the largest monthly deficit in U.S. history — an amount larger than the deficit for the entire year of 2007."  As was reported, "The Federal budget deficit in February, 2011: $223 billion.  The Federal budget deficit for all of 2007: $160.7 billion."  And the beat goes on.

=================================

   You may recall when The Heritage Foundation announced that, "Entitlements — Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid — threaten to bankrupt the nation.  The unsustainable tsunami of spending on these programs will accelerate as 77 million baby boomers flood into them."

   The foundation also noted that, "Unlike other parts of the federal budget, such as defense or most education programs, Congress does not review and approve the level of funding for these programs. Rather, their expansion is on autopilot, fueled by demographic changes and rapidly rising health care costs."

   The warning: "We are reaching a budgetary tipping point as entitlement spending’s automatic ‘first call’ crowds out other national priorities."  These and other financial alerts are even getting the attention of some Democrats.

   As signaled by Senator Joe Manchin: "We cannot ignore the fiscal titanic of our national debt and deficit."  And as stated by Senator Mark Warner: "...we’re approaching a financial Armageddon."

   You have been warned.

=================================

   Stephen Lerner, of SEIU, made some notably provocative and frightening remarks at a left-wing Pace University conference.  (Nothing new for today’s inflammatory brand of union leaders.)

   Among his rants: "...what would happen if we organized homeowners in mass to do a mortgage strike — if we get half a million people to agree?  It would literally cause a new financial crisis for the banks, not for us.  We would be doing quite well.  We wouldn’t be paying anything."

   He also added such little gems as: "...I think we weed out a very simple strategy;  How do we bring down the stock market?"

   We have no doubt that he made these and so many other similar statements.  It was caught on tape.  We are also aware that he and his union have very close ties with the current White House.  It’s a matter of public record.

   And, of course, you don’t recall any of this in today’s main American media, do you?  Do you ever wonder why?

=================================

   Obama is turning out to be a very strange and sometimes a quite scary president.  And he seems to be one of the most inconsistent and unpredictable leaders our nation has ever had.

   With these undeclared wars he seems to be getting us into or keeping us involved with, this writer is reminded of a comment made a while back about this sort of thing.

   As quoted in The Boston Globe: "The president does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation."

   Just another critic of Obama’s military adventures?  Well, not exactly.  You see, that is a statement that was actually made by Barack Obama on December 20, 2007.  Interesting, yes?

=================================

   Isn’t this "transparent" government wonderful — you know, the one that Obama promised us?  Of course if you want to believe that, you’d better not give a close examination of what has actually been going on.

   You would rather know what’s actually going on?  Then you might want to take a look at this Drudge Report: "The (so called) most transparent administration in history stuffed a pool reporter in a closet for over an hour at a fundraiser this week.

   "Staffers with Vice President Joe Biden confined a reporter in a closet this week to keep him from mingling with high-powered guests gathered for a Democratic fundraiser."

   The general media downplayed that situation but was quick to praise the president for putting the White House visitor logs online. However, the investigative video producer reminds us that, "The White House is still holding back ‘tens of thousands’ of visitor logs, according to Congressional testimony."

   So, with all of that, the end result was that the president got some sort of left-wing "transparency" award.  However, as reported by The Blaze, "The award came from a group of ‘transparency advocates,’ but was done in secret during a presentation that was originally supposed to be open to the press..."

   Who said Obama doesn’t have a sense of humor?

=================================

   The power of the Executive Branch of our government (the White House) has experienced an explosive growth over the last two years, as has most of the president’s executive departments and bureaus.

   One of the many examples would be Elizabeth Warren’s Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Ms. Warren has been described in an editorial in The Wall Street Journal.

   "Mr. Obama created a special position for her at both the White House and Treasury, letting her essentially create the bureau and hire its staff without facing the Senate.  She has proceeded to sign up a raft of liberal antibank populists..."

   It was further observed that "The consumer finance czar answers to no one and sets her own budget." The Internet essayist, Jon Christian Ryter put it simply that, "Obama asserts the right to amend statutory law and the Constitution itself through the use of Executive Orders.  This is how dictatorships are born."

   As Jack Curtis wrote in "The Powers of This President,"  "Not all the powers President Obama has wielded or claimed seem clearly identifiable in the U.S. Constitution.  Whether that is tolerable or even desirable appears to require consideration since the entire point of having a constitution is to limit government in the hope of fending off tyranny."

   Is the picture getting really clear now?  One would think so.

=================================

   Obama’s history gets stranger with every passing day.  We have been informed that, according to the U.S. Census, there is only one Barack Obama, but we are told there may be as many as 27 Social Security numbers and over 80 aliases that may be associated, in one way or another, with that original name.

   And we are also informed that the Social Security number that he is using at this time originated in the state of Connecticut, where we understand he has never lived.  (So far we have been unable to obtain a refutation on any of this.)

   We have also been informed that his time at Columbia University is a closed book.  That also includes the school’s yearbook, which doesn’t seem to include his picture.

   Also we have been unable to find any school records and have been unable to find any former classmates who remember him. We have also been unable to gain any information from the University on our own and the White House is reluctant to assist us in any way whatsoever.

   Barack Obama remains a mystery — evidently it’s the way he wants it to be.

=================================

   If you’ve been following the tainted saga of our questionable Attorney General Eric Holder and his crew, you’ve noticed a very serious erosion of justice in America.

   Some of the latest events include the Justice Department suit against the California Department of Corrections for a claimed violation of an inmate to practice his religion.

   What terribly important right has been put into question? — a prisoner’s right to not shave.  Never mind what might be able to be hidden in the massive, notable underbrush.  They don’t want to consider such security measures, right?

   And, as reported by World Net Daily: "Judicial Watch, in November, 2010, filed a Freedom of Information Act request, seeking records of communications between the agency’s Civil Rights Division and the NAACP.  Under federal requirements, Attorney General Eric Holder’s agency was supposed to have responded by Dec. 3, 2010. ‘However, to date, no documents have been produced,’ the Judicial Watch announcement said."

   And Representative Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) sent a letter to Attorney General Holder about SEIU union official, Stephen Lerner, "...outlining a plan to collapse the American economy — including crashing the stock market — so that unions can become more powerful." (As reported by The Blaze.)

   Rep. Chaffetz’s letter informed Holder that, "The escalation of Mr. Lerner’s threats would clearly constitute domestic terrorism and pose substantial harm to the American people and the economy."

   He further asks that the department let him know how it plans to respond to these threats.  Again, nothing seems to be happening.  Has his Justice Department become the Lawless Department?

=================================

   Things have gone so terribly wrong in our so-called Justice Department that we are starting to hear calls for Eric Holder’s resignation.

   Among those calling for such an action is the president of the Edmund Burke Institute, Jeffrey T. Kuhner. As he recently declared in The Washington Times, "Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. should resign.  He is a disgrace to his office and his country.  Mr. Holder is a race baiter.

   "He testified during a recent House Appropriations subcommittee hearing on the voting rights case involving members of the New Black Panther Party."

   And what had those Black Panthers done?  As Mr. Kuhner showed, "They denounced the voters (at a Philadelphia voting poll) as ‘crackers’ and vowed those voters would not be allowed to help defeat then-candidate Barack Obama.  Their goal was to bully and intimidate.  This was a clear case of violation of voting rights."

   And what was our Attorney General’s reaction to all of this?  As further reported, "Mr. Holder shamelessly played the race card.  He claimed to take offense at comments by civil rights activist Bartle Bull, who called it the most serious example of voter intimidation he had ever seen at the polls. ‘When you compare what people endured in the South in the ‘60s to try to get the right to vote for African-Americans, to compare what people were subjected to, with what happened in Philadelphia ... to describe it in those terms I think does a great disservice to people who put their lives on the line for my people,’ Mr. Holder said."

   Mr. Kuhner’s reply is most interesting.  "Excuse me — his people? This is one of the most outrageous — and divisive — statements by a senior government official in recent memory.  His people are and should be the American people — all of us."

   And, as was further noted, "...he refuses to answer whether Deputy Assistant Attorney General Julie Fernandes instructed her subordinates to pursue only civil rights investigations involving victims who are black."

   And, when you add up all the many other errors in judgement, the conclusion ends up: "By his own words, he has shown he is unfit for the position."

   But with what is now often referred to as a lawless government, little can be expected to ever be done to right these or any other wrongs of this nature.  At least, probably not at this time.

=================================

   The real NPR is exposed to the light of day once again.  Now we see high level executives of that organization like Ron Schiller, President of the NPR Foundation, and Betsy Liley, Senior Director of Institutional Giving at NPR, in a hidden video recording talking to persons they thought were Muslim supporters of NPR.

   The NPR executives proceeded to seriously malign the Tea Party folks and conservatives in general.  One of their milder comments was to describe them as, "...white, middle-American and gun-toting.  I mean, it’s scary.  They’re seriously racist, racist people."

   These revelations have helped to develop a genuine backlash across America and for renewed calls to Congress to end NPR’s $90 million annual funding by the beleaguered taxpayers.  Yes, heads rolled at NPR but no one seems to be fooled by that.

   The feeling is that they are still the same "left-wing-characters" and have no business being funded by government taxpayer money we definitely cannot afford to give them.

   PBS President Paula Kerger made an appeal to viewers to help stave off possible cuts of public funding.  But, as Senator Jim DeMint stated in The Wall Street Journal, "...if PBS can pay Ms. Kerger $632,233 in annual compensation ... surely it can operate without tax dollars."

   So now Republicans (and some Democrats) are putting forward budget funding legislation that includes dropping NPR from the public payroll.  We’ll see what happens now.  But, don’t hold your breath while you wait.

=================================

   Not wanting to be outdone in the general movement toward a new common insanity in today’s world, the British Daily Mail tells us that, "Al-Qaeda has launched a women’s magazine that mixes beauty and fashion tips (behind a veil no doubt) with advice on suicide bombings.  Dubbed ‘Jihad Cosmo,’ the glossy magazine’s front cover features the barrel of a sub-machine gun next to a woman in a veil."

   In the race toward the most violent mental retardation, this has got to be considered as a clear front-runner.  (We like to keep you up to date on such things.)

=================================

   The Muddled Mideast continues its revolutionary convolutions.  Many observers are worried about a possible empowerment of the Muslim Brotherhood in the new Egypt, even as the Egyptian military is reported shipping arms to the Libyan rebels.

   And of course there is that strange address that Obama gave this month about Libya in which he said, "...there is no question that Libya — and the world — will be better off with Gaddafi out of power.

   "I, along with many other world leaders, have embraced that goal, and will actively pursue it through non-military means.  But broadening our military mission to include regime change would be a mistake." (Our emphasis.)

   So, we bomb the hell out of them but we’re only concerned with non-military means and no actual regime change?  Now, it would seem that just about everyone wants to know just exactly what this double-talk is all about.

   And now, as reported by Ron Moreau and Sami Yousafzai, the war goes on. "As the battle for the future of Libya continues, the excitement is almost palpable among Libyan-born Al Qaeda fighters and other Arabs hunkered down in Pakistan’s remote and lawless tribal area.

   "According to Afghan Taliban sources close to Osama bin Laden’s terrorist group, some of the 200 or so Libyans operating near the Afghan border may be on their way home to steer the anti-Gaddafi revolution in a more (revolutionary) Islamist direction." (As posted by the D.B. Internet reporting service.)

=================================

   As the Libyan revolution rages on, Reuters news service reports that, "Obama authorizes secret support for Libya rebels."  And the British paper, The Telegraph, reports that, "Libyan rebel commander admits his fighters have Al Qaeda links."

   And Gerald F. Seib’s Capital Journal reports that, "On Libya, Iran looms large."  It would seem that Iran is also getting involved, big time.  All of which suggests that it is one great big mess that could end up turning in almost any direction.

   About the only thing that seems sure in all of this is that many more lives will continue to be lost, no matter what else happens.

=================================

   In another area of the Mideast, a Reuters news release reveals that, "Syria’s Assad deploys army in port (Latakia) to keep order."  All of this, the many headlines tell us, suggests that the regime in Syria is being rocked by growing protests.

   And the violence is even reaching Saudi Arabia, with such Associated Press reports as, "Saudi police opened fire to disperse a protest in a section (of Riyadh) where minority Shiites live, leaving at least one man injured, as the government toughens its efforts to prevent a wave of unrest sweeping the Arab world from reaching the kingdom."

   And, we also see the Saudis sending armed forces to bolster their neighbor’s dictatorship in Bahrain.  And we see headlines about the Yemeni President coming ever closer to resignation and The Muslim Brotherhood doing its best to take advantage of instability in Jordan.

   And you think we have troubles in Wisconsin?

=================================

   With all the Muslim instabilities in the world, one might wonder how this could end up effecting us here in America, especially under our current regime.  Well, Jeffrey Hunter (Edmund Burke Institute) has made a rather frightening statement.

   He writes (in The Washington Times) that, "Radical Islam threatens American democracy.  It is slowly subverting America from within and without.  If it is not stopped, U.S. civilization is doomed."

   And yet, with all that we’ve learned, "...when anyone tries to put a spotlight on the growth of domestic Muslim extremism, liberals, Islamic lobby groups and their fellow travelers cry ‘Islamophobia’ and ‘racism.’ "

   But as Mr. Kuhner shows us, "Islam is a ‘religion of peace’ unless you investigate some Islamic extremists who may be plotting to kill or maim Americans; then that will compel peaceful, law-abiding Muslims to wage jihad.  This is the twisted — and perverse — logic of the multicultural left."

   And so we have that Congressional hearing to examine the possible radicalization of some U.S. Muslims, and we hear that, "The American Civil Liberties Union, the Council on American Islamic Relations and the Democratic Party all claimed the hearing was not only unjustified and deeply discriminatory, but could spark an intense backlash among many in the U.S. Muslim community."

   And we all know how things like that go, don’t we?  Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan’s slaughter at Fort Hood in Texas, the killing of a young Army recruiter in Little Rock, Arkansas by a black Islamic convert, and the Muslim guerrillas in Pakistan who came from their homes in America to wage war against U.S. forces, etc., etc.

   And, as reported in The Washington Times, "A Senate investigation has found that the November, 2009 Fort Hood massacre was predictable and avoidable, something that was obvious to anyone except members of the Obama administration.  Worse, the White House still refuses to admit that a jihadist terror attack took place on the Army base."

   And, as reported by Reuters, "Muslims, activists and supporters demonstrated in Times Square to protest a Congressional hearing on radicalization of U.S. Muslims." — Interestingly, in the same square where a radical Muslim attempted to set off a bomb not so long before.

   It doesn’t really take all that much to see what’s happening here, now does it?

=================================

   We get an interesting insight into the Shariah threat as reported by Kathy Jessup in Townhall Magazine.  "A judge refuses a protection order for a woman raped by her Muslim husband, ruling the man’s abuse is allowed under Shariah law.

   "A cartoonist is in hiding after a tongue-in-cheek ‘Everybody Draw Mohammed Day’ promotion earned her a ‘fatwa’ death order for violating a Shariah edict banning drawing the Muslim prophet’s image.

   "A Shariah-compliant investment fund is camouflaged as a charity and funnels more than $12 million to finance Hamas suicide bombers.  Not exactly shocking in some Muslim countries where strict adherence to centuries-old rules, based on Islamic teachings, shines a spotlight on stonings and beheadings.  But these occurred recently in The United States!"

   I’m sorry.  That’s uncomfortable, but it’s true.

=================================

   And now we discover, as accurately revealed by The Patriotic Action Network, "Investigations have found millions of dollars in American money (U.S. tax dollars) are going overseas to rebuild Islamic mosques and finance their Internet availability in the mosques."

   Also, this headline has been all over the Internet: "Obama’s security advisor McDonough meets with Hamas support entity."  And it was announced that, "Tyson Foods eliminates Labor Day in favor of Muslim holiday."

   And now we are hearing that some Muslims are actually calling for the removal of the Statue of Liberty because they find it to be offensive to them.  And what about the unreported and under-reported news about Muslim honor killings in America?  Very few media sources ever bother with such embarrassing stories.  (They run counter to their Muslim whitewashing.)

   And there have been a number of examples of this sort of thing.  Just one typical example would be, as only reported by The Washington Times and few others (as far as this writer could tell).

   As Abigail Esman reported: "Faleh Almaleki, an Iraqi immigrant was accused of murdering his daughter, 20-year-old Noor.  Mr. Almaleki, by his own family’s accounts, was upset by his daughter’s Westernization."

   You possibly haven’t heard very much if anything about what’s been going on, have you?  Do you wonder why that is so?  Are you not getting really mad about all of this?  We wonder.

=================================

   More problems with TSA.  It isn’t enough that their scanners seem to have been involved in some sort of questionable contract and/or authentication problem, there is now this, from Shaun Waterman of The Washington Times: "The Transportation Security Administration ‘cooked the books’ to understate the costs of using federal workers rather than private contractors to screen airport passengers, a key TSA critic in Congress charged."

   Shaun goes on to explain that, "Federal auditors found the agency erred in its cost comparisons, and skeptical lawmakers said TSA did so to stop the use of private contractors to do screening — an option Congress wrote into the 2001 law that created the agency."

   He further wrote that, "Sixteen airports throughout the country use private screeners under the Security Partnership Program, but TSA has barred other airports from joining the program."

   Oh, and by the way, the key TSA critic is Congressman John L. Mica, who is the chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

   In other areas of dysfunction or decline, we have only to look at Mark Helprin’s comments in The Wall Street Journal where he sounded the alarm: "...pirates attacked and executed four Americans in the Indian Ocean.  We, and the Europeans have endured literally thousands of attacks by the Somali pirates without taking the initiative against their vulnerable boats and bases even once.  Such paralysis is but a symptom of a sickness that started some time ago."

   He then commented about our U.S. Navy: "Sixty ships were commonly underway in America’s seaward approaches in 1998, but today there are only 20.  We are abdicating our role on the oceans."

   And, as Newsmax Magazine reported,  "The United States is sure to be hit with weapons of mass destruction, says Vahid Majidi, the FBI’s assistant director in charge of the FBI’s Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate."

   And that’s how things really are.

=================================

   It would seem that now several nations seriously threaten the security of today’s world, among them, Iran.  We seem impotent in the face of all that has been done and all that still continues.

   We know that Iran is responsible for so much of the more serious ordnance that we have had to face on the battlefields of the Mideast and now we hear that NATO forces have seized Iranian rockets in Afghanistan (as reported by the Associated Press).

   Also The Wall Street Journal has revealed that, "Evidence surfaced recently showing that the Venezuelan state-owned oil monopoly, known as PdVSA, has been selling ‘reformate’ — used to upgrade the quality of gasoline — to Iran in violation of the Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability and Divestment Act of 2010."

   Under the current U.S. administration, a failure to seriously respond is expected.

   Another major problem for us is China. They not only now hold a gigantic amount of our national debt, their Chinese owned AVIC technology business entity entered into a joint venture with GE, and with California-based U.S. Aerospace Inc., is doing what it can to gain Pentagon contracts.

   Also, China is now bringing about a major global shift in international commerce as that nation becomes the number one trading partner of the six "G-20" nations.  And we now see prices of primary high-tech ingredients (rare-earth metals) surge to new highs while China keeps a tight control on the supply.

   And Eli Lake reports in The Washington Times: "China’s nuclear arsenal poses the most serious ‘moral threat’ to the United States among nation states, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper told the Senate."

You have been warned.

=================================

   On our healthcare front (or the lack thereof), the convolutions and misrepresentations abound beyond all reason.  Obama did offer power to the states to create their own solutions for healthcare.  But it would seem he really didn’t mean it.

   As an editorial in The Wall Street Journal noted, "Any state that the Administration decided deserved a waiver would still need to cover the same number of uninsured, and its coverage would still need to include the same comprehensive benefits and be as ‘affordable’ as the Administration says it should be.  That is, it must be as heavily subsidized."

   As further noted, "Democrats are more than happy to give the states more freedom, as long as the states use it to impose comparable government control."

   Translation:  No freedom at all.  And, on how things are going, Scott Gottlieb of the same Journal points out, with regard to Medicaid, "New research shows that patients on this government plan fare poorly."

   In fact, as he says, "Medicaid is worse than no coverage at all."  And as Chris Gonsalves reports, "A $5 billion handout to states, big corporations, and Hollywood unions to subsidize health insurance for early retirees is threatening to bankrupt a major part of the year-old healthcare reform law, according to staffers of the House Energy Commerce Committee."

   And, as you may have heard, the rising costs that are involved are pushing more and more small to middle-sized businesses to finance or in other ways provide their own medical coverage for employees.

   Meanwhile, Grassfire Nation announces that, "Delivery of Grassfire Nation’s symbolic waiver request to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, demanding exclusion from ObamaCare, has been underway for several days, and we are thrilled to report that more than 73,000 grassroots Americans took action — sending a clear message about their personal feelings on ObamaCare."

   And the journalist, Jon Christian Ryter was one of the first to report: "Michele Bachmann exposes that there was $105,464,000,000 in hidden appropriations buried in various places in Obamacare.  It was the bill that no member of Congress was allowed to read."

   It would seem they foresaw the voters coming reaction, so they built in the funding to thwart the will of the people as best they could.

   So, what have we got coming?  Perhaps something not too unlike a British report that reveals that, "A top official in the NHS (Britain’s healthcare system) has made the disturbing claim that premature babies should be left to die because it costs too much money and the success rate isn’t all that great."

   Thank you Dr. Daphne Austin.  You’re a real sweetheart, aren’t you?

=================================

   And now, about Social Security — or "Social Insecurity" as it is now often called — Charles Krauthammer reported in The Washington Post that, "Office of Management and Budget Director Jack Lew wrote just a few weeks ago in USA Today, the trust fund is solvent until 2037. ... This claim is a breathtaking fraud.  The pretense is that a flush trust fund will pay retirees for the next 26 years.

   "Lovely, except for one thing: The Social Security trust fund is a fiction."  He further shows us that, "If you don’t believe me, listen to the OMB’s own explanation (in the Clinton administration budget for fiscal 2000 under then-Director Jack Lew, the very same).

   "The OMB explained that these trust fund ‘balances’ are nothing more than a ‘bookkeeping’ device.  ‘They do not consist of real economic assets that can be drawn down in the future to fund benefits.’ "

   And, if that doesn’t grab you, try on this Senator Tom Coburn quote from Newsmax Magazine: " ‘We have stolen $2.6 trillion from it.  We put paper money in there.  The problem is, we spent the money — we didn’t just take it, we took it and spent it,’ Coburn said on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.  ‘Social Security ran about a $53 billion deficit last year — it’s projected to run a continuous deficit.’ "

   So, as you can see, no matter how it’s explained, you and I, and the rest of America have (once again) been given a royal shafting. (Unfortunately, there’s no nice way to put it.)

=================================

   Dustin Stockton has been asking some rather provocative questions, one of them, "Who is paying for the Wisconsin Democrats out-of-state accommodations?"  Very good question.

   He goes on to say, "Democrat members of the Wisconsin State Senate continue the stalemate over the state’s budget crisis by hiding in Illinois hotel rooms.  Our question is, who is paying for them to remain out of state?

   "Rumors that third party donors are financially supporting the renegade Senators have been floating around since the crisis began, leading us to believe that at least some of the Senators are in violation of Wisconsin campaign finance laws.  Wisconsin law clearly states that accepting such support is illegal while the State Legislature is in session."

   Very interesting.

   And, in other areas of the Wisconsin war front, we hear about that bomb threat made during a Wisconsin governor’s news conference, and an arrest of a left-wing protester as the responsible party.

   You didn’t know about that?  Well, how about SEIU protesters disrupting an Ohio Senators’ dinner and accosting restaurant workers at the Easy Street Café.  Did you know about that?

   And what about Wisconsin unions continuing to threaten and coerce local businesses.  Were you aware of that?

   And on and on it goes, endlessly, and the news about all of this is almost always a little local story with no regional or national coverage whatsoever.  Does that bother you at least a little bit?  I hope so.

=================================

   Well, finally the taxpayers in Wisconsin won.  The heavy-handed monopoly control by the public sector unions was finally broken.  But you can be sure, it will only serve to more violently radicalize the leftist goons who some believe will never quit until property is destroyed and there are dead bodies in the streets.

   Some think that’s the direction things are moving.  This writer would like to think that is not so. But of course whenever there is violence or threats of violence it seems to be treated in much of the media according to ideological inclinations.

   By way of example (as reported by The Media Research Center): "Two months after trying to blame Conservatives for the senseless shootings in Arizona, the leftist media are ignoring actual death threats against Wisconsin legislators who voted to restore fiscal sanity to their state budget."

   One of the death threats went as follows: "Please put your things in order because you will be killed and your families will be killed due to your actions the last eight weeks.  Please explain to them that this is because if we get rid of you and your families then it will save the rights of 300,000 people and also be able to close the deficit that you have created.  I hope you have a good time in hell."

   Evidently the media doesn’t feel this is all that bad — after all, they did say "please."

=================================

   Now what happens to that new law in Wisconsin?  Well, the left-wing Secretary of State, Doug La Follette delayed the implementation as long as possible, so a left-wing judge might be able to stop it with a nice "liberal" decision.

   And what happened?  As reported by The Wall Street Journal, "A Wisconsin circuit court judge (Judge Maryann Sumi) put on hold a new law that would curtail collective bargaining rights for public unions, delaying for now, the implementation of bitterly contested legislation that drew thousands of protesters and shut down the legislature."

   Oh, and just in case you might like to know, we understand the judge’s son used to work for the AFL-CIO and SEIU unions.  How nice.

=================================

   As Bryan Shroyer reports, "The economy of the state of Michigan has been choked off in part by public employee unions.

   "Republican Gov. Rick Snyder has proposed a bill (which has already passed the Assembly) that would give the people an opportunity to break any labor deals that are contributing to failing schools or bankrupt cities.  As you would expect, the corrupt union bosses have staged massive protests similar to those in Wisconsin in an attempt to disrupt the political process."

   In addition, he reports that, "Similarly, Ohio has often been held hostage by its public employee unions.  There’s a bill that’s already passed the Senate in Ohio that would limit collective bargaining rights for those unions, including taking away their ability to shut down government by striking."

   And, "In Iowa, the state’s House is debating a bill that would limit the powers of that state’s public employee unions as well.  It has a good shot to make it out of the House, but the state’s Senate is controlled by politicians who are in the pockets of the corrupt unions.  It will be difficult to win in Iowa, but the issue is likely to draw a lot of attention in this early Presidential caucus state."

   And finally, "New Hampshire, which holds the country’s first Presidential primary, is considering a right-to-work bill that will stop corrupt unions from forcing their employees to pay union dues, which often end up being used for political blackmail.  The bill has passed the House, but liberal Gov. John Lynch is almost certain to veto it."

   Mr. Shroyer not only writes about these problems, he is an activist.  He’s currently the Executive Director of the Western Representation PAC.

   Bryan Shroyer further reports that, "The lone Republican on the San Jose (California) City Council, Pete Constant, wants to save the city $70,000 annually by performing his own secretarial work and not hiring an assistant, to aid with the city’s $100 million budget deficit.

   "Rather than thank him for acting fiscally responsible, the Confidential Employees Organization, a public sector union representing Council employees, filed a lawsuit demanding that he fill the position regardless of the city’s financial situation."

   Another example of the actions of so many of today’s union bosses, would be The Blaze report on the Internet: "About 80 medical workers and their representatives took two yellow school buses to the headquarters of ESSA Bank of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.

   "The SEIU demonstrators weren’t there to complain about the bank. Instead, they demanded to meet with bank president and CEO Gary Olson, who also chairs the Pocono Medical Center board of directors."

   It was explained that, "SEIU represents the hospital’s service workers.  A portion of the hospital’s 550 service employees — technicians, laborers, housekeepers — are currently on a three-day strike, demanding that management allow them to make union membership and dues-paying compulsory."

   As was shown on a video, "When an employee (of the bank) insisted the bank was trying to run a business and would not tolerate the disruption, workers started to clap and chant more union slogans."

   They did all they could to disrupt, and essentially, to take over the bank headquarters.  Forceful intimidation — that’s the way they like to operate.

   Emily Esfahani Smith has fully researched the issue and now reveals a coming massive attack on Fox News by very well financed far-left activists.

   She writes, " ‘The strategy that we had toward Fox was basically a strategy of containment,’ said David Brock, the founder of Media Matters.  Now the strategy of the liberal group has changed. The new strategy is ‘war on Fox.’  Politico reports that Brock’s plan of ‘guerilla warfare and sabotage’ against Fox is almost assuming the strategy of grassroots political activism."

   Smith further reported that, "Media Matters, Brock said, is assembling opposition research files not only on Fox’s top executives but on a series of mid-level officials. It has hired an activist who has led a successful campaign to press advertisers to avoid Glenn Beck’s show.

   "The group is assembling a legal team to help people who have clashed with Fox to file lawsuits for defamation, invasion of privacy or other causes.  And it has hired two experienced reporters, Joe Strupp and Alexander Zaitchik, to dig into Fox’s operation to help assemble a book on the network, due out in 2012 from Vintage/Anchor."

   The report continues: "Brock said Media Matters also plans to run a broad campaign against Fox’s parent company, News Corp., an effort which most likely will involve opening a United Kingdom arm in London to attack the company’s interests there.

   "The group hired an executive from MoveOn.org to work on developing campaigns among News Corp. shareholders and also is looking for ways to turn regulators in the U.S, U.K., and elsewhere against the network."

   If this effort should prove to be successful it will be the beginning of the end of yet another great freedom — the freedom of accurate information.  The question is, what can be done about this?  And will enough folks care enough to do anything anyway?  I wonder.

=================================

   As reported by The Wall Street Journal, Bernard von NotHaus was convicted of counterfeiting money. He had been producing silver coins which he had suggested would be a much more stable and dependable bartering tool for goods and services — far more than the less valuable inflating American paper dollar.

   And, interestingly, "So alarming has been the collapse of the dollar that the legislatures in as many as a dozen American states are considering using their authority — under Article 1, Section 10 of the Constitution — to make legal tender out of gold and silver coins. ... However, the von NotHaus verdict will stand as a warning."

   He may be expected to remain in prison for several years.  This may, at times, be the home of the brave but it certainly is no longer the land of the free.

=================================

   There is a very special book out about American law schools.  It’s title is, "Schools for Misrule" by Walter Olson. The book suggests that those schools that train our lawyers and, ultimately, our judges, command a far greater power and influence in our society than any other division of the American educational system.

   As reviewed in the WSJ by John O. McGinnis, "...law professors serve the interests of the legal profession above all else; they seek to enlarge the scope of the law, creating more work for lawyers even as the changes themselves impose more costs on society."

   That is a primary premise put forth by Mr. Olson.  He also observed that, "Tenure permits aging 1960s and 1970s ideologues to enjoy positions of academic power."  And he suggests that, "...intellectual life in the legal academy would be more vibrant if law schools were less lopsidedly left-liberal."

   It would seem to be much like the educational system in general in America.  It would seem that we educate toward a particular political ideology, with an eye toward professional protectionism, without regard to failure and the ultimate costs so often the result of such an academic misadventure.

   Will we learn from all of this or will we continue to get a failing grade?  Stay after school and read the book.

=================================

   Corruption seems to be just about everywhere.  We are even seeing ads that headline: "Keep corruption risk on your radar," and then explain such things as: "With Dow Jones Anti-Corruption, you’ll screen third parties, quickly spot potentially risky business relationships..." and offer you, "The only global database of state-owned companies that enables your firm to proactively detect risky relationships."

   And speaking of corruption and other damaging behaviors, nothing seems to out due the political scene.

   As reported by Darla Dawald, the National Director of the Patriot Action Network, "Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and the Democratic leadership in the U.S. Senate are refusing to accept a modest agreement to fund the federal government through the end of the fiscal year.

   "And time is running short. What’s Senator Reid wrangling over: A mere $51 billion in additional budget cuts, which amounts to a few days of government deficit spending."

   And as further reported, "Reid’s stonewalling isn’t just about dollars and cents, or saving federal funding for a Cowboy Poetry Festival.

   "Reid and the Democrats in Congress are setting the groundwork for a partial government shutdown so they can attempt to lay the blame at the feet of the Tea Party Republicans in Congress and gain politically.  They’re simply putting electoral politics over the business of our nation."

   It might also be added that Reid and the other Democrats don’t want to cut the give-aways to NPR and to the Planned Parenthood group, in spite of the terrible revelations about their operations.

   And we’ve heard the recording of Senator Charles Schumer instructing fellow Democrats on how to paint Republicans and House Speaker Boehner as extremists and Tea Party zealots.

   As Schumer said, "I always use the word ‘extreme.’  That’s what the caucus instructed me to use..."  Is there any doubt now as to who they are and what they are?  I think not.

=================================

   The shame continues.  As reported in The Wall Street Journal, "Departing members of the House of Representatives awarded millions of dollars in extra pay to aides as they closed down their offices, according to lawmakers’ spending records.

   "The 96 lawmakers paid their employees $6.7 million, or 31% more in the fourth quarter of 2010 than they did, on average, in the first three quarters of the year."

   Since they were put out of office by the voters, I guess this is just their way of thumbing their nose at the taxpayer.

   In other areas, the CEO of GE, one of Obama’s favorite White House associates, has really got it made.  GE paid NO taxes in America this last year — no taxes at all. That’s what the records show.

   "What a coincidence," writes Ed Morrissey.  "I’m sure that GE’s ability to generate $14.2 billion in profits, $5.1 billion in the US, and end up getting back $3.2 billion from taxpayers has nothing at all to do with its political connections and favorable tax breaks and loopholes it has pushed through Congress," he wrote, tongue in cheek.

   And, as Trish Turner reveals on the Patriotic Action Network, "Any way you slice it, $287,273 is a lot of money, especially in this economy.  For one-term Senator Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), up for re-election in 2012, that’s the amount of personal property taxes she failed to pay since 2007 on a plane she and her husband, a millionaire businessman, partially owned."

   These examples and the many others this writer has been revealing to you for some time now, may seem like a growing, sizable number of irresponsibilities but, in truth, it’s only a drop in the bucket.

   Some might have the unmitigated gall to suggest that it might be high time to empty that bucket, once and for all.  My, what a novel idea. Something to think about?

=================================

   The drugging of America continues as new, extremely dangerous compounds are developed and released to the public (especially to the young) by unscrupulous types who are only too aware of the sad fact that politicians are always slow to create and pass appropriate new laws to control such substances.

   A few in the media have actually been willing to mention this problem, including the Dr. Oz show. But, unfortunately, such shows have also offered time to explore the marijuana issue and have been universally unwilling to reveal the absolutely devastating available medical evidence that shows just how very dangerous "pot" can be.

   Too bad.  But then, we don’t want to interrupt the decline now do we?

=================================

   Monica Charen writes, in The Washington Times, "My friend E. J. Dionne Jr., a liberal columnist for The Washington Post, is a fine man with, I feel safe in asserting, a warm heart.  But he betrays in a recent column, a persistent failing of the left, imperviousness to evidence." (A most insightful observation of the mind-set found in most political ideologues.)

   As she continues, "Like most liberals, Dionne is enchanted with the idea of Head Start, the romance of a government program that would provide care, nutrition, education, and skills to impoverished preschoolers in order to erase, to the degree possible, the handicaps poverty imposes."

   As she further notes, "It would have been worth the $166 billion taxpayers have spent on the program since 1965 if a significant portion of Head Start alumni did improve their educational outcomes and escape poverty.  But that did not happen."

   Unfortunately, "As any number of studies have demonstrated over the years, the effects of Head Start are modest to nugatory."  And that’s just the beginning of our problems with education.

   On higher levels, we’re just not turning out the medical professionals, the scientists or the engineers that we need.

   And as Don Bauder reports in The Reader, "Back in 1950, almost 31 percent of working Americans had manufacturing jobs.  Now the figure is below 10 percent.  Many analysts put the blame on American companies that send such jobs to low-and-slave-wage nations during the off-shoring wave that picked up momentum in the 1980s and hasn’t stopped."

   He also spotlighted another part of the problem moving in the other direction.  "Well-educated foreigners come to the United States and take good jobs, largely in high-tech.  Congress set up the program in 1990, although its roots go as far back as 1952."

   As Don Bauder explained, "The rationale is that there is a shortage of trained Americans for such employment. Nonsense. ... The importation of foreign workers is just one more method to keep wages down and profits up, they claim."

   Well, that’s partly true, and the failure of our American educational system also shares a good portion of the blame.

=================================

   In other sectors of the educational scene we see such things as a Northwestern University course (in the Chicago area) that offered live demonstrations of the sex act — that’s right — right in the classroom.  (We understand mounting public pressure concluded that educational opportunity, finally after unsuccessful attempts at defending the course, by the University.)

   As you may recall, this is not the first totally inappropriate study program attempted in a number of our public schools.

   So, what’s next?  The best "next" that we can imagine would be a genuine attempt toward reasonable educational solutions.  In other words, we’ve got to take a hard look at what we have been doing and look for meaningful and constructive alternatives.

   Veronique de Rugy, in Newsmax Magazine, suggests, "Pouring money into public schools hasn’t made our students smarter.  It’s time to give parents more power and force schools to compete to get American education on track."

   And, as The Wall Street Journal suggests, "The steep deficits that states now face means that teacher layoffs this year are unavoidable. Parents understandably want the best teachers spared.

   "Yet in 14 states it is illegal for schools to consider anything other than a teacher’s length of service when making layoff decisions."  As the editorial points out, "New evidence supports merit-based dismissals."  The unions will just love that, won’t they?

   But as Dustin Stockton make quite clear, "Eliminating collective bargaining would make it easier for school districts and other government agencies to negotiate performance based contracts with measurable results-based criteria, rewarding those employees that excel."

   So now you have it.  So now what do we do?  What do you think?

=================================

   The invasion from Mexico continues, as usual.  As Representative Tom Rooney reports in The Washington Times, "On Aug. 1, 2010, a drunken driver named Carlos Montano purportedly crashed into a car carrying three nuns in Prince William County, Va., killing one and severely injuring the other two.

   "This was not his first brush with the law — he had been arrested twice on drunken-driving charges before this fatal crash.

   "On June 27, 2010, authorities said David Luna Sanchez stabbed Eduardo Herrera in the leg and heart, then left him to die in his girlfriend’s arms.  Like Mr. Montano, this was not his first arrest, in fact, it was not even the first time he attacked Mr. Herrera — in 2008, Mr. Sanchez was arrested with two accomplices in an attack on Mr. Herrera with a bat.

   "On Feb. 10, 2011, Jose Oswaldo Reyes Alfaro brutally attacked six people in a Manasas, Va., neighborhood, police said, killing three and severely injuring three others. He, too, had a history of run-ins with the law — in 2004, he was found guilty of misdemeanor assault and battery.

   "Besides being repeat offenders, what did these three criminals have in common?  All were in this country illegally. All were eligible for deportation due to their prior offenses. And all were ignored by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and allowed to stay in this country to escalate their criminal activities."

   What is wrong with us?

   Of course once in a while we actually make a few arrests (that reveal just how organized this violent invasion really is).  As Jerry Seper reported in The Washington Times, "A federal grand jury in Richmond has indicted 22 members of a suspected fraudulent-document-trafficking ring based in Mexico, with cells in 19 U.S. cities in 11 states, that reportedly sold high quality phony identification cards to illegal aliens and used beatings, kidnappings and murder in dealing with competitors and disciplining its own members."

   This same publication also noted, in an important story by Carol M. Swain and Sauraba Sharad, that, "On January 25, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano gave a talk at the University of Texas at El Paso, in which she touted the Obama administration’s success at protecting the southwestern border."

   Unfortunately, just 3 days after that Napolitano speech, news events revealed that possibly some illegal immigration was in decline with Mexicans, but that it is definitely on the upswing from terrorists countries.  How nice.

   We find that The Washington Times has been keeping up with such important trends, as with the illegal alien problems, and also offers many other important stories that are just not allowed in the general mass media.

=================================

   If there was any doubt before, there should be absolutely no doubt anymore.  As Meredith Jessup reports, "On April 8, dozens of ‘academic, business and government policy-thought leaders’ are scheduled to gather for a forum reminiscent of the 1944 Bretton Woods gathering that helped launch the World Bank and International Monetary Fund following World War II."

   As further detailed, "The George Soros-funded Institute for New Economic Thinking will hold its annual conference April 8-11, 2011, at the Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods, NH.  According to the group’s web site, the event will bring together economic figures such as Soros, Former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and former Fed Chairman Paul Volcker to discuss a new globalized vision of economics in the post-war world."

   Among the many additional statements and addendums made: "Crisis and trauma offer us a rare opportunity..." and "Promoting ‘real’ justice and equity requires ‘reinventing’ the prevailing economic model — capitalism."

   If you’ve read the other revelations that this writer and others have made available to you, concerning George Soros and his "friends," and now you have read this announcement, consider yourself to be properly forewarned.

   Now there should be absolutely no doubt as to what is going to happen to us all, unless we see to it that what is planned is not allowed to be followed through on.  That is what the few who are well-informed are saying.

   Now, what do you say and what are you going to do about it?  That is the important question.

=================================

   Richard W. Rahn, a senior fellow at the Cato Institute and the chairman of the Institute for Global Economic Growth offers some very interesting observations (as published in The Washington Times): "If people disagree with a government spending priority — that is, they think the government is spending too much or too little on a particular program, they have the basic right to advocate for more or less.

   "What is corrupt is to use taxpayer dollars to lobby for more money for one’s favorite program or self-interest."

   He then illustrates this so very clearly with the example of National Public Radio (NPR) issuing on-air pleas for the listeners to get in touch with members of Congress to ask for their vote for continuing taxpayer funds for NPR.

   Mr. Rahn further pointed out that, "Taxpayer dollars are also used to fund international organizations, which in turn, lobby the U.S. Congress for not only more money for themselves, but also for higher taxes on the American people."

   And one final observation that brings the whole thing into the glaring daylight, with everything from this sort of corruption to the massive government mismanagement and general waste that is also so intrinsic to the process: "If a person pulled a gun on you and demanded your wallet, and then said: ‘I am going to use 50 percent of your money for good purposes and I am going to waste and mismanage 30 percent, and the final 20 percent I am going to use for my own pleasure and to pay off my cronies who protect me,’ would you think the robber should be sent to jail or praised as a public servant?"

   Interesting question, yes?

=================================

   The battles continue. As reported by Jonathon M. Seidl in The Blaze, "We’re familiar with the ‘war on Christmas,’ but what about Easter?  It looks like it’s starting.

   "An Ohio town (Munson Township) has decided that the local Easter egg hunt is just too exclusive, and decided to rename this weekend’s seasonal event to ‘The Spring Egg Hunt.’ "

   And the battles go on like this all over America. And it has become even more ominous.

   As Chris Gonsalves and Kathleen Walter inform us in Newsmax Magazine: "The Muslim Brotherhood, with the complicity of the Obama administration, has infiltrated the U.S. government at the highest levels and is influencing American policy that leaves the world’s Christians in grave danger, warns internationally known evangelist Franklin Graham.  ‘The Muslim Brotherhood is very strong and active here in our country,’ Graham tells Newsmax.  ‘We have these people advising our military and State Department.  We’ve brought in Muslims to tell us how to make policy toward Muslim countries.’ "

  And, we might add, "A new report from the Roman Catholic aid agency, ‘Aid to the Church in Need,’ supports Graham’s contention that the persecution of Christians worldwide has worsened exponentially in the past few years."

   Let there be no doubt, the dark clouds are gathering.

=================================

   With taxpayer funded aid going to nations that very clearly do not like us at all, The Washington Times shows us a reasonable solution.  "Seeking to shut off federal aid going to foreign countries that ‘don’t like us,’ a Texas Republican Congressman said March 16 that lawmakers should vote separately on funding for every foreign nation receiving taxpayer money."

   We might add that with our dire financial condition being what it is, perhaps it might make even more sense to consider a cessation of all gifted funds leaving our shores.  In other words, we are in such a fiscally troubled state that we just might need to really rethink outside obligations and focus on our own internal situation.  Just a thought.

=================================

   This was the month of everything from unrest and revolution in the Middle East to terrible devastation in Japan.  It’s an uneasy situation for any time in history — it’s particularly unsettling for us in this time of U.S. financial and governmental chaos.

   The markets have tried to begin a recovery, encouraged by a new, fresh breeze in our House of Representatives, but world events and the continuation of the weakening efforts on our national foundation are having a sobering effect.

   There seems no doubt — we have difficult times ahead for us all.  It is a time for involvement as never before.

A Taxing Month For All

   April, 2011.  Well, it’s another month and another dose of reality. Looking over the last two years, we see some truly notable differences between 2009 and today.

   Back then, the average price for a gallon of gas was $1.83.  Today it has gone as high as $4. a gallon (more or less). Gold was selling for approx. $853.25 an ounce.  Now we have seen it reach as high as $1,500. an ounce.  Corn was listed at around $3.56 (yellow – Central II).  Now it has ranged well beyond $6.33.

   The unemployment rate (the lesser government figure – overall) was at 7.6%.  Now, at best it ranges no better than 9.4% and 15.8% for blacks.  The number given for long-term unemployed was 2,600,000 in 2009.  Today in 2011, it has topped out at over 6,400,000.

   And over the last two years, the poverty rate has gone up 8.3%, the long-term unemployed has risen by 146.2% and our national debt has gone up to over 14 trillion dollars!  All of this, and more, under this current administration.

   Those are some of the hard facts from the public records.  That’s what reality looks like.

=================================

   We were surprised to see a news report that stated we now have over twice the number of people employed in the business sector in America now employed in the government. Frankly that is not easy to believe but evidently that is the way our "situation" has progressed.

   Along with that, we also understand from numerous reports that the wages in our nation are no longer able to keep up with the growing inflation. And the Associated Press now reports that, "The four companies still receiving government bailout aid won’t be able to raise the amount of cash they pay out to their top executives this year, the administration’s pay czar has ruled."

   One would normally assume that companies with so dismal a record that they had to be bailed out — one would assume that logic and reason would suggest their executives would experience lower pay, no bonuses and even some firings for their exceptionally poor performance.

   But logic and reason play no part in too much of the business sector these days and also in our new government.  As the AP report continued, "The rulings clear the way for millions of dollars in salary and bonuses to be paid out by companies that are still repaying the billions in aid they received during the financial crisis from the government’s $700 billion Troubled Asset Program."

   Even as deferred stock awards, our taxpayer’s money continues to award incompetence.  But then, that’s the normal way so much tends to work in just about every area.

=================================

   As the Associated Press has noted, "President Barack Obama promised to change Washington’s ways. Yet he is as caught up in them as ever."  As further noted, in the early part of this month, "By week’s end, Obama was mired in budget negotiations, canceling trips and scrambling to hold off a government shutdown that would surely erode the public’s faith in his leadership."

   It could also be noted that he and the Democrat controlled Senate have been holding military pay and anything else they can use as hostage to obtain as small a budget cutback as possible.  In other words, they get most of what they want or they allow the government to shut down and, of course, blame it on the Republicans.

   And that’s the way it came down and, as Mark Levin said about the budget deal, "This is an historic scam."  And then, after that, the Federal Reserve’s low interest is now seen as wiping out the retirement funds of many senior citizens, according to a number of financial publications.

   And then Andrew Taylor noted in an AP release that, "A new budget estimate shows that the spending bill negotiated between President Barack Obama and House Speaker John Boehner would produce less than 1 percent of the $38 billion in promised savings by the end of this budget year."

   And from Money News: "Some economists are scaling back their estimates for growth this year, in part because flat wages have left households struggling to pay higher gasoline prices."

   And so it goes, as we get hit from every direction.

=================================

   Now Grassfire Nation is reporting on the Internet about the budget compromise (as are so many others that are not restricted by a left-wing mind set).

   And what is being said? "The budget compromise struck has been exposed by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) as a sham.  The CBO reports that the alleged $38 billion in cuts actually amounts to just $353 million in real cuts."  It is further reported that, "The rest of the alleged ‘cuts’ were accounting tricks and supposed ‘future’ cuts.

   And when the full effect of all the increases in spending are taken into account, Politico reports that ‘CBO now says that total discretionary outlays for 2011 are higher — not lower— by about $3.3 billion, than it had estimated in December.’ "

   What do you think the legal actions would be, both civil and criminal, if such accounting shenanigans were to be discovered in the private corporate setting?  Actually, such deceptions are discovered in the private sector from time to time and serious legal actions are then often taken.

   Why does the government and its politicians seem to be immune to such dishonesties?  Good question, don’t you think?

=================================

   In spite of all that was revealed, Obama is evidently depending on the liberal media to gloss over the CBO revelations while he rips and ridicules any Republican plans to actually attempt to really get the massive spending under control.

   As reported in a Reuters news service release, "Obama tried to take the initiative in a sharply political speech that was his first since he announced that he was running for re-election in 2012."  As further reported, "Obama devoted much of his speech to attacking their plan (the Republicans) to overhaul the government health programs, Medicare and Medicaid, while reducing taxes on wealthy individuals and businesses."

   It was also noted that, "Obama offered few specifics on how to curb spending.  But he said he wanted to end tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans, enacted under President George W. Bush."

   That’s what we need.  Cut off one of the most important sources of private funds for new development and job growth.  Smart move, Mr. President.

   The ruling party is doing all that it can to blame the Republicans for the budget problems and how such difficulties, without Democratic resolution, puts the nation at risk for a government shutdown.  They tell us we must have a budget and it’s the Republicans fault for holding things up.

   Of course they don’t want you to remember that last year, when the Dems controlled both legislative houses and the White House, they never bothered to pass any sort of budget — none at all. That’s the thinking along the beltway.

   It was all summed up by former White House Counselor Ed Gillespie. He pointed out that Obama suffers from "Deficit Attention Disorder."  And we are all suffering as a result.

=================================

   As Pete Kasperowicz writes about the drama recently experienced on the floor of the House of Representatives, "The House floor erupted into a chaotic scene as House Democrats tried to upset Republican plans to pass their 2012 budget resolution."  He further wrote that, "The drama erupted when Democrats began to shift their votes to ‘present,’ with Democrats and Republicans alike standing to shout at one another and the presiding officer in a scene more akin to the British Parliament than the U.S. House."

   The plan still managed to pass in the House but it is assumed to have no chance whatsoever in the Democrat controlled Senate and the veto that always looms from the White House.  And the battles continue on, endlessly.

   As reported by Lawrence Kudlow in The Washington Times, "We thought tax reform meant lowering rates and broadening the base by eliminating or cutting back on various deductions, credits and loop-holes. That’s what the Bowles-Simpson commission proposed. That’s what Paul Ryan and David Camp are working on.  And that’s the pro-growth model."

   However, as Mr. Kudlow noted, "President Obama unveiled a much different tax-reform vision in his much-anticipated debt speech on April 13.  He would raise tax rates on upper-income earners and small businesses."  He further reported that, "Basically, the president is giving successful earners and small-business filers a double tax hike.  That’s what it really is."

   And, as reported in The Wall Street Journal, "Income tax revenues have been remarkably stable at 8% of GDP, regardless of tax rates.  The way to increase revenue is to grow the economy."  Oh no, we can’t do that.  That might be the right thing to do.

=================================

   According to the International Monetary Fund, inflation is putting global recovery at risk, as inflation fear drives gold prices to new heights.  And CNTV reports that, "World Bank President Robert Zoellick says the surge in food prices is the biggest threat to the world’s poor, pushing 44 million more people into poverty over the past year."

   And as if the tax load isn’t heavy enough on us all, "Tax compliance employs more workers than Wal-Mart, UPS, McDonald’s, IBM and Citigroup combined." (WSJ) And now Reuters reveals that, "Standard & Poor’s has threatened to downgrade the United States prized AAA credit rating unless the Obama administration and Congress find a way to slash the yawning federal budget deficit within two years."

   And, as reported by The Wall Street Journal, "The bulk of S&P’s analysis is taken up with repeatedly citing what it sees as next-to-no chance that Washington will do anything significant on deficit reduction this year or next."

   We have warned you many times and over a long period of time, about these problems, and we have warned you about the coming monetary collapse and what it will do to each and every one of us.  Now many others have joined the chorus.

   Maybe you should pay attention?  Maybe you should raise your voice with serious insistence?  Maybe you should.

=================================

   As reported by Newsmax magazine, "President Barack Obama wants Congress to double spending, to $900 million next year, on a conservation fund used to buy property for the federal government — even though the government already owns three out of every 10 acres in the country."

   That is but one of an almost endless array of spending plans and proposals from the current administration.  Of course there are some states that don’t want to be outshined by such national endeavors.  The practically bankrupt state of California is doing its best to take the lead.

   As Newsmax reports, "California voters passed a funding bill for a high-speed rail project based on lowball cost estimates and wildly inflated ridership predictions, according to a new report."

   As reported by Reason Foundation analyst Adam B. Summers, "Like most large public infrastructure projects, the high-speed rail project was sold to the public based on false promises, exaggerated benefits and lowball cost estimates."

   Meanwhile, the state continues its unending massive payouts in just about every area of operation.  A good example would be as noted in a Wall Street Journal article.  "Prison guards can retire at the age of 55 and earn 85% of their final year’s salary for the rest of their lives.  They also continue to receive medical benefits."

   You can wave good-bye to the left-coast anytime now.

=================================

   The Daily Bulletin newspaper showed two headlines recently, run side-by-side.  They read as follows: "California has 20 billion dollar budget deficit," and "The California Supreme Court has ruled that illegals can attend college and get full credit."

   It was also reported in the tarnished golden state that last year the yearly cost to California taxpayers from illegals use of hospital emergency rooms at just one hospital alone topped $25 million.  And the state pension system is sucking the state treasury dry.

   And the unemployment in the state remains exceptionally high.  And the cost of everything is reaching the stratosphere.  And payouts to special pet projects continue unabated.  Wave good-bye.

=================================

   The WSJ notes that, "The President floats another payroll tax hike."  And, the, "EPA rules force Shell to abandon oil drilling plans (Fox News)."  And Richard W. Rahn offers a very cogent observation in The Washington Times.  "Which two have done more to improve your life — Thomas Edison and Steve Jobs, or Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi?

   "Some people, in their pursuit of profit, benefit their fellow humans by creating new or better goods and services, and then by employing others. Others are parasites who suck the blood and energy away from the productive.  Such people are most often found in government."

   This writer wonders if such a revelation, accompanied by current events, motivated so many financiers to start switching their financial support away from the Democratic party at this time.

   As cogent observers have noted, we can only hope that trend will grow.  If it doesn’t, the price will be beyond measure.

=================================

   As the Wall Street Journal editorialized: "The Fed’s relentless easy monetary policy combined with Congress’ reckless spending have driven investors out of the United States and into Asia, South America and elsewhere in search of higher returns and more sustainable growth."

   As further noted, the worried International Monetary Fund, "...resolved to keep every option open to slow the flood of dollars pouring into their countries."  As rightly observed, it would seem to be one more defensive move.  "The world’s reaction to America’s mismanagement of the dollar and its eroding financial leadership."

   And as reported on the Dow Jones News wires: "Dollar resumes slide as US jobless claims jump — GDP shows slowdown."  And as the WSJ reports: "This year the dollar has hit record lows against the yen, Australian dollar, Swiss Franc and Singapore dollar, J.P. Morgan notes."

   But, so far, the credible reports show that American officials seem quite unconcerned about the U.S. dollar’s serious decline. However, someone must be finally getting at least a little bit concerned.

   As Jon Hilsenrath and Luca Di Leo tell us in The Wall Street Journal, "The Federal Reserve used its first-ever news conference to signal it will phase out a controversial program of pumping money into the financial system — and to reassure a skeptical public that the central bank is doing everything it can to control inflation and expand an uneven recovery that has yet to reach many Americans."

   Unfortunately the move is being promised after most of the severe damage has been done.  That’s what we hear and that’s what we see in most everyone’s everyday life.

=================================

   In a release from Scott Pace, an ex-senior NASA official, we learned that, "NASA’s fundamental problem is a lack of clear-cut direction and goals."  As he further elaborated, "The current path is a very risky one, and time is quickly running out to correct course."

   Well, no one can say that Obama’s NASA isn’t doing something.  The NASA Federal Credit Union is offering mortgages with nothing down.  (Didn’t that sort of thing get us in trouble not so long ago?)  Of course it’s only for a short time and only in Maryland, Virginia and in Washington, DC.

   That’s such a big help to everybody, isn’t it?  And what on earth is any part of NASA doing in that business?  Perhaps that’s almost all they can find to do, now that so much of the space assignment seems to have been terminated.

   Many cannot really understand why this conclusion has happened, especially since NASA’s main efforts have produced many dollars worth of financial return for every dollar invested.

   It has been almost the only government project ever to post such gains.  Maybe that’s the problem?  Maybe that’s too much out of the mainstream of our current government’s primary purpose.  Something to think about.

=================================

   As reported in The Washington Times, "Less than three weeks after a much-criticized House Republican hearing on the radicalization American Muslims, Senate Democrats countered with a hearing of their own — this one focusing on protecting the civil rights of Muslims."

   As observed, "The two hearings highlight the chasm between the Republican-led House and the Democratic-led Senate on the issue of balancing the religious and civil rights of Muslims against the need to protect the country against radical offshoots of Islam."

   In a later report in the same publication, Jeffrey T. Kuhner tells us, "President Obama is presiding over the end of American dominance in the Middle East. Across the region, U.S. power is receding — and radical Islam is filling the void.  Mr. Obama has betrayed our allies and emboldened our enemies.  He is slowly helping make the Middle East safe for jihadists, thereby undermining America’s national security."

   However, we cannot give all of the credit to our president.  Arab pressures are exerted throughout today’s federal government.  The Syrians present a good example of this.

   As detailed in The Wall Street Journal, "The argument made by the Syria Lobby runs briefly as follows: The Assad family is occasionally ruthless, especially when its survival is at stake, but it’s also secular and pragmatic.  Though the regime is Iran’s closest ally in the Middle East, hosts terrorists in Damascus, champions Hezbollah in Lebanon and has funneled al Qaeda terrorists into Iraq, it will forgo those connections for the right price."

   Oh yes, surely we can trust them, now can’t we?

=================================

   George P. Shultz, a former Secretary of State (and holder of a number of other titles), wrote a meaningful opinion piece for the WSJ in which he pointed out that, "The Constitution doesn’t mention Czars."

   Many facts were then brought forth and one key observation was that, "Uncountable White House aides are a product of a broken cabinet-nomination process. This is not the form of government the Founders intended."

   And, as noted in The American Spectator, "A proposal by Senators Schumer & Alexander and others to eliminate the confirmation process for hundreds of political appointees and basically create more executive branch ‘czars’ eliminates the confirmation process which removes the only check the legislative branch has over many presidential appointments."

   And what is the executive level feeling about all of this?  As The Daily Caller reports, "In marked contrast to vows as a candidate not to use presidential signing statements as ‘an end run around Congress,’ President Obama released a statement on the just-signed spending bill, saying despite the law’s restrictions on ‘czars,’ he will ‘construe’ the law not to interfere with ‘presidential prerogatives.’ "

   In other words, the hell with the law.  He’s going to do what he damn well pleases.  Have no doubt about that.

=================================

   More and more observers are coming to the conclusion that Obama is one of the strangest presidents this nation has ever had.  And quite a number are coming to the realization that he well may be the most dangerous, since the beginning of our nation.

   This is not only being recognized here in America — growing numbers of friends and former friends around the world are having more than second thoughts about us now. Even the royal wedding in London had a guest list of celebrities and leaders from everywhere — but the President of the United States and the First Lady were not among the invited world leaders.  This was no accident.

   And what was Obama doing around that period of time?  Well, he offered no Easter Presidential proclamation (which few would have expected him to do) but he and his wife did go to church on Easter Sunday.

   And, as you might have imagined, the pastor, Wallace Charles Smith was in good form, as usual.  And, as reported by The Blaze, "While the media rushed to report on the first family’s attendance of the predominantly black congregation, what it failed to mention are the views held by the church’s pastor.  And while those views have not been delivered in the same fiery manner as Obama’s former pastor, Jeremiah Wright, they sound eerily familiar."

   And how is Russia reacting to this American president?  The British paper — The Telegraph — observed that, "A top Kremlin official has told the United States, Russia wants ‘red button’ rights to a new US-backed missile defense system for Europe, a move that would allow it to influence the shield’s day-to-day operational use."

   This is something they would only attempt if they believe our country is now being run by rank amateurs.

=================================

   The Middle East is coming apart. Where and when it will end nobody knows.  We now read the headlines which tell us that alleged ex-Mujahedeen are in Libya helping the rebels. Egyptian Islamists are rejoining the protest movement in that country as well.

   A U.S. government report tells us that Iran is meddling in the affairs of Bahrain and is helping the government of Syria to crackdown on their rebels.  Also, some leading Egyptians, and their new interim government, are making serious moves to improve their relationship with established foes of America.

   And Pakistan is strongly suggesting that Afghanistan ally itself with Pakistan and China.  It is also being reported that al Qaeda is starting to make a comeback in Afghanistan.

   And all of this is happening as extremist Muslims all over the world stir into action — action of one kind or another.  And we have unfortunate examples of this, such as with the now Muslim-linked school shooter in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

   Today, America seems to have little to no influence, anywhere.  It is becoming a time of great tribulation.

=================================

   Recent news stories from the Wall Street Journal inform us that, "Supporters of ObamaCare acknowledge it will have some unintended consequences."  As further reported, "This new entitlement — which the chief actuary of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services estimates will cost more than $100 billion per year once it is fully implemented — will damage the country’s long-term fiscal outlook.  It also will introduce far-reaching negative effects on rewards to work and bizarre new inequities into American life."

   With all of this and so much more to worry about for the medical and financial health of the American people, what is being done to try and turn things around?  "Like nearly every other governor, Maine’s new Republican leader is trying to tame the cost of Medicaid. ... He just doesn’t know if Washington will let him — even though Maine has among the most generous programs in the country."

   And even the Senate has now repealed the unworkable tax-reporting requirement in the new healthcare law.  And, as reported in the WSJ that, "In February the federal Department of Health and Human Services selected seven states to get $240 million in demonstration grants this year to kick start the health care plan."

   But, as also reported, so far Oklahoma and New Hampshire don’t seem to want any part of it. And in Boise, Idaho the Patriot Action Network reports that, "Gov. C. L. ‘Butch’ Otter signed an executive order that prohibits receiving federal funding, for, or otherwise implementing, the (so-called) federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act."

   And The Grassroots Action group informs us that the Liberty Council now has, "...one of the most advanced private-sector lawsuits against Obama Care in the nation."  But with all of these things, you will still find Obama and his people fighting back.

   As the Fox Business channel has reported, "GOP members of the powerful U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee have stepped up their probe of secret back room negotiations and quid pro quo deals struck in health reform, after the White House stonewalled requests for detailed information and documents and only submitted a handful of press releases and a list of staffers in the health reform czar’s office, Congressional sources tell Fox Business (FBN)."

   And further noted, "As FBN’s Rich Edson reported, energy and commerce officials have largely stopped asking the Administration for information and instead are now targeting 12 interest groups and unions ‘identified by the White House as having been at the White House during the secret health care negotiations,’ and who played a key role in crafting the reform legislation, the committee says."

   And that’s the way the battle has been going.

=================================

   The major national abortion mill just never stops feeding on your tax money. In a Washington Times interview we read, "I joined Planned Parenthood because I wanted to help poor women with real health care needs.  I still do.  I learned that Planned Parenthood is not about women’s health at all.

   "Their primary profit center and their entire corporate culture is about abortions. ... My superiors actually instructed me to increase the number of abortions at my facility."

   That is a quote from a former Planned Parenthood clinic director — Abby Johnson. This same publication also reminded us, through an informative article by Rita Diller, that, "Last June, we broke the story ... that focused on $1.3 billion of government money received by Planned Parenthood from 2003 to 2008, which was left unaccounted for when the Government Accountability Office (GAO) issued a report on the expenditures of federal funds by the abortion giant."

   Problem solved?  Not even close. Anyone being held responsible?  Of course not.  And what have we got for the funds that are accounted for?  As the Times further reports (through Mona Charen).  It would seem that the infamous abortion mill has more to be concerned about.

   News about the hidden video revelations has been getting around.  As Miss Charen reports, "Over the course of the past few months, they’ve been stung by a group calling itself Live Action.  In one case a man and a woman posing as a pimp and a prostitute ... visited a Planned Parenthood clinic in Perth Amboy, N.J. There a Planned Parenthood manager coached the couple in how to obtain birth control, HIV tests, and abortions for prostitutes she was told were 14 and 15 years old."

   In another detailed article in The Washington Times, Charmaine Yoest and Anna Franzonello revealed that, "If you want to understand how big a role abortion plays in Planned Parenthood’s care of pregnant women, just read its fine print.

   "According to a ‘fact sheet’ detailing its ‘services’ for 2009, affiliates performed 332,278 abortions, saw 7,021 prenatal clients and made 977 adoption referrals.  That means for 97.6 percent of its 340,276 pregnant clients, abortion was Planned Parenthood’s provided ‘service.’ "

   And with the president seemingly willing to shut down the government if their funds were cut out of the budget, and with Harry Reid saying, "I’ll shut down the government before I’ll cut one penny of abortion funding." — With all of that you can see where today’s Democratic leadership stands on the issue and why the American taxpayer is once again stuck with the continued funding.

=================================

   So much of our more shameful media remains as always — as shameful as ever.  Some examples of what’s going on:  Mika Brzezinski went on a rant and Glenn Beck got hold of the video.  (You can easily see why the liberals love him so much.)

   As was seen and reported, "Mika revealed a lot about her character on MSNBC recently when she went on the attack and unleashed an ugly rant full of racism and sexism.  She blamed the problems of today solely on white men, specifically targeting the top 30 earners in the United States — clearly demonstrating her utter lack of knowledge on the economy."

   And The New York Times tried to bury Mike Huckabee’s top-selling book under their "Advice, How-To, and Miscellaneous" listing — away from its normal position on the "Non-Fiction" best-seller list.  Then all hell broke loose, especially with the spotlighted reporting by Newsmax magazine.

   Under pressure, The Times eventually relented and Newsmax was able to report that, "In a move few in the publishing industry have ever witnessed, The New York Times has relented and upgraded the best-seller status of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee’s latest book (‘A Simple Government’).

   "The turnabout came after Newsmax revealed the newspaper was politicizing its rankings to diminish the works of Fox News contributors.  ‘My publisher says that in all the years they’ve dealt with The New York Times, they have never changed their mind on a book like this,’ Huckabee said after the switch."

   Maybe what we need is a different source for best-seller listings.

=================================

   And the shame just goes on and on for the media. Now the Daily Caller tells us that, "Two mainstream news organizations are receiving hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars from Obamacare’s Early Retiree Reinsurance Program (ERRP) — a $5 billion grant program that’s doling out cash to companies, states and labor unions in what the Obama administration considers an effort to pay for health insurance for early retirees.  The Washington Post Company raked in $573,217 in taxpayer subsidies and CBS Corporation secured $722,388 worth of America’s money."

   How nice for them.  I guess you could say that ERRP is more than just an impolite reflex after a full meal at the public trough.

   In another incident, reported by The Palm Beach Post, "U.S. Rep. Allen West’s first town hall meeting since voting for a ‘controversial’ Medicare proposal (a much needed revamping) saw three hecklers removed — one in handcuffs — from a generally supportive crowd of about 500."

   Later, the heckler, who had to be handcuffed, was identified as a former left-wing Air America host.

   And then we hear that Glenn Beck will be leaving his early evening TV program at Fox News Network.  Naturally a number of progressive-liberal types were quick to suggest that their campaign of intimidation against advertisers and potential advertisers for Glenn’s show, contributed to the show’s conclusion.

   Newsmax offers a different view.  " ‘I am going to leave this program later this year, but I am not leaving Fox,’ Beck told viewers at the top of his TV program."

   It was further noted that, "Beck’s program is the nation’s third-highest rated cable news program, attracting nearly 2.2 million viewers a night.  Fox News and Beck stated that they will continue to ‘produce a variety of television projects for air on the Fox News Channel as well as content for other platforms including Fox News’ digital properties.’ "

   Now that’s more like it.

=================================

   Political corruption of every shape and form continues to spread throughout the land.  As shown by Newsmax magazine, "Barack Obama raised a record-shattering $750 million on his way to winning the 2008 presidential election. But the stunning flood of cash has triggered an investigation by the Federal Election Commission, which is taking a detailed look at the campaign’s records and transactions, including an unusual number of foreign donations."

   This writer was under the impression that foreign political campaign contributions were illegal.  Am I wrong about that?

   In another area of concern, Newsmax reports, "The powerful seniors’ lobby, AARP, stands to make more than a billion dollars over the next 10 years from the sale of supplemental Medicare policies under Obamacare, a House GOP report reveals.

   "The report from Reps. Wally Hersher, R-Calif., and Dave Reichert, R-Wash., alleges the Affordable Care Act will result in great demand for the Medigap policies that have the AARP stamp of approval, The Washington Post reported."

   How interesting, especially since we understand that AARP, a strong political supporter of Obama, had helped to craft the healthcare bill.  How very interesting.

   And on yet another matter, The Wall Street Journal reveals some disturbing facts.  "Here’s another reason to think the 2012 campaign is underway with a vengeance:  If a company wants a federal government contract, from now on it will first have to disclose if the company or its executives give more than $5,000 in political donations."

   As explained, "This latest federal rule comes courtesy of a new executive order now being drafted in the White House.  The order would implement parts of last year’s Disclose Act, which failed to pass Congress but was a favorite of Democrats because it would deter political contributions by business after last year’s ‘Citizens United v. FEC’ Supreme Court decision."

   As the WSJ put it, "Want a federal contract?  Show politicians the money."  With all of these and so many other similar serious problems, why don’t we got the Justice Department on this?

   Well, that’s not liable to happen.  Holder, the director of the Justice Department is a dependable Obama lap dog, as he has already proven himself to be many times over.  That’s the conclusion we hear.

=================================

   World Net Daily (WND) has done a serious study on the Obama mansion in Chicago.  It reveals that, "...three individuals other than Obama are listed in public records as owners and taxpayers on the property."

   It has been further discovered that, "...in December 2008, William Miceli, the attorney for convicted political operative Tony Rezko and a fundraiser for Obama, ownes the Obama home at 5046 S. Greenwood."

   And, "Now WND has discovered that, along with Miceli, there are at least two other people listed in public records as owners and taxpayers. ... a search of records shows that, in addition to Miceli, the Obama mansion is owned by Chicago Probate Judge Jane L. Stuart and Obama accountant Harvey Wineberg, both of whom are paying taxes on the property."

   And about Rezko, WND reminds us that, "In the 2008 presidential campaign, Rezko’s role in the purchase created a scandal that threatened to derail Obama’s presidential hopes.  The list price for the home was $1.95 million.  But the Obamas reportedly were able to negotiate a price of $1.65 million when Tony Rezko’s wife, Rita Rezko, closed on the purchase of an adjacent vacant lot for $625,000 on the same day.

   "The Obama’s later bought one-sixth of the adjacent lot from Rita Rezko, creating a buffer."  (That reduced the Rezko property to an unusable state for any reasonable development, but a fantastic deal for Obama.)

   A sweet deal, to be sure.  Of course Obama denied that he had coordinated the purchase with the Rezkos.  As WND noted, "Critics pointed out that any coordination with supporters would be a clear violation of Senate ethics rules."  (Obama was a Senator at the time.)

   And so it goes, with that and with everything else.  From now on you might as well start getting used to the idea of law, order, honor, and integrity as just words --- nothing more.

=================================

   In October of 2009, the Boeing company made an announcement.  They were going to establish a production plant for their 787 Dreamliners in North Charleston, South Carolina.  Since then Boeing has put out a great effort and spend billions to create a truly state-of-the-art facility.

   Unfortunately the unions, Obama and his National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) have other plans.  As announced in The Wall Street Journal, "President Obama and his union-beholden appointees at the National Labor Relations Board have asked the courts to intervene and force Boeing to stop production in South Carolina."

   Why?  Obama’s union friends don’t like it.  South Carolina doesn’t make union membership mandatory in order to hold a job.

   It is an absolutely unbelievable situation.  It wouldn’t be unexpected to find a government with such an absolute control over private business in Russia or China — but here in America?  It is the action of a dictatorship.  It’s as plain and simple as that.

   Growing numbers are beginning to see this and so many other similar controlling actions for what they are.  In fact, nine state attorneys general have sent a strong letter of complaint to the NLRB for trying such an irresponsible stunt.

   Obama and his minions are hoping the rest of you won’t pay that much attention to this, and certainly won’t rise up and get involved in the issue.

=================================

   Most of the union leaders have come to feel quite emboldened by Obama’s strong predisposition and a viewpoint that is most forgiving for almost anything the unions might care to do.

   We see boycott threats in Wisconsin, Ohio and almost anywhere else they might care to apply such pressures.

   One letter of demand for small and vulnerable businesses who just want to be left alone: "We’d ask that you reconsider taking a sign and stance to support public employees in this community.  Failure to do so will leave us no choice but to do a public boycott of your business.  And sorry, neutral means ‘no’ to those who work for the largest employer in the area and are union members. (AFSCME)"

   Add to that, signs about bed bugs, in front of hotels they have disputes with, death threats to politicians they disagree with, loud disruptions in and around businesses they are angry with. There are also examples of roughing up people.

   The union thugs are out there.  And sometimes it’s very strange — like with the Mid-Atlantic Regional Council of Carpenters hiring non-union help to picket businesses that hire non-union help.

   Why not?  The vast majority of media elements won’t call them on it.

=================================

   In Wisconsin, the battle with the unions has reached a fevered pitch with the unions doing all they can to oust a judge.  (They want a liberal judge in there, with favorable decisions for the unions, of course.)

   As noted by the WSJ, "Big labor went all out to seek revenge against Governor Scott Walker’s public union reforms, and they may have taken over the state Supreme Court in the bargain."  That certainly is what they are doing their best to do.

   As further noted, "Wisconsin voters went to the polls on April 5 in an election that could have flipped the state Supreme Court’s majority from conservative to liberal."  The liberal challenger declared victory, but the following day the County Clerk announced she, "...excluded some 14,000 votes..."

   When the tally was revised with the inclusion of the missing votes, the more conservative incumbent was shown to have won by a margin of over 7,000 votes.  Too bad similar rechecks and corrections didn’t seem to have been applied in so many other election venues over the last two years.  That’s what we’re hearing.

=================================

   There is one question circulating all over the Internet that just might deserve your attention.  The question is: "Did Obama try to mislead the American Public on the serious dangers in our national debt?"

   The question does seem to suggest the assumption that he could not be so ignorant on such matters as to not actually know of the obvious fiscal dangers.  Then why has he so often suggested that we are getting things under control and things aren’t that bad anyway?  Why is he trying to mislead us on such serious matters?

   That’s the thinking, and recently we have been informed that 64 U.S. Senators have signed and sent a letter to Obama demanding that he get our deficit under control.  And, guess what, 32 of the Senators are Democrats!  (Almost any search-engine request should be able to bring up that letter on line, so you can see it for yourself.)

=================================

   The security and general stability in the world leaves a lot to be desired.  The Iran threat grows as the sanctions have become little more than a joke.

   By way of example, Iran recently had an international "energy" bazaar at the Tehran International Fairground, starring the 16th annual Iran oil show.  It showcased Iran’s primary financial support — oil.

   It is where the U.S. has half-heartedly tried to have meaningful sanctions applied.  Lots of luck.  Over 450 foreign companies from just about everywhere attended the event.

   And what do we do?  As reported by The Wall Street Journal, "The Obama Administration has advertised its sanctions regime against Iran as the toughest ever applied and a great diplomatic success.  So what are we to make of its decision this week to punish only a single company doing business with Iran’s oil and gas industry — and a small fry at that?"

   Could it be that we can’t trust what our government says?  That couldn’t be, right?  And what else is happening that "big brother" might not want us to know about?

   The WSJ reveals that, "Pakistan has privately demanded the Central Intelligence Agency suspend drone strikes against militants on its territory, one of the U.S.’s most effective weapons against al Qaeda and Taliban leaders, officials said."

   And, "...the major issue confronting Greece may not be its solvency, but its governance.  The country is at the mercy of militant activists who are inspired by various factions of the hard left."

   And, "Police in Beijing detained more than 30 evangelical Christians as they attempted to gather outdoors for Easter services and confined about 500 to their homes, continuing a broad crackdown on dissent that has also targeted lawyers, bloggers and human-rights activists."

   And, "China has broken ground and taken over the economic future of a country whose nearest island to the U.S. mainland is Bimini, only 50 miles away.  The Nassau Guardian editorialized ‘The Bahamas has fallen fully into the embrace of China.’ " Things are really going well in the world, aren’t they?

   Everything else is working out so well, you’re probably wondering how our domestic security is going, right?  Just fine.  Our border with Mexico is still porous, if you know how to work around certain areas, and TSA is doing a great job checking out the most personal areas of our grandmothers and our little children.

   Another area where they seem especially diligent is with their "Screening of Passengers by Observation Techniques" plan.  Of course it’s more academic than practical — after all, we can’t have any "profiling," right?

   Michelle Malkin, who does an exceptional job of checking things out, has nailed it, as usual.  She writes, in The Washington Times, "TSA’s counterterrorism specialists failed to detect 16 separate jihad operatives who moved through target airports on at least 23 different occasions."

   One example she sites, "Stephen Lord, who specializes in homeland security issues at the Government Accountability Office, reviewed Justice Department documents showing that in December 2007 an individual who later pleaded guilty to providing material support to Somali terrorists boarded a plane at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport en route to Somalia."

   Others include an active supporter of al Qaeda, a bomb plotter, and on and on.  Ah, but we are so very diligent. In fact, we are so diligent that some citizens find they may have problems getting a passport if they have been chosen to answer an amazing new passport questionnaire that includes such questions as, "Who was present when you were born? Can you remember every address you’ve ever had?  Were you circumcised?  What was your mother’s residence one year before your birth?" — and all sorts of other questions of this nature, which, if you can answer them all correctly, identifies you as a very strange and unusual person, to be sure.

   Now, don’t you feel so much safer , knowing our government is on the job making things so much better for us all? Of course you do.

   A few thoughtful and experienced Democrats have finally decided it’s high time they began speaking out.  Lawrence J. Haas was a communications director for the then Vice President Al Gore and is now a senior fellow at the American Foreign Policy Council.  He’s saying that today’s Democratic leadership is not willing to do anything about the rising Islamist threat.

   A small number of others have expressed a similar concern, but there is definitely no rush to express concern from that side of the aisle.  However, far more "everyday" Americans are speaking out.

   As Amanda Rogers writes in the Mansfield News-Mirror, "The district had planned to begin the Arabic studies program this semester at Cross Timbers Intermediate School, but decided to delay the program after almost 200 parents showed up at a parents meeting to question the move.

   "Funded by a federal five-year $1.3 million Foreign Language Assistance Program (FLAP) grant, the program was to then be integrated into the curriculum at Kenneth Davis and T.A. Howard Middle Schools in the fall and later to Summit High School students."

   Sentiment has been expressed by many others who also shared a mutual distaste for the development of such plans, but some also would like to know just where this rising Arabic movement in America has been coming from.  Good question.

=================================

   Recently Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano made a big speech about her wonderful, imagined accomplishments concerning border security.

   However, as it was pointed out in The Washington Times, "Her photo-op on the Mexican border was overshadowed by the one-year anniversary of the violent murder of an Arizona rancher." The article further reminded us that, "The murder put a face on the growing problem of crime perpetrated by illegal immigrants and compelled Arizonans to say, enough is enough."

   It was additionally pointed out that, "With the December murder of agent Brian Terry still fresh, the Border Patrol union was quick to dispute the secretary’s whitewash."

   We also remind our readers about the rise in general lawlessness in Arizona and in other border states from the criminal elements within the bulging illegal population in America, and the government signs posted in the southern counties of such states warning citizens that the area is no longer safe.

   So, what is actually being done about the problem?  As the WSJ reports, "A federal appeals court upheld a freeze on key provisions of an Arizona immigration law being challenged by the Obama administration and several immigration-rights groups."

   The paper further informs us that, "...a man who claims to favor immigration reform but helped derail that 2007 effort gets a free pass.  Today this same man is at it again, calling for a new bipartisan effort even as he diminishes the likelihood of any such reform with his continued partisan snipes.  The man is Barack Obama."  (And interesting observation from William McGurn.)

   And while all of this is going on we read that "Los Zetas," a very violent Mexican cartel is now getting a foothold in America.  And, it might also be added, "71% of households with children headed by an illegal immigrant used at least one welfare program in 2009."  That, according to the Center for Immigration Studies.

   And that’s how things are.

   Darla Dawald, the National Director of the Patriot Action Network reveals that angry protesters and anarchists were, once again, harassing a peaceful Tea Party event in the beleaguered state of Arizona.

   As she wrote, "A group of pro-illegal immigration/open borders protesters and anarchists attempt to take away the freedom of speech of Tea Party members by drowning them out.  Painted white faces, mocking ‘white people,’ waving Mexican flags, they called Arizona the state of hate."

   Interesting, since the very angry demonstrators were demonstrating the only actual example of hate.  But then, they were never ones to allow truth and logic to get in the way of an emotional tirade.

   Another revealing story, this time from the AP wire service, would be, "An Arizona sheriff (Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever) says he has been flooded with calls and emails of support from local and federal agents who back his claims that the U.S. Border Patrol has effectively ordered them to stop apprehending illegal immigrants crossing the U.S.-Mexican border."

   I’ll bet you didn’t hear about that from your average nightly newscast.

=================================

   We have managed to obtain what we believe to be an authentic interview with the Vice-Chairman of The Communist Party USA, Scott Marshall.  The interview contains the following quotation from Mr. Marshall: "In every one of the situations I’ve been in in Madison and Indianapolis, there is a radicalization going on among legislators, Democratic legislators, that I’ve never seen in my lifetime, and I don’t think any of us have."  Be Warned.

   And, Patriot Action Network reports "Communist Party, USA labor journalist John Wojcik is predicting huge labor union/immigrant rallies across America on May1 (May Day).  The US left wants to legalize immigrants, because they know that the majority will vote Democrat.

   "In these times of high unemployment, resentment among many unionized and un-unionized workers and the unemployed against illegal immigrants is high.  Therefore the left is deliberately trying to bring all these groups into an alliance behind Barack Obama and the Democrats and against the G.O.P."

   Further authentication comes from Peoples World which is raising the cry, "Hundreds of thousands across the nation marching and rallying this May Day will be fusing two of the great struggles of the day — the fight for workers’ rights and the fight for immigrant rights."

   I may be wrong but I’m hoping that most Americans won’t buy into this ploy for a massive left-wing demonstration and its accompanying dictatorship.

=================================

   I imagine we have all seen the headlines about the more well-to-do among us now being targeted for a massive IRS offensive.  Of course, no matter how much this will raise the return to the U.S. Treasury, it won’t amount to even a small fraction of what is needed — because what is really needed is a major overall cutback in federal government operations. That’s the word on the street.

   As you might realize, some folks are being targeted by the IRS, as they so often are, because their viewpoint is believed to be "politically incorrect."

   As revealed by Bruce Tinsley, the political cartoonist of the famous conservative "Mallard Fillmore," "Before Obama was president, I’d only had the IRS come after me for back taxes once.  Now they’ve done it for three years, and it’s cost me a lot of money to prove them wrong."

   Well, the originator and writer of this web site, your humble host, had a book published in 1999 (when we were under Clinton).  The title: "Good-bye, America?"  It was a book that accurately prophesied the current decline, as the title suggests.

   And, as you might have imagined, this author (who had never been audited before) was audited by the IRS for three years in a row.  (Then they finally gave up.)  We know of a number of others with similar experiences.

   No one can tell me that all of this is just some sort of fantastic, cosmic coincidence.  We don’t buy that and neither does anyone else.

=================================

   The Tea Party crowd has had to have a lot of fortitude and determination, and they do.  The left is doing all it can to hurt them in every way they can.

   Democratic Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez mocks Tea Party Republicans as slow for having the audacity to actually care about the Constitution and calls them bigoted, with a Southern accent.

   Chuck Schumer, one of the leaders of the Democratic Party calls the Tea Party folks "mindless bloodsuckers."  And there are so many others of that same persuasion spewing vitriol in all directions.

   Isn’t it nice seeing how the Democrats are so kind and sensitive and cooperative and friendly.  But the Tea Party movement continues to go forward.  Of course the president has done his best to spin it in his own direction, as best he can.

   But folks are wising up.  As The Wall Street Journal reminds us, "President Obama ferociously resists tax cuts, trade agreements and spending cuts — right up to the moment he strikes a deal with Republicans and hails the tax cuts, trade agreements and spending cuts as his idea."

   But let’s not kid anyone about it.  The cuts are being seen as damn little.  As The Washington Times reports, " ‘We pay anywhere between $3.5 billion to $5 billion per day in interest alone on our debt,’ Dallas Tea Party leader Lorie Medina told The Washington Times.  ‘With our country in such dire economic peril, I’m not interested in window-dressing budget cuts that will get grass-roots America off lawmakers’ backs for another day.’ "

   Frankly, now it’s a matter of getting really serious, or saying good-bye to the America we knew and loved.  That’s the word. That’s the feeling.

=================================

   A group of leading national CEOs in a coalition called "Change The Equation" has warned in a special news report this month, "...that U.S. schools have set a standard for their students that’s too low and that subpar expectations put the country in danger of falling even further behind other nations in reading and math proficiency."

   And further, "Craig R. Barrett, retired CEO of the Intel Corporation and chairman of Change The Equation, said he has heard policymakers sounding the alarm about the nation’s schools since the Soviet Union launched the Sputnik satellite in 1957.  ‘It’s a frustration that in 53 years, not a damn thing has happened,’ he said." (From The Washington Times.)

   So what have our educators been doing?  Among the many activities, some of which we have chronicled on these many pages, there are such things as the Massachusetts’ state-funded sex-ed web site.

   It’s where we are told, "Hey girls, did you know that abortion is much easier than it sounds?  And, like, totally like everyone’s doing it — even underage girls."  And there is that example of the California Teachers Union giving out some very shocking protest instructions.

   They are saying, harass legislators, shut down roads and co-opt fire drills.  (KQED, PAN and other believable groups contributed to this revelation.)  So, what are we to do about all of this nonsense?  How can we get back to education — real quality education?

   Perhaps we should consider some school leaders who came from all over the country to tell a House Committee in Washington that we must reduce the federal government’s role in our schools.  And some states are taking it upon themselves to make changes.

   One example:  Michigan has launched a strong move in the direction of school choice.  Much more needs to be done, but at least this is a beginning.

=================================

   Some of the more conservative voices have attempted to be heard amid the prevailing liberal din.  It hasn’t been easy.  As reported in parts of Ohio and through The Patriot Action Network, "In a lawsuit filed in federal court, the Mansfield North Central Ohio Tea Party Association claims that the Mansfield Board of Education and its superintendent violated the federal civil rights of the Tea Party and its members when they allowed opposition to a proposed speaker dictate a decision to deny the Tea Party the use of the high school auditorium."

   And as Craig Robinson reports, "A University of Iowa professor felt the need to reply to a ‘blast email’ sent by the College Republicans on the previous Monday morning.  Ellen Lewin, a professor of Anthropology and Gender, and Women’s Sexuality Studies, sent a vulgar response to the College Republican email about the group’s Conservative Coming Out Week."

   I can only imagine what her class must be like.

=================================

   It would seem that Eric Holder still remains at the helm of the continuing disintegration of law and order in America.  As reported in The Washington Times, "A leading House Republican says senior Obama administration Justice Department officials overruled U.S. prosecutors and FBI agents who sought to bring new charges against one of the country’s leading Muslim organizations.

   "Rep. Peter T. King, New York Republican and chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, in a letter, asked Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. to answer several questions about the 2008 terrorism-financing prosecution of the Texas-based charity known as the Holy Land Foundation."

   As the detailed article reveals, "The Holy Land Foundation is significant because the prosecution disclosed a U.S. fund-raising network for Hamas, the Palestinian group designated by both the United States and the European Union as a terrorist entity."  ( Since Holder has a history of non-cooperation, no one can really expect any compliance from such a request.)

   And, in other areas, the New Black Panther Party has become quite emboldened by the pass that they received from Holder and his so-called Justice Department.

   Now The Blaze reveals that, "The New Black Panther Party, the racist and radical black power group, has a big day ahead.  According to its website, it’s planning a massive 60 city ‘showdown.’  And the day of rage will include a protest of ‘non-black’ businesses."

   This writer is inclined to feel that most blacks don’t really buy into this sort of destructive behavior.

=================================

   Tony Romm reports, through the Patriot Action Network, that the House has voted to repeal that misnamed Net Neutrality rule.  "An identical effort is pending with action in the Senate, where industry leaders expect the measure will encounter serious roadblocks.  Even if the Senate does move forward, the White House has already said it would veto any attempt to undo FCC rules that require Internet providers to treat all Web traffic equally."

   Such a statement flies in the face of the fact that there is no absolute equality anywhere in the Universe.  If there was, everything would come to a halt, because the differences that make things happen would no longer exist. The same can be said for the Internet.

   Full neutrality can only kill the Web in America, like almost everything else the new regime seems bent on destroying.

   It was also reported that House Republicans repeatedly questioned the agency’s authority to enact that order in the first place.  Rep. Greg Walden, who is the leading Republican on the House communications subcommittee, blasted the FCC, "...for an order he said amounts to an ‘end run around’ a D.C. federal court decision issued in 2010, which found the FCC’s original legal basis for pursuing net neutrality to be unsound."

   What’s going on here?  The Internet has become big and important, as a communication tool and as a successful engine of commerce — therefore, the philosophy on the left is that such a thing as that must be taken over, controlled and perhaps possibly even destroyed, as with so much else the government gets involved with.

   One more nail in our coffin.

=================================

   The battle over the Internet continues.  As reported in The Wall Street Journal, "Governor Pat Quinn recently added to his reputation as America’s most taxing politician by signing a law applying the state’s 6.25% sales tax to Internet purchases made in Illinois.

   "Within hours, Amazon, the online book and merchandise seller, announced it would discontinue using any of its 9,000 Illinois small business affiliates to avoid having to collect the tax. Congratulations, Governor."

   We also understand that a dozen or more other states are pushing similar bills.  After all, what’s government all about?  It’s not for the reduction of the size of government — it’s for adding more taxes to maintain and expand itself.

   In fact, there is a movement to federalize this effort with regard to Internet taxes.  As revealed in The New York Post, "Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) could soon propose sweeping legislation to tax all online purchases."

   Yes, even our "virtual world" is no longer safe from the hungry jowls of the beast that calls itself our government.

=================================

   The American dictatorship continues to grow as it casts its ominous shadow over more and more of what’s left of our liberties and our lives.  Obama’s pay czar is now controlling the salaries of growing numbers of our businesses, through both the unions and now through new federal controls.

   This includes GM, AIG, and so many others.  Such new master control joins the crowd which now forces new and unsafe light bulbs down our throats, low-flow toilets that one must often flush numerous times per use, new appliances that cost more and often work poorly, and all sorts of other failures that we are now mandated to put up with.

   Many leaders and economists in Europe and elsewhere are warning us that we are headed down a slippery and very dangerous slope.  They warn us of the dire consequences of ever greater government control, ever increasing confiscatory taxation and the ominous growth of bloated, centralized power.

   We have been warned.  But how many have heard that warning?  And how many have heard it, but ignored it?  Will it make any difference?  Will you make any difference?

   These are the questions.  What do you think might be the answers?

=================================

   The gradual collapse of our legal system didn’t start with Holder and Obama (although they most certainly have accelerated the process).  A gradual disintegration has been going on for many years.

   Growing complication, skyrocketing legal fees, and political influences have all added their destructive influences as we find ourselves moving further and further away from our founding fathers and the solid foundation of Constitutional law.  The area of current civil law reflects this problem with many sad examples.

   One example would be law firms that drop "politically incorrect" cases.  As recently explained in The Wall Street Journal, "King and Spalding dropped the House of Representatives as a client only days after agreeing to argue for the House in defending the constitutionality of the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act."

   It was further noted that, "The jilting prompted the firm’s lead attorney in the case, former U.S. Solicitor General Paul Clement, to resign from the firm in what we would call a principled protest."

   And recently Taco Bell has placed ads about a law firm that, "...brought false claims about our product quality and advertising integrity..."

   The law firm has now withdrawn their suit and Taco Bell is saying to that law firm (through the ads), "...you know what always helps?  Saying to everyone, ‘I’m sorry.’  C’mon, you can do it."

   Well, don’t hold your breath waiting for their apology.

   And of course one could site literally hundreds of other shameful examples of the way our legal system operates.  Why are things this way?  Because we put up with it.

It's Never, Ever Ending?

   May, 2011.   Another month, another increase in our debt, another decrease in the buying power of our dollar.  In other words, with a national debt above 14 trillion dollars (and growing), it becomes more obvious than ever that there is only one way to reverse the impending disaster.

   As experts all over the world tell us, higher taxes won’t even put a dent in the problem.  More and more it is realized that the only way to reverse a future of financial collapse is to initiate a major reduction in government spending.

   This also means we must have a significant reduction in the overall size of our government, with a corresponding increase in self-governing freedoms for the people.

   And how are things going so far?  Our jobless claims are reported as reaching an 8-month high, FOREX reports the dollar tumbling to a 3-year low, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture tells us that approximately 1 in 7 Americans are now receiving food stamps.

   Also, the Institute for Supply Management reports that the service sector of our economy is showing noticeable weakness in its recovery.  And, as you may have noticed in the financial news, money-market funds show a decline of $410 million and the average 30-year mortgage rate has declined to its lowest level since January (as revealed in a Freddie Mac survey).

   And there is that Wall Street Journal headline: "Commodity Prices Plunge."  And Fannie Mae reports a net loss of $6.5 billion for the first quarter of this year.  And, as the month moves along, the "Dow" posts a notable fall in stocks for 2 weeks in a row, and yes, that includes the Blue Chips.

   Also, most local government entities are being hit hard as the tax revenue seriously falters.  And as Jon Christian Ryter reports, "Government exceeds debt ceiling buying its own debt bonds."  And, as FOREX figures show us, the U.S. debt problems, combined with European debt concerns, seems to be pulling down the "Euro," (the European answer to the dollar).

   And, at the end of the month we see the WSJ headline: "Economists Downgrade Prospects for Growth." And so it goes.

==========================

   Winston Churchill once said, "I contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle."  Have we learned that lesson?  Well, according to the statements and/or actions of Reid, Durbin, Schumer, Pelosi and other Democrats, it would seem they plan to increase the debt, not reduce it.

   And, as reported by WMUR, "Fishermen on New Hampshire’s seacoast are warning that new fishing regulations could destroy their industry."  And, we were surprised to find that the radical-leftist group "La Raza" (The Race) received around $5 million in taxpayer funds last year and intend to do the same again this year, if they can get away with it.

   And we see Barney Frank’s dirty hands in the pie once again.  This time to further politicize the Federal Reserve board even more than it already is.  With his batting average (as with his facilitation of the real estate collapse) we have a lot to look forward to haven’t we?

   And as Fred Barnes, the Weekly Standard editor, says about Obama, "Neither he nor his allies on Capitol Hill have initiated any net reductions in spending since last fall’s election.  Not once." And now the Congress is being asked to bail out the Post Office once again — this time focused on the mail workers’ pensions.

   With all of this and with so much more that we have also been chronicling, the only answer that Obama and his left-leadership has for us is to increase the taxes.  As more and more are coming to realize, we have created a formula for disaster.

==========================

   Might Canada teach us a lesson?  Their nation avoided the real estate crash that hit us and it’s more conservative budget is paying off in terms of genuine economic success. (If you have any doubts about what has been happening, you might want to compare the U.S. dollar against the Canadian dollar.)

   As we see the federal government doing nothing to actually solve the problem, the Treasury Department is doing all it can to avoid financial default.  Attempts at solutions seem to be left to others.

   In many school districts in America, the educational systems are being forced to do all they can to do a better job and to do it with significantly less money.  City governments around the country are being forced to drastically cut back many operations and services and some have even had to seek the protection of bankruptcy.

   Many states are exploring the possible need for new bond issues. And it is being suggested that with certain particular tax breaks, more American companies might be willing to return some of their overseas production operations to the good old U.S.A.

   But all of this is of little good if our national government just continues on as it has been going.  Just about everyone with any understanding at all about such things is telling us that our government entities, on all levels, must step back, reduce in size and notably reduce the spending.  There is no other way that we know of.

   That’s what we hear.  And, if it isn’t done, you know what will happen to us, don’t you?

==========================

   "A Wisconsin circuit court judge (Maryann Sumi) capriciously struck down the law which protects the right to work for most government workers."  This observation by Anne Coulter was among the few polite comments made about the continuing assaults on the states of America by judicial activists who have clearly shown their utter contempt for the U.S. Constitution.

   The rising ire is being heard throughout the land as we see the list of embattled states growing, as started with Arizona.  Some are now suggesting we might do well to consider a Constitutional Amendment that will clearly qualify the original meaning of the Constitution, as first intended and applied, and with clear and swift penalties for all who ignore the Constitutional Rule of Law, including those who sit upon the benches of judicial judgement.

   This writer is a strong advocate of such an amendment.  It is hoped that you will be as well.

==========================

   Tell me what you think the network news, metro newspapers and left-end news magazines would be saying right now if George Bush was president over the past two years and the economy was falling apart as it is now, and the unemployment was as high as it is, and the inflation rate (re: the gas prices, etc.) was high and growing higher, and the deficit was in excess of 14 trillion dollars, as it is, and we seem to be in wars all over the Middle East and our cities, states and educational systems were swimming in debt, as they are, and we are in danger of losing our national triple-A credit rating, as we are, and our dollar might soon be "withdrawn" as the world’s trading currency, and more and more of our lives would be taken over by controlling elements of a new, giant government, as it all has been happening,....what do you think NBC, CBS, ABC, The New York Times and all the rest of them would be saying about George Bush?

   Unfortunately, it’s all too painfully obvious how vociferous the comments would be then.  And the far-left George Soros financial and political connections with all of that media, and so much more — certainly does reinforce the obvious.  As more are observing every day, there is precious little we can trust anymore.

==========================

   The left-leaning media in America doesn’t even try to hide its massive bias any more.  The CNN host, Fareed Zakaria has publically admitted that he advises Obama. MSNBC’s Ed Schultz’s latest rant include calling Fox commentator Laura Ingraham a "slut."  In fact, his ravings were so bad that he reluctantly was forced to publicly apologize.  And the examples go on and on.

   And, of course, the left-media continues to loose its audience.  CBS has replaced Katie Couric with Scott Pelley for the anchor position, evidently in the hope of improving their sagging rating.  In fact all the networks are saying, in one way or another, that they are examining the traditional program format for possible changes.

   It would seem that they still don’t get it.  (Or don’t want to get it.)  The public is getting sick of the narrow view — they want the whole story.  Maybe that’s why audience share has skyrocketed over at Fox.  Could be.

   It should also be noted that the left-media’s hate-filled portrayal of talk-radio doesn’t agree with real life either.  I’ll bet you didn’t know that a number of Clear Channel talk radio stations helped put together a wonderful network of volunteers and donations to help in the tornado ravaged Midwest.  You didn’t see any headlines on that one now did you?

==========================

   Tomas Saving and John Goodman had an article in the WSJ that showed, "Republicans are being portrayed as Medicare Grinches, but ObamaCare already has seniors’ health care slated for draconian cuts."  The Journal further editorially spotlighted one of the major actions needed:  "Republicans need to go on offense against Mediscare."

   Well, they have been trying to do something — not much, but something.  (The media bias may be a big part of the problem.)  The "something" is that the House did manage to pass a bill intended to de-fund a part of the ObamaCare behemoth.

   Unfortunately, it probably can’t pass in the current Senate and Obama would veto anything that might ever get through.  This is going to be a very difficult thing to get under control.

   Real change may not come until after the next presidential election. In the meantime, much damage is continuing to be heaped upon an already dangerously teetering economy by the healthcare monster.

==========================

   In my lifetime (which is a fair length of time) I cannot remember a president who was so terribly secretive as our current president has turned out to be.  And that from a candidate who so enthusiastically promoted the idea of openness in government.

   It may have started with his long running efforts to hide his birth certificate (which he has now finally, reluctantly released) but it goes back through his life in so many shadowy areas.  What about his college days?  What sort of grades did he receive?  What kind of extra-curricular activities did he participate in?

   When he gets his medical check-ups, how is he doing?  And what about his early days in Chicago politics?  And now we are hearing that there is evidence that the Obama’s no longer own their home at 5046 S. Greenwood Ave. in Chicago, if they ever did at all.

   And now WorldNetDaily is telling us, "If former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin had a Social Security number issued to her in Hawaii — a state she never lived in — would that raise suspicions among those in the national news media?

   "Well, the situation is similar with President Barack Obama, who holds a Connecticut-based Social Security number, despite allegedly being born in Hawaii, starting his work career in the Aloha State, and never having lived in Connecticut.

   Yet the national news media is virtually silent on this potentially criminal fact."  Is this true?  As with about everything else, we just keep getting these surprises and don’t know what to make of them.

==========================

   This month the Associated Press noted that Obama, "...will celebrate American poetry and prose with a gathering of poets, musicians and artists at the White House."  As the New Hampshire Journal reported, "One of the poets who will attend is Lonnie Rashid Lynn, Jr., who goes by the name ‘common.’ "

   And that’s where it gets interesting.  "Common" is a rapper known for his filthy tongue and violent themes, including cop killing.  This writer can’t remember when such a seemingly prestigious White House event has ever guested such a filthy low-life example of American life.  Is someone trying to tell us something?

   On other matters, we find that various Republican senators have sent a special letter to the president.  As reported by CNN, "As the U.S. military campaign in Libya approaches the 60-day mark, six Republican senators wrote President Obama asking if he will comply with the War Powers Act, which says Congress must authorize action that lasts more than 60 days.  ‘Friday (May 20) is the final day of the statutory sixty-day period for you to terminate the use of the United States Armed Forces in Libya under the War Powers Resolution.

   "Last week some in your administration indicated use of the United States Armed Forces will continue indefinitely, while others said you would act in a manner consistent with the War Powers Resolution. Therefore, we are writing to ask whether you intend to comply with the requirements of the War Powers Resolution. We await your response,’ wrote the GOP senators."

   I guess we will soon see if he thinks he is above the law on this matter.

==========================

   This was the month that Obama issued a very clear call for Israel to return to its pre-1967 borders.  It was a speech that absolutely stunned the world.  The following day, Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu met with Obama and told him, in no uncertain terms, that in no way was that going to happen.

   The tiny, beleaguered nation of Israel was not going to allow its avowed hostile neighbors to gain such a geographic position of so great a danger to the little nation.  It was not going to happen.  His comments to Obama were polite but completely frank.

   Almost all of the world, outside of those areas with strong Muslim influence, were inclined to agree. Following all of that and following the mounting reactions, Obama hastily decided to do some much needed damage control, as he often finds he must do after he puts his foot in his mouth (about the only way a government official can make both ends meet these days).

   He softened and shifted about as he did what he could to wiggle out from under the rubble.  That’s how most observers saw what happened and that’s evidently how Congress saw it, if their standing ovations at Netanyahu’s speech there is any sort of indicator.

   Even the Democratic mayor of New York, Ed Koch, was so mad that he threatened to switch parties, and Senator Hatch said he would introduce a resolution of opposition to the president’s Israel policy.  And even a little "tongue-in-cheek" posting followed the rounds on the Internet suggesting that America might want to consider returning to its August, 1959 borders, in which Hawaii is no longer a state and then Obama will no longer be a citizen.

   Interesting.

==========================

   One of the serious problems with Obama (one of so many) is what we can only describe as his predisposition for fictitious narrative on just about all subjects.  There are so many examples we have presented here in this on-going chronology.

   Some additional examples might include such little gems as Obama’s strong and definite statement that the implementation of his healthcare program will reduce the deficit by $1 trillion.  However, the Congressional Budget Office has reported that statement as absolutely "incorrect."

   Obama has also told us that the tax burden on the more wealthy among us is the lowest it has been in the last 50 years.  As you probably know, numerous breakdowns of the facts and figures involved show us that the statement is completely false.

   Obama also has told us that the big oil companies are to blame for the high fuel prices.  Yet the truth is that actually everything from the Middle East insecurities and our government’s own taxes at the pump, to other questionable activities can share the blame, with Obama’s own restrictive regulator burden taking center stage for responsibility.

   And what about Obama’s statement that our government not spending greater amounts of money is "mortgaging America’s future?"  All of the experts tell us this is completely false.  There is no way we can just spend our way out of our bankrupt condition.

   As it has been said, a nation is in dire straits when its citizens cannot trust their own president to tell the truth.

==========================

   Obama continues to irk the Internet and encourage such responses as the Patriot Action Network posting: "With a president like Obama, who thinks his executive power does not come with checks and balances, you never know what you’re going to get.  I have never seen the word ‘Czar’ in the Constitution.

   "Apparently Barack has seen it there many times because he just appointed his 33rd Czar, Jesse Lee, to help fight the stories that paint Obama in a negative light."  It was further noted that, "Jesse Lee was an official blogger for Nancy Pelosi."  (You know, "We have to pass the bill so you can see what’s in it," Pelosi.)

   On other matters we see Obama and his entourage being treated with dignity and respect on their visit to England — completely unlike the way our president treated the British, from the return of the Churchill bust to lukewarm receptions for state visits from the U.K.  The British certainly do show considerable class, don’t they?

   However, some just don’t want to have anything to do with him, as exampled by the Daily Mail Reporter story about how, "Poland’s former president and Solidarity founder Lech Walesa has snubbed an invitation to meet with President Barack Obama."

   Oh, and one final little tidbit.  As reported by The Washington Times, "On top of the more than half a million dollars it spends on speech writers, the White House is using tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars on a public relations firm headed by Democratic image maker Michael Sheehan."  We thought you’d like to know where some of your tax money has been going.

==========================

   Thomas Jefferson warned, "The two enemies of the people are criminals and government; so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first."  So now let us look at some more of our growing level of corruption.

   As reported by Fox News, "Rep. Darrell Issa went after Attorney General Eric Holder for refusing to answer questions and subpoenas for documents that implicate who approved the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives project that allowed guns purchased illegally in the U.S. to be smuggled into Mexico on behalf of the drug cartels with the knowledge and consent of the ATF."  Lots of luck.  He acts as a law unto himself.

   And as Michelle Malkin reports, "While White House ethics watchdogs dither, it’s shady business as usual for ethics scandal-plagued Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters."  Of course.  And, as senior political analyst Michael Borone tells us, "Obama skirts the rule of law to reward pals, punish foes," with his ObamaCare waivers.

   And as revealed by The Wall Street Journal, "Democrats have been searching for a way to claw back control over political speech.  The latest bureau to get the memo is the Internal Revenue Service, which may retroactively tax top donors to political advocacy groups."

   One WSJ article by Kris W. Kobach, the Kansas Secretary of State, offers one of the few attempts to curb some of the rising tide of corruption.  The thought is that, "You can’t cash a check, board a plane, or even buy full-strength Sudafed over the counter without an ID.  Why should voting be different?"

   A very good question.  Now we need some answers and some action, wouldn’t you say?

==========================

   The Middle East continues to boil over in every direction. Yemen continues to fall apart.  Saudi Arabia is becoming so worried about Iran that they are evidently planning on curbs of their own.  (They feel they can no longer depend on Washington for much of anything.)

   This administration’s policies have also had a chilling effect on Hillary Clinton’s latest visit to Pakistan.  And, although most of America’s media has downplayed the situation, serious protest battles have been occurring against the Jews at the Israeli borders.

   And America’s liberals are watching with great interest as Iran moves to unplug the Internet in their Arab dictatorship.

   And the problems in Egypt continue to grow.  Muslims begin attacking Christians in Egypt as a Coptic Church is set on fire. And a Congressional commission has now found it necessary to blacklist Egypt for religious oppression.  And the Muslim Brotherhood rises up to take political action.  The future of Egypt is very uncertain.

   And in Syria, torture and oppression are becoming a way of life.  Anyone is liable to be arrested — educated professionals and activists alike.  People who want freedom are being driven underground.  And what is the current administration doing? — precious little.

   An administration that is giving the impression that it is not quite sure what to do or when (most of the time), is encouraging the growing unrest everywhere.  That’s the predominant observation.

==========================

   We are all so very much aware of the announcement made in the early part of this month, of an American Navy Seal team that managed to put Osama Bin Laden’s lights out once and for all.  We are all also aware of Obama’s posturing about the deed.

   But many may not realize that the search for Bin Laden was initiated under the Bush administration, with intelligence methods that Obama and his "group" never approved of.  As former U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey put it, "Consider how the intelligence that led to Bin Laden came to hand.  It began with a disclosure from Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who broke like a dam under the pressure of harsh interrogation techniques that included waterboarding."(WSJ)

   It is also interesting to note that some on the left didn’t seem all that happy about it, nor about Israel’s desire to continue maintaining the buffer area that protects its border, as exampled by a Pink-Islamist Alliance interruption of a Netanyahu speech in Washington later on in the month.  We just thought you might like to know about such things.

==========================

   The American educational system continues to be an ever-growing disappointment to parents and to citizens in general. A Labor Union Report posted on RedState.com puts it in plain English.  "For the last few years, America has slowly awakened to the level of Marxism taught in American classrooms.

   "From taking public school students to Cuba and the NEA’s recommendation of Soul Alinsky to the most recent revelations of the University of Missouri’s ‘Introduction to Labor Studies’ taught by two Marxists who, in addition to allegedly giving a Communist organizer two hours of class time to recruit, also shared the finer points of industrial sabotage."

   And then there is, "Capitalists are bloodsuckers," which is a revealing posting on the Internet by Firewire, which explains, "That is the lesson taught in some Arizona schools.

   At a Tucson School Board meeting, a concerned parent read from the text book that’s being used to teach children as young as eight years old. The words were so offensive that the school board asked her to censor herself as she read it aloud."

   And, in news from the Thomas Moore Law Center, it was found to be necessary for the Center to, "...defend the right of public high school teacher Brad Johnson to display patriotic banners in his classroom."

   And so it goes on, endlessly.  And the questions that we all need to ask are, where do those revolutionary educators come from?  How did they get into the schools in the first place?  And who chooses the text books and who checks them out?  In other words, just who is running your schools?

==========================

   Some folks are fighting back to try and save our schools from the inadequacies and deprevities that have been damaging our children.  SafeLibraries reporting system offers this example: "Public school officials have removed a book containing inappropriate material from the Quail Run Elementary School in Phoenix, AZ, at least until the next school year.

   "The book, 'Lovingly Alice,' from the Alice series by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor, includes material such as a ‘penis squirting sperm inside the vagina.’  An 8-year-old girl complained about the book to her mother who then brought the book to the school’s attention."

   Another interesting example comes to us from Townhall.com where we learn that, "In the Grayslake, Illinois School District 46, three tea party members decided to take action by running for three available seats on the school board this spring.  Their opponents were two incumbents with strong teachers’ union ties.

   "One of the incumbents, Mary Garcia, also serves as the teachers’ union president in neighboring District 30.  The other, Susan Fecklam, reportedly ran a coordinated campaign with Garcia."

   And, as further revealed, "The incumbents allegedly broke the law, or violated school policies, by using school email accounts to promote their campaigns, and by bribing 18-year-old students to register to vote, on the presumption the kids would vote for them."

   Pressure from good and active citizens turned this bad situation around.  That’s as it should be, but it requires good citizens to actually get strongly involved.  Why?  Because the few that are, seem to be finding these terrible surprises everywhere.

   Just imagine the countless thousands of very bad situations that haven’t been exposed and acted upon. (One need never wonder why so many of our American schools are failing.)

==========================

   The evidence is in and Jason L. Riley, a member of the WSJ editorial board informs readers that, "A study published last year found that D.C. voucher recipients had graduation rates of 91%.  That’s significantly higher than the public school average of 56%."  Interesting, yes?

   And the Journal also tells us, in a headline, that "Illinois Education Bill Passes Over Union Objections."  As noted, "The overhaul bill would link teacher tenure to student achievement and base layoffs on performance instead of seniority." (It’s about time.)

   And The Washington Times tells us that, "A growing number of states are not waiting for the federal government’s lead in overhauling education.  This year alone, 36 states have either passed or are considering comprehensive legislation on school vouchers, tax credits and other reform measures."

   It would seem at least some in America are no longer willing to ignore the "F" grade for our educational systems.  Keep it up, America. Keep it up.  (And that means you, too.)

==========================

   As The Washington Times reports, "South Carolina Republican Sen. Jim DeMint, on May 19, criticized a National Labor Relations Board move to block a major new Boeing manufacturing facility in his state and said Democrats need to distance themselves from labor unions who are hurting the workers they are supposed to protect."

   As Tim Devaney reported, "Democrats siding with the labor agency are ‘very afraid of doing anything that antagonizes unions, even if behind the scenes they agree with us,’ the South Carolina Republican said."  And as DeMint further noted, "These guys are afraid, literally intimidated by the unions."

   This is an important revelation that should not be forgotten.  And, as The Wall Street Journal reports, "Lawmakers and governors in 21 states are seeking to curb union clout in government funded construction projects by limiting the use of wage requirements that generally favor union workers."

   And other efforts include the Fox News story: "President Barack Obama’s self-avowed commitment to transparency clearly doesn’t apply to big labor.  With free legal aid from the National Right to Work Foundation attorneys, Chris Mosquera, a United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) union member, filed a federal lawsuit against Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis for gutting union boss financial disclosure requirements."

   And in Detroit, as reported in the WSJ, "A new state law has emboldened the Detroit mayor and schools chief to take a more aggressive stance toward public unions as city leaders try to mop up hundreds of millions of dollars in red ink."  The heroic effort is moving forward, but as it is being said, it is up to us to keep it moving.

==========================

   This month’s May Day parade in Los Angeles was an eye opener.  We have pictures of some of the typical signs and placards that were on display.

   Among them were: "From Wisconsin to Libya — Workers of the World Unite! Fight for Communism!,"  "Smash Capitalism,"  "Communist Party, USA — Southern California District,"  "SEIU — United Service Workers West,"  "Mobilize the masses for Communism!"  "The real violence is practiced by the Govt. offering hunger, exclusion, poverty — Imposing crime, chaos & self-destruction,"  "Peace, Equality, Democracy & Socialism — Young Communist League," and on and on it went.

   Remember, this is real.  It’s not some sort of right-wing creation to frighten the people. This is actually what has been happening.

   And, with regard to other threats to our national security, the Atlas Shrugs web site reminds us about, "...the thirteenth plot against New York City since 911.  Once again the motive, Islamic Jew-hatred, is ignored.  From Israel to New York Yemen to London, Paris to Chechnya ... fourteen hundred years of Jewish genocide mandated by Islamic religious teachings."

   Little more is known about the latest plot, other than "New York police arrested two men who allegedly plotted a terrorist attack on an unidentified, major synagogue in Manhattan, authorities said."  We understand that they shouted such things as , "I hate Jews! I want to kill them!"

   And now we also have an Iranian group, once allied with the late Saddam Hussein, enlisting the support of top U.S. officials to try and get themselves removed from the State Department terrorist list.

   And, as if that isn’t enough, we also now have the Supreme Court now saying that California has two years to make major cuts in its prison population.  (Never mind that one of the court’s major function is to support the protection of the people.)  So it goes with the security of today’s America.

==========================

   Now, in a run for the border, we are reminded of Obama’s speech in El Paso.  He tells us about improvements in security and, upon close examination, we realize it’s just window dressing.

   His idea of security seems to be more an exercise in re-directed semantics (to put it politely).

   And then there’s that situation where "Napolitano told the Senate Judiciary Committee, that has oversight over the Department of Homeland Security, that her agency halted the deportation of only 900 illegal immigrants in fiscal year 2010.

   "She did admit that the figure could be higher because it excludes ‘deferred action’ granted to illegal immigrants for ‘humanitarian’ reasons."  This is as it was accurately reported by The Patriot Action Network, which continues:

   "Not surprisingly, Madame Secretary never indicated how much higher the figure could be, which may lead many to conclude that she purposely deceived federal lawmakers.  It turns out that the Obama administration halted the deportation of 34,448 illegal immigrants last year, according to Homeland Security figures obtained independently by Senator Charles Grassley of Iowa, who sits on the Judiciary Committee."

   There have been so many examples of this sort of thing.  Can’t this administration manage to tell the truth once in a while?

==========================

   "A State Department cable made public, highlights China’s efforts to co-opt the government of the remote South Pacific island of Fiji using what the cable called ‘checkbook diplomacy.’ "(Washington Times)

   And we discover, "China’s top military leader and a group of officers visited sensitive U.S. military bases last week in exchanges that defense and congressional officials say run counter to a 2000 law designed to limit such exchanges from bolstering Beijing’s arms buildup."

   Meanwhile, China is doing what it can to settle the unrest rising up in Inner Mongolia.  Officials are calling it a problem of "ethnic strife."  And let us not forget the detailed report by Shaun Waterman in The Washington Times in which it is revealed that "Beijing is aiding North Korea and Iran nuke efforts."

   As detailed: "Critics charge that the Chinese have been playing a double game, winking at violations of the sanctions even as they signed up for them.  ‘It’s been so blatant that even the United Nations, which is typically very cautious in it assessments, has now come out and said it,’ said one senior House staffer who has long followed the issue."

   And, it has been crystal clear in many bulletins, reports and essays that our current U.S. policies and general government instabilities and financial instabilities are actually encouraging and even helping the rise of China to a position of power greater than that of America.

   It is a terrible inevitability unless we bring about a major reversal in the mentality of our leadership.

==========================

   We were promised "change," right?  So, welcome to change.  "A New Jersey judge used Shariah law to protect a Muslim man from prosecution for repeatedly beating his wife — because he was exercising his ‘religious rights’ under Shariah law."

   And, "In Fairfax, Virginia, a large Saudi-funded Islamic K-12 school was just granted special permission by the county to expand ... even though violent jihad was promoted for years in its text books, and one of its valedictorians was convicted of plotting to kill President Bush."

   And, "The Council on American Relations (CAIR) describes itself as ‘America’s largest Islamic civil liberties group.’  A former chairman of CAIR said: ‘Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant.  The Koran, the Muslim book fo scripture, should be the highest authority in America.’ "

   And now, "Obama has tabbed the former dean of Yale Law School, Harold Koh, to become the legal adviser for the State Department.  In a 2007 speech, Koh opened that ‘in an appropriate case, he didn’t see any reason why Shariah law would not be applied to govern a case in the United States.’ "

   And, "Six Imams get on a U.S. Airways flight yelling ‘Allah.’ Then they switched seats to a pattern associated with the 911 attacks — two in front, two in the middle, two in the rear.

   "They asked for seat belt extenders, which they did not use.  One made repeated trips to talk to one in the rear.  Why would these Imams behave this way?  So they could file a law suit in Federal Court, seeking millions of dollars in damages against passengers on the flight who would report their suspicious activities?"

   What do you think?  (All those quotes courtesy of Traditional Values Coalition and Christian Crusade Newspaper, by way of The V.I.P. Women’s group.)

==========================

   A few little items you may have missed this month: As noted by The Wall Street Journal, "The regulatory tax on Americans is now larger than the income tax."

   And the Defense Department Robert Gates’ farewell remark, "America can be a superpower or a welfare state, but not both."

   And before a Washington hearing on Elizabeth Warren and her new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, George Mason University law professor Todd Zywicki explained that, "The consumer bureau’s structure may be unprecedented in American history.

   "It has a single director, accountable only to the President.  Its annual budget isn’t subject to Congressional appropriations.  Its regulations may be overturned by the new Financial Stability Oversight Council — a point Mrs. Warren likes to repeat — but only with the very high bar of a two-thirds vote." (WSJ)

==========================

   And, with all of that and all the rest that’s been happening, "Obama’s re-election campaign may lack the novelty of his first campaign.  Aides hope though, that any enthusiasm gap — which they believe will close as the race begins to take shape — will be made up for by the sheer scale and capacity of the newly re-tuned organization."  This, as reported by The Patriot Action Network.

   And the word is out about that massive operation, which is expected to recruit all of the taxpayer supported ACORN spin-offs and the SEIU and every other goon-squad that can be mustered.  This should give "hard ball" a new meaning.

==========================

   As Mackubin Thomas Owens tells us, in The Washington Times, "Mr. Obama has dispensed a cloud of obfuscation — one that scapegoats others for high energy prices, when his own policies are at fault."

   And if you have any doubts about that, "Three months before he was confirmed as Secretary of Energy, Steven Chu confirmed in an interview that ‘somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.’ "  (And then maybe we can blame the oil companies?)

   Mr. Owens comments further: "Make no mistake, high taxes already constitute a far greater component of the price of gasoline at the pump than oil company profits."

   And, as the Associated Press informs us, "Their demonstrations at the LightFair trade show in Philadelphia this week (in May) means that brighter LED bulbs will likely go on sale next year, but after a government ban takes effect (on ‘incandescent’ bulbs).  The new bulbs will also be expensive — about $50 each — so the development may not prevent consumers from hoarding traditional bulbs."

   Of course many will change over to the somewhat less expensive compact fluorescents, with their toxic mercury component.  Aren’t you glad our government is setting up such nice choices for you?  Makes you feel all nice and warm inside, doesn’t it?

==========================

   Good grief!  China is now almost as powerful as the Internet. The far-eastern empire got into a feud with Yahoo and Yahoo’s stock fell.  And additionally, as the WSJ reports, "An official from China’s new Internet regulator defends the nation’s Internet controls against critics, saying they are in line with efforts elsewhere to protect privacy and block obscenity, gambling and other activities."

   Protect privacy? That’s a good one.  And what do you think those "other activities" might be?  No surprises there either, right?

==========================

   The court system in America has been a problem for a long, long time and it’s getting worse with every passing minute. And it’s not just the Constitution that has become the victim in this orgy of decay.

   Examples?  Too many to cover, but I’ll try to cover a few, first with the help of The Washington Times. (America’s weekly newspaper.)  "It was an open secret that District Court Judge Vaughn Walker was homosexual, although he had never publically acknowledged it.

   "Under the circumstances, challenging his objectivity in a case on the constitutionality of ‘one man, one woman’ marriage carried substantial risks, such as angering the judge."

   But then, as it was revealed, "The circumstances changed when Judge Walker, now retired, was quoted in an April 6 article by Reuters saying that he had been involved in a same-sex relationship for more than 10 years.

   "Now traditional-marriage proponents are openly disputing the judge’s impartiality, culminating in an April 25 motion to throw out his decision overthrowing Proposition 8 (in California)."

   We are now more openly hearing such statements as, " ‘I’ve never seen anything like it in terms of the bias Judge Walker showed from Day one,’ said National Organization for Marriage President Brian Brown.  ‘We’ve seen the most egregious, biased acts, which basically turned this into a kangaroo court, up until the end of the trial and then afterward.’ "

   Another problem example might be, as reported by the Associated Press: "A New Mexico judge charge with bribery in a scandal tied to former Gov. Bill Richardson pleaded not guilty."  As further revealed, "State District Judge Michael Murphy is accused of telling a potential judicial candidate that if she wanted a seat on the bench she needed to donate to the Democratic Party through a political activist linked to R. Richardson."

   It should be noted that this writer has been told a number of times that this sort of thing is rather common.  Well, maybe so, but if it happens it is still wrong, wrong, wrong.  (As is most of our legal system these days.)

==========================

   They are catching up with a few of the more questionable members of the bench, but they’ve got so far yet to go.

   Some repair jobs might include, as reported in The Wall Street Journal, "The Social Security Administration placed on leave an administrative law judge who has approved an unusually high number of applications for disability benefits, one week after a page one articles in The Wall Street Journal detailed his decisions."

   As further revealed, "David B. Daugherty, based in Huntington, W. Virginia, awarded benefits in each of the 729 disability cases he decided in the first six months of fiscal 2011, according to government data."

   And in another incident, "Senate Republicans blocked law professor Goodwin Liu’s appointment to a federal appeals court."  As noted, "Mitch McConnell (R. Ky.) called R. Liu ‘a left-wing ideologue who views the role of a judge not as that of an impartial arbiter, but as someone who views the bench as a position of power.’ "

   Unfortunately, an inordinately large number of sitting judges share this view, as it has been observed many, many times.

   Another legal issue of concern, as reported by The Patriot Action Network, would be the revelation that, "In an effort to satisfy those arguing he needs to seek congressional authorization to continue US military activity in accordance with the War Powers Resolution, President Obama wrote a letter to congressional leadership suggesting that the role is now so ‘limited’ he does not need to seek congressional approval."

   Evidently a little bit of war is not a war.  So once again the rule of law is circumvented.

==========================

   And finally, in Europe, Greece is not the only nation that is in very serious financial trouble.  Spain is another good example.  As headlined in the WSJ, "Vote Jars Spain’s Ruling Socialists — Party Suffers Losses in Local Elections Amid Widespread Protests Over Continued Economic Crisis," and in Portugal, "A Nation of Dropouts Shakes Europe."  And the problems continue to spread.

   Why should we care?  In addition to a reasonable empathetic response, there is that uncomfortable fact that a significant collapse in Europe could be expected to have a "domino" effect all over the world, including here in America where we are already experiencing significant instabilities of our own.  Think about it.

The Coming Long, Hot Summer

   June, 2011. This is the month when we hear that our recession has wiped one town completely off the map. As of now, the sign at the entrance of the former Empire, Nevada now reads, "Welcome To Nowhere." Originated in 1923, the little town that doesn’t even have a ZIP code anymore.

   You’ve sure done a lot for your state haven’t you, Harry Reid?

   And the WSJ headlines for this month are no better, as sampled with: "Economic Outlook Darkens, Fed Keeps Course As Growth Pace Slows, Job Market Loses Momentum, Dollar Loses Out to Euro, Stocks Swoon, Worry Rises, Sluggish Hiring Seen As Threat To Recovery, Consumer Prices Rise 0.2%, Stocks Fall," and "Debt Hamstrings Recovery."  Of course the market shows a brief up-tick now and then, but with an official unemployment rate of 9.1% and an actual rate in the teens, it ends up being more like up one step and down two.  Not a pretty picture.  It all most certainly suggests someone in our government is not doing what should be done — a lot of "someones," actually.

==========================

   The more sophisticated financial journals are suggesting that Washington’s current ways of doing things has done little to nothing to help the housing slump in America.  In fact, things only get worse.  The price of buying a home has now sunk to the 2002 levels.  And, in some cities and towns in our nation, we find it to be much worse than that.  And we now read a new report from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency that tells us that many of our banks hold an even higher number of defaulted mortgages than even the infamous and terribly unstable Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

   Not surprising since we also find that many of our banks seem to be having ever growing difficulties functioning without countless delays and errors.  A stunning example would be as shown and reported on You-Tube, as documented by Jon Christian Ryter.

   "In 2009 retired Bay Village, Ohio police sergeant Warren Nyergers and his wife Maureen bought a retirement home in Naples, Florida.  Using the proceeds they received from selling their home in Ohio, they paid cash for their Florida dream home.  They didn’t realize that within two years their dream retirement was going to become the nightmare on Elm Street.  Bank of America foreclosed on their home because, the bank claimed in their court filing, the Nyergers were not making their mortgage payments.  When Bank of America in North Carolina filed to seize their property, the Nyergers counter-sued to stop the foreclosure because they paid cash for the house and never had a mortgage with Bank of America — or anyone else."  The You-Tube disclosure continued:  "It is unclear why Bank of America refused to accept the evidence submitted by the Nyergers that proved they paid cash for their home."

   The Nyergers sued the Bank of America and won appropriate damages.  However, after five months, Bank of America refuses to pay the judgement.  The report continued:  "The Nyergers’ attorney, Naples lawyer Todd Allen went back to court and filed to foreclose on Bank of America, seizing their assets.  He won his seizure.

   "On June 3 two burley Collier County Sheriff’s Deputies and a large moving van pulled up to the Naples, Florida branch of Bank of America.  The deputies locked the bank’s employees out of the building and instructed the bank manager to write a check or be prepared to see his office cleaned out.

   "After about an hour, a very nervous and visibly stressed manager handed the sheriff’s deputies the $2,534.00 check.  He was the first mortgage bank manager foreclosed on by a homeowner."

   Now this is what I call an interesting development.

==========================

   So now let’s see what is being done about our financial debacle.  As noted in The Wall Street Journal, Obama seems to be "Spending his way to austerity."  Doesn’t make sense?  Well of course not. And what do the facts and figures show us?  Among the many glaring examples we find a 73% increase in government limousines under the current administration.  (As reported by Fox News.)

   And a CNN investigation has revealed that Congressional staffers received $6.1 in taxpayer funded bonuses, while a Congressional Research Service report shows us that as many as 77,000 federal employees are actually being paid more than state governors.

   And, as reported in The Washington Times, "Records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act show that from April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011, the Justice Department declined to file criminal charges in (at least) two dozen cases in which retirement benefits were paid out to dead beneficiaries, then spent by someone else."

   And Senator Tom Coburn announced that documents have come into his possession that establishes proof of as much as $3 million in waste and serious mismanagement by the National Science Foundation.

   It was also exposed, in the book "Reckless Endangerment," that we are having an epidemic of ethical proportions, as exampled by Fannie Mae who, it is reported, paid various lobbyists to sit on the sidelines at critical moments.  And with all of this, and so much more, going on in the background, we have the debt reduction talks that turned out to be anything but serious, to the point where almost all of the participating Republicans withdrew in disgust.

   And then, as reported by the Reuters news service, "Obama blames Europe, Japan for U.S. economic woes."  As Charlie Brown would say, "Good grief!"

==========================

   Jon Christian Ryter reminds us that there are tax burdens striking us all, such as with the "Obama death board" and its accompanying tax obligations.  And now he tells us about another tax, "...which will hit the low to low-middle class hardest."  It will go into effect in 2013 and will take the form of a tax on those who sell their homes (above and beyond all the rest that is already paid as fees, income taxes, etc.).

   And then there is the phasing-out of various itemized deductions and other "stealth taxes."  And let us not forget the new paperwork burdens the I.R.S. is now putting on nonprofit charity organizations.  It has been such a confusion of additional work that many have not managed to comply.

   So, as reported in the WSJ, "The Internal Revenue Service announced this month that 275,000 non-profit groups — around 18% of the country’s tax-exempt organizations — have lost their exemptions."

   And now leadership elements in the Democratic Party are doing whatever they can to get the highest federal income tax rate to 70% and beyond.  This, in spite of the fact that such high rates have a proven history of bringing in less revenue.  When those who have, are allowed to keep and invest more, not less, growth and expansion are the inevitable results.

   As it has been so often pointed out, when was the last time someone was employed by a poor man? Such are the reasonable thoughts we are hearing on the street.

==========================

   As reported by Lawrence B. Lindsey, a former Federal Reserve Governor, "Normal interest rates would raise debt-service costs by $4.9 trillion over 10 years, dwarfing the savings from any currently contemplated budget deal."  And now Fitch joins Moody’s in serious threats to downgrade the U.S. debt interest rating.

   For the few of you out there of the Democratic party persuasion who still can’t seem to get the message, let us put it this way: "In the three seconds it takes to read this sentence, the federal government will have borrowed $174,000.  Every passing second results in another $58,000."  (As reported to us by Grassfire Nation.)

   And, as reported over the Reuters news wires, "The Federal Reserve has cut its forecast for U.S. economic growth but offers no hint of further monetary support." And CNS News reports that "China has dropped 97 percent of its holding in U.S. Treasury bills, decreasing its ownership of the short-term U.S. government securities from a peak of $210.4 billion in May 2009 to $5.69 billion in March 2011, the most recent month reported by the U.S. Treasury."

   And, from a surprising source, "When adding in all of the money owed to cover future liabilities in entitlement programs, the US is actually in worse financial shape than Greece and other debt-laden European countries, Pimco’s Bill Gross told CNBC."

   It all suggests one very uncomfortable end. If we are unable to actually reduce the size and cost of our national government, it’s all over for us.  Think about it.

==========================

   Our states are having a terrible time as well, as they thrash about, looking for a way out.  One possible solution they think they’ve found is to develop any way possible to tax the sales being made on the Internet. And while that dance is going on, an initiative in California that was passed by the state’s voters is now making it possible for the state’s legislators to lose their salaries, after the deadline, until they finally manage to pass a state budget.

   Well, the deadline for a budget came and went, without a budget, so the California Controller is moving forward to withhold the legislators’ pay.  And what is just about everyone saying about such a move?  "It’s about time!"

   Many states are also finding themselves having to cut public workers’ salaries and all sorts of other benefits and perks.  Many new governors (mostly Republicans) are leading the way.  And, it would seem that possibly some states are coming to realize that it may be necessary to actually reduce the size of state governments as well.  Will wonders never cease?

   Meanwhile, changes seem to be taking place at the federal level.  Obama’s economic team is making an unceremonious exit.  And employers added a pitiful number of jobs in May — the lowest number in the last eight months.  "This jobs report, which would be weak in any economy, comes at a particularly devastating time, when the labor market remains 6.9 million payroll jobs below where it was at the official start of the recession three years and five months ago," Heidi Shierholz of the Economic Policy Institute said in her report on the data in May.  (As quoted from The Washington Times.)  Enough said.

==========================

   So, what might be the way out of this economic quagmire (as it keeps burying us deeper and deeper with each passing day)?  We know of no way out short of reduced entitlements and other mandates and making really serious reductions in the size of government on all levels.

   This will mean learning to be less dependent on government.  This will mean developing volunteer replacements for many services.  This will mean the development of self-sufficiency on a level generally not practiced for a long, long time.

   If these things are not done, it will be absolutely necessary for us to get out of the dollar (into property, precious metals, foreign currency, etc. — if done very selectively) and growing one’s own vegetable garden, if one can, developing family and/or community support groups, and doing everything else one can to strengthen one’s chances of survival in a dark and dangerous future that may be our lot.

   That is what this writer has to say about all of this. What do you have to say about it?  And, more importantly, what are you doing or are planning to do about your place in this critical time in our history? What say you?

==========================

   The Patriot Action Network reports that, "Once provisions of the Affordable Care Act start to kick in during 2014, at least three of every 10 employers will probably stop offering health coverage, a survey released this month shows.  While only 7% of employees will be forced to switch to subsidized-exchange programs, at least 30% of companies say they will ‘definitely or probably’ stop offering employer-sponsored coverage, according to the study published in McKinsey Quarterly."

   And the Wall Street Journal reports that "The Obama administration is handing out waivers far and wide for its healthcare bill, but behind the scenes the bureaucracy is grinding ahead writing new regulations. The latest example is the rule for Accountable Care Organizations that are supposed to be the crown jewel of cost-saving reform.

   "One problem: The draft rule is so awful that even the models for it say they won’t participate."  Also reported (by Karl Rove), "Mr. Obama has ignored a law requiring he send Congress a plan to strengthen Medicare’s finances — even though members of his own cabinet have reminded him in writing of his duty to do so."

   With so much evidence in at this point, from Holder to Obama (and with just about everyone else in between), we have a government that is breaking the law in many areas of major importance.  And there seems to be so little anyone can do.

   But that’s not entirely true.  This year our Supreme Court actually managed to function Constitutionally.  In a recent ruling this year it was decided that individual citizens can challenge federal statutes when they encroach on areas of authority that our Constitution has clearly reserved to the states.  Something to think about.

==========================

   A more detailed, closer examination of the state of American healthcare shows us that more and more individuals, companies, organizations, and states are doing everything they can to back away from what is becoming a disastrous failure.  Even the very liberal state of Washington is trying to back off as they start with the Medicare mess and try to work out a unanimously backed block-grant system that seems a lot like a genuine welfare reform.

   Others are beginning to suggest that with only a 3% payroll deduction, a fully retired worker who had earned $50,000 a year when he was employed — such a retired worker should actually be able to double the Social Security benefit that is in place today.  And, if the funds are not put in the general fund, and the retiree is allowed to have it function as his own private account, the system just might actually have a chance.

   But it is really hard to do much of anything when so much misinformation abounds.  A good example of this would be the flyer that Medicare recently sent to retired seniors all over the nation.  It made grand claims for Medicare. "...greater savings and increased quality of health care" and "...improvements to Medicare Advantage."

   However, as the WSJ pointed out, "In an April memo, Richard Foster estimated that the $206 billion hole in Advantage will reduce benefits, cause insurers to withdraw from the program and reduce overall enrollment by half.  Doug Elmendorf and his team at the Congressional Budget Office came to the same conclusion, as did every other honest expert."

   Our government can only resort to bold face lies?  It would seem so.

==========================

   The Obama enigma continues.  The White House visitor’s log can be most easily seen as a creative work of fiction.  " ‘Logs routinely omit or cloud key details about the identity of visitors, who they meet with, the nature of the visit, and even includes the names of people who never showed up,’ say Fred Schulte and Viveca Novak, who poured through the details.  See the findings at JWatchNews.org."  (As revealed in The Washington Times.)

   And now we’re seeing stories about two former Obama aides putting together a couple of fund raising organizations that will not be requiring any disclosures of donors.  We understand that they are very happy to accept donations from lobbyists, unions, political action committees and anyone else that’s interested. Obama said he didn’t accept those kinds of donations for his presidential campaign and, of course, criticized Republicans that he felt did so in the latest Congressional campaign.  But he’ll evidently do it undercover through third party organizations.

   And what else is Obama doing?  Well, let’s see.  As the Wall Street Journal so diplomatically pointed out, "Poor neighborhoods in America’s inner cities already endure an excess of drug-related crime and violence. The Obama administration’s push to retroactively apply a new law that reduces sentences for crack cocaine convictions is unlikely to help."  Gee, how would anybody get that idea?

   And how might Obama and his people be continuing to deal with Islamic fundamentalist/radical problems? World Net Daily announced that, "A Palestinian Authority investigation last week accused one of its own top leaders of funneling money to al-Qaida-linked groups in the Gaza Strip.  WND first reported in 2008, quoting informed Mideast security officials, that Mahmoud Dahlan, had been providing financial support to al-Qaida allies in the Gaza Strip, including some of the most radical Islamist organizations in the territory. Dahlan, a leader in PA President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah party, coordinates security closely with the U.S. His security agencies have been the direct recipient of over $300 million in U.S. financial aid and scores of U.S. weapons transfers for over a decade."

   And now Reuters reports that "The United States will resume limited contacts with Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton confirmed, saying it was in Washington’s interest to deal with parties committed to non-violent politics."  Non-violent?  You’ve got to be kidding!

==========================

   With such a strong Muslim predisposition being shown by our current president, it has been suggested that we might offer more than just the usual chronological review on these pages — we might think of showing at least a little more of the critical relationships and/or supports in a short presentation. All right, here it is:

   In 1952, President Truman established an annual National Day of Prayer which was later permanently fixed as the first Thursday in May by President Reagan. In June of 2007, the then presidential Candidate Barack Obama declared publically that America is no longer a Christian nation.

   In more recent times, Obama canceled what would have been the 21st annual National Day of Prayer ceremony at the White House in Washington, saying he did not want to offend anyone. On September 25, 2009, a National Day of Prayer was held for the Muslim religion, for over 50,000 Muslims who gathered in Washington, DC on that day for the event.  And on and on it goes.  The examples are endless.

==========================

   Thanks to Obama and his crew, it would seem the unions are taking over more and more of our lives and whatever might be left of our future.  Kellie Lunney (who is classified as a government executive) writes that, "The cost of official time used by federal employees participating in union activities increased nearly 7 percent between fiscal 2008 and fiscal 2009, according to a new report from the Office of Personnel Management."  It turns out to be almost 3 million hours, which has cost taxpayers at least $129 million.

   And we also are hearing that organized labor forces are pumping in over 10,000 "volunteers" and many millions of dollars to fight Ohio’s efforts to reduce the death-grip of the state’s public-employee unions. And Shila W. (NRW Committee) spotlights the worrisome fact that, "Recent reports from Madison (Wisconsin) indicate that they’re scheming to force capital police to remove the metal detectors installed after legislators received death threats and live ammunition was found."

   And who are the schemers, you might ask?  That’s right — it’s the unions.

   And The Blaze showed us (with videos) a Wisconsin protest against the governor at an event that helps mentally challenged youngsters.  "They dressed up like zombies and interrupted a Special Olympics event to trumpet their cause."  Let’s face it, they have no shame.

   And, as reported by The Wall Street Journal, "Current law gives unions an advantage in their ability to work covertly for months, quietly approaching employees to gather signatures for an election petition until springing the news on employers at the last minute."  And since the unions failed to pass the "card check" program through Congress, the unions went to Plan-B: "The National Labor Relations Board, which yesterday (June 21) delivered a plan for ‘quickie’ union elections designed to make organizing easier."

   And then, "The Obama administration said employers should disclose more information about consultants they hire to respond to union bargaining or organizing campaigns, a move long sought by organized labor and opposed by employers."  If all of this looks bad to you, you can be sure it most certainly is.

==========================

   In the minds of many in America, Eric Holder has turned the Attorney General’s office into what has been described as a place of lawless abandonment. His latest escapade (one of so many) is with his push toward shorter sentences for drug offenders.

   And, in other matters, The Daily Caller reports that the "Department of Justice may be committing obstructions of justice by ignoring a subpoena.  On April 1, Issa, House Oversight Committee chairman, subpoenaed all documents pertaining to two Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) programs, Project Gunrunner and Operation Fast and Furious."  The Justice Department has chosen not to respond.

   And Holder’s Justice Department has started law suits against businesses that the Department claims is imposing unnecessary documentary requirements on non-U.S. citizens.  In other words, leave the illegal aliens alone.

   So, when you take the time to add up all that Holder and his henchmen are doing, you cannot help but clearly see the lawless agenda that has become the order of the day.  Is there a chance he will ever be held accountable?  Fat chance.

==========================

   As with so many other things, "Obama turns his back on border security.  Why would Obama push for illegal amnesty, permit illegal alien sanctuary policies and attack states like Arizona for seeking to enforce the Rule of Law?"  That is one of the many questions being asked by the V.I.P. women’s group.

   Meanwhile, Middle American News reports that, "Left-wing activist, Robert Creamer, in his book, urges a strategy that will dilute white voting strength.  He says the Democrats who control Congress should grant amnesty to illegal aliens because it will enhance the political clout of left-wingers by increasing their voter base.  He writes, ‘The immigration battle is ... important because it will have enormous impact on the battle for power between the progressives and conservative forces in American society.’ "  As if you didn’t already know their true motivation, right?

   And how are things going at the border?  Pat Dollard (DHS) tells us, "Last year Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents’ union officials throughout the nation issued a unanimous no confidence vote in that agency’s director, John Morton, on behalf of ICE officers, agents and employees nationwide, citing gross mismanagement within the Agency, as well as efforts within ICE to create backdoor amnesty through agency policy.

   "Now, almost one year later, the law enforcement agents and their union haven’t changed their mind."  As further noted, "In a biting statement, ICE union leaders say that since the June 10, 2010 no confidence vote was first released, problems within their agency have increased, citing the director’s latest Discretionary Memorandum as just one example."

   And, as Grassfire Nation reports, "Working with both the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and elitist liberal Senators, President Obama is aggressively resurrecting the DREAM Act.  Fox News is reporting that Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) is holding the first-ever Senate hearing on the DREAM Act, in an attempt to convince fellow members of the Senate that ushering in widespread amnesty through the DREAM Act will ‘make our country stronger.’ "

 Stronger?  Well yes of course, if you are referring to an exclusively applied strength for the new quite-far-to-the-left Democratic party.

==========================

   We’ve all heard about that idiotically planned "sting" operation that was so poorly executed. It’s that ATF debacle that sent all those guns to the drug dealers in Mexico. Remember the headlines?  "Guns From U.S. Probe Surface in Mexico, Mexican Guns Tied to U.S., Top Brass Cited in Gun Sting, Emails Show ATF Director Involved in Troubled Operation Tied to Agent’s Death," — all from the WSJ.

   And then we also could read about "Objecting ATF agents told to fall in line in gun-running case," as seen in The Washington Times.  Astute observers have noticed that this whole business is just one more incident created by the generally dysfunctional appointments and staffing under the Obama regime. How unfortunate — for everyone.

==========================

   There are a few states that are fighting back with regard to this invasion of America.  As the Associated Press reported, "Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley has signed a tough new law cracking down on illegal immigration.  The bill allows police to arrest anyone suspected of being an illegal immigrant if they are stopped for any other reason."

   In the state of Maryland, a grass-roots movement is rising against taxpayer payed welfare for illegal aliens.  And the Supreme Court has actually upheld state laws that fine or close firms that wilfully hire illegal workers.

   And Oklahoma’s highest court has also upheld that state’s anti-illegal immigration law.  Yes, there is a growing movement on the state level, in spite of the arrant behavior of our federal government.

==========================

   As Congressman Peter T. King stated in a recent letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, "It is clear, violent actions taken by the Mexican drug cartels have evolved and are acts of terrorism.  These cartels should be classified as terrorist organizations."

   And what exactly is the official definition of terrorism and terrorist organizations?  Well, according to the U.S. Department of Defense it is officially described as:

   "The calculated use of unlawful violence or threat of unlawful violence to inculcate fear; intended to coerce or to intimidate governments or societies in the pursuit of goals that are generally political, religious, or ideological."  And, what a surprise, it also fits the recent behavior pattern of some of our current unions and their over-exuberant goons.  Don’t hold your breath waiting for Holder and his Justice Department to pick up on this.

==========================

   Now Frank Gaffney joins the growing chorus, based on extensive undercover investigations, to reveal that a number of American Mosques have become "Jihad incubators."  And Darla Dawald, the National Director of the Patriot Action Network reports on the growing threat of "Muslim-American radicalization in U.S. prisons,"as brought to light in a House Homeland Security Committee hearing.

   And The Blaze reports the video taped call to, "Buy guns and start shooting people — American al-Qaeda spokesman (Adam Gadahn) calls on Americans to carry out random, lone-wolf attacks."  And the Peoria Chronicle reports that, "Black youths march in Peoria (Illinois) screaming, ‘We need to kill all white people!’ "

   And after the concluding Glenn Beck TV program was attacked in just about every way possible, Mr. Beck shares an example of what he and his family have had to put up with on a very personal level.

   As reported, "What was supposed to be a nice evening in the park turned into a truly hostile free-for-all, as Glenn and his family attempted to watch a movie in New York’s Bryant Park last night.  Hoping to enjoy some time together, while taking in a showing of Hitchcock’s ‘The 39 Steps’ with his wife, Tania, and his daughter, Glenn and his family instead experienced an unfriendly and borderline violent scene.

   "At one point an angry moviegoer kicked a glass of wine into Tania’s back, and as she got up to walk away, a man shouted, ‘We hate conservatives here!’ "  Well, so much for the so-called kinder and gentler left.

==========================

   Obama’s announcement of his date-defined, accelerated withdrawal from Afghanistan has created a cascade of gleeful responses from just about all of the belligerent, extremist elements in the Middle East and around the world, as I am sure you are aware.  It has also encouraged the continuation and acceleration of the fundamentalist take-over of all Muslim nations that can be had and the serious development of aggressive conquests for the future.

   The Hezbollah take-over of the Lebanese Cabinet and the Iranian long-range missile tests are only the latest examples of this.  No matter how we might care to construct excuses and other justifications, our current government, more than anything else, shares a major portion of the blame for this and for what is coming.

==========================

   All indicators certainly do seem to show the Middle East coming apart at the seams, from Yemen and Tunisia to Libya and beyond.  We see Syrian internal violence on the rise.  We see domestic pressures growing in Iran.  And in Egypt, we see the violence increasing with increased injuries of over 1,000 in the streets.

   Also, the Muslim Brotherhood is rising to prominence in that nation, partly due to Obama’s recognition empowerment.  And we also see the new Egyptian leadership looking with great suspicion upon democratic grant support from America.  We wanted change?  Consider all of this to be part of that change.

==========================

   As you might imagine, Schiller — after the expose of NPR and her firing — was promptly hired by NBC.  The left takes care of its own (most of the time; if they’re high enough up).  And, speaking of NPR, they continue on in their left-leaning disposition, as if nothing ever happened (and with continuing taxpayer funding).

   Their latest outreach is with a substantial development of new website services to push on their affiliates.  Evidently when a misinformation service is exposed, the way to respond is to do all that is possible to spread the misinformation further.

   And, at this same time, we find a new "Nova" episode that has made a major point of being "politically correct."  It features an illegal alien from Mexico who becomes a successful physician in America.  This was deftly accomplished while artfully avoiding the many examples of drug smugglers and drunken aliens who have cost countless lives in our besieged nation.

   And what else is happening with our media?  The New York Times picks a new editor, the Gannett newspaper division sets up more layoffs, and other games of "musical chairs" continue on.  But of course, the continuing financial collapse of most metro papers is not followed by an editorial re-balance toward a more honest presentation.

   So the readership continues to decline as we read that ads for the Internet now surpass the ad-linage of our backsliding metropolitan newspapers.  I guess one can only say the press is getting exactly what it deserves.

==========================

   In other areas of our disgraced media, Warner Todd Huston writes on The Patriot Action Network that, "On June 9, MoveOn admitted using lies, subterfuge and fraud to ‘counter’ what they maintain is the wrong-headed thinking of Fox News."  And, evidently, for differences in opinion about climate issues, Bob Fertik, the president of Democrats.com, announced that, "...we’re demanding that Orbitz pull their ads from Fox now."

   Those are just a couple of examples.  But you knew this sort of thing was going to happen, didn’t you?  We told you this was part of a massive plan to put Fox down, once and for all.  Expect lots more of the same.

   And in still other areas of interest, as syndicated columnist Mona Charen tells us in The Washington Times, "The Republican candidates for president did a respectable job presenting themselves at the New Hampshire debate on June 13.  But there was one person on stage most viewers must have wished they could have voted out.

   "The moderator, John King, was bumptious, bullying, and with his ‘this or that’ game-show gimmick, stupefyingly trivial."  Well of course.  He is one of CNN’s best.  He’s good at that sort of shameful behavior.

   And, as Michele Bachmann wrote in a special open letter, "My announcement (to run for President) struck a nerve with Obama’s campaign.  In fact, just hours after my speech, the Obama machine released a dishonest attack on the constitutional conservative principles that will guide our campaign."

   And World Net Daily tells us, "A network promotional campaign being run this summer on the cable network and in movie theaters is raising eyebrows among some viewers who believe MSNBC is actively campaigning for Obama’s re-election."  And so it goes.

==========================

   And of course they’re still going after Sarah Palin. And some of it is downright dangerous.  As heard from a Daily Caller audio clip, the so-called comedian "Titus" in one of his more serious moments blurted out that, "I am going to literally — if she gets elected president — I am going to hang out on the grassy knoll all the time, just loaded and ready, because you know what?  It’s for my country.  It’s for my country.  If I got to sacrifice myself, it’s for my country."  Oh yeah, sure it is.

   And you remember all those scavengers who went to Alaska when Palin’s emails were released?  They couldn’t find any dirt (Isn’t that a shame?)  But what they did find, as reported in The World News in the UK, "The release of 24,000 pages of Sarah Palin’s emails shows that she received a barrage of abusive emails. ... including death threats."  So much for the gentler side of the liberal establishment.

   And in other areas, CNN’s Fareed Zakaria, one of the President’s advisors and a friend of George Soros, unleashed an unbelievable rant in which he argued that the Constitution needs to be tossed out in order to start over, and we should emulate what they are doing in Iceland.  They are rewriting their constitution with the help of people on Twitter and Facebook."  You’ve got to be kidding.  Are there no adults left anywhere?

==========================

Meghan Cox Girdon shares Amy Freeman’s comments with us in The Wall Street Journal.  "She had popped into a bookstore to pick up a welcome-home gift for her 13-year-old, who had been away.  Hundreds of lurid and dramatic covers stood on the racks before her, and there was, she felt, ‘nothing, not a thing, that I could imagine giving my daughter.  It was vampires and suicide and self-mutilation.’ "

   And you should see some of the new teen and pre-teen TV shows, and the video games, and on and on it goes.  We have become one damn sick society and the liberal establishment is who made it all possible, knowing you and others would probably not do anything all that substantial to keep it from happening.

   Of course the question remains, what are you going to do about it now?

==========================

   This springtime has given us a hopefully forgettable Weiner roast that we are all so very much aware of (whether we want to be or not).  Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner was a very nasty, abrasive personality that even alienated many in his own party.  He was a real piece of work which became even more blatant and reprehensible when it was revealed he was sending very irresponsible messages on the Internet to young women (evidently including at least one or more under age).

   Some of these messages were found to be very sexual in nature and sometimes included naked and near-naked images of himself — not a pleasant thought to be sure.  Mr. Weiner’s immediate response was to say he had been "hacked."  Then he said he never sent any such photograph.  Then he said he couldn’t really say whether the person in the picture was really him.  Then he said he’d hired a private security company to find out what happened.

   Then he holds a special press conference to further reinforce these and similar claims.  And of course the left-wing media rallied behind him — all the way from Joy Behar to even Barbara Walters who said, "He can be very sarcastic and very sardonic and, as you know, there are a lot of times you wish he would not say it.  He is a good Congressman.

"He has been an effective Congressman and if Sarah Palin can still ride about in her bus and be considered as a possible President, this man can override this; stay in Congress."  Others were less diplomatic.  Chris Matthews tried to blame Weiner’s wife.  Howard Kurts said, "...the whole thing appears to be faked."  The Daily Kos felt Weiner was set up and smeared to somehow protect Clarence Thomas.

   And on and on went this juggling act of ridiculous clowns.  Then, as the evidence grew to a resounding crescendo,  Weiner finally admitted his guilt to the whole nasty business.  But, as you might imagine, he refused to resign.  After all that’s a Republican thing to do, right?  Such immoral behavior is much more accepted within the Democratic ranks.

   Even so, this time, because he was so disliked, even within his own ranks, and because the presidential election was looming, a number of Democrats reluctantly decided to join the call for his resignation. (Of course they wouldn’t censure him in Congress or otherwise punish him.)

   Finally, the pressure was so great that he decided to resign from the House of Representatives.  And then, to top it off and, hopefully put a fitting conclusion to it all, we added our contribution to the issue with a little limerick that we helped to craft and disseminate across the Internet.  It went like this:

"There was this progressive named Weiner,

Who had a decidedly liberal demeanor.

Forced from the Hill,

For acting like Bill,

Now Congress is one Weiner leaner."

   It would be nice if that was really the last word, but unfortunately, it would seem to be that Weiner’s Congressional pension, which you and I pay for, will probably top $1 million.  Isn’t that nice?

==========================

   Fraud is alive and well and getting ready for the coming election.  So it would seem.  As Charlice reports for The Patriot Action Network, "Startling results from an ongoing investigation reveal that the City of Chicago uses non-citizens to supervise and operate some of Chicago’s early voting polling places. Investigations uncovered at least 6 non-citizens supervising or working at early voting sites (so far).

   "Investigators also found that 65 different employees, or 1 out of 4 workers at early voting sites, administered elections without declaring their eligibility to work, on federal I-9 forms.  (The I-9 is the mandated Federal Employee Eligibility Verification form.)  These workers have the authority of an election judge at the early voting polls."

   Another problem was highlighted by Robert Knight in The Washington Times.  He pointed out that ACORN may be gone, but it has been reborn as a number of new groups, under new names.

   Also, Chuck Neubauer, in the same newspaper, has revealed that, "A small tax-exempt political group with ties to wealthy liberals, like billionaire financier George Soros, has quietly helped elect 11 reform-minded progressive Democrats as secretaries of state to oversee the election process in battleground states."  It allows the left to, "...put Democrats in charge of state election offices, where key decisions often are made in close races on which ballots are counted and are not counted."

==========================

   Some are calling a number of current questionable political moves (some of which we have shown you) to be a part of a master plan to steal the election and establish permanent control of the American government system.  That’s what we hear from many sources and that’s what we are beginning to see evidence of.

   And it continues on as we find a California commission for the redrawing of legislative districts releasing a proposed boundary map that greatly upsets and further reduces the Republican minority and has some Latino groups somewhat unhappy as well.  This has been in a few papers.  You may have read about it.

   In another area, a new national effort has been launched that I am sure we are all going to want to keep an eye on.  As reported by WND reporter, Aaron Klein, "A new movement led by Communist revolutionary group founder Van Jones seeks to counter the tea party while petitioning for a progressive agenda."  As further revealed, "The organization, dubbed ‘The American Dream Movement,’ is partnered with a slew of radical groups funded by billionaire George Soros."  Enough said.

==========================

   This writer has seen an outline of what is supposed to be the progressive/socialist areas of action and expected success.  I also have Dr. Walter Williams areas of concern for this coming election, and other bits and pieces that seem to be a part of the picture as well.

   It all seems to suggest that minorities of color can continue to be herded into the Democratic pen as usual, as will many women who have been successfully educated to react in the appropriate "politically correct" manner, as will most Democrats and union leadership (while always applying pressure on their membership).

   A number of big businesses can be expected to be in Obama’s camp, after all, the bail-outs are most certainly not going to be forgotten.  And we already know where most of the media stands, don’t we?  And, as Dr. Williams noted, "The overwhelming majority of Jews and Muslims will vote Democratic because they won’t vote Republican," (no matter what is being done to them by this administration).

   And let us not forget the newly minted young adults, fresh from the intensive progressive training in our educational system.  These are all formidable elements to try and reason with, made especially difficult by two key factors.  The progressive way is much more about feeling, not reasoning.  The second factor is the dominant predisposition for the exclusion of considerations of anything that might disagree with that which has become deeply ingrained as the only acceptable truths.

   However, as hopeless as all of this may seem, let us also realize that most human beings can have overriding reactions to events that seriously threaten their wallets.  In other words, the condition of the economy just might make a difference.

   So there you have it.  This is what must be dealt with.  This is the reality.

==========================

   As that great investigative reporter, Michelle Malkin, tells us in The Washington Times, "According to a new General Accounting Office audit conducted over the past year, nearly 4,000 stimulus recipients received $24 billion in Recovery Act Funds, while owing more than $750 million in unpaid corporate, payroll and other taxes."  This includes federal contractors, grant winners, social services groups, and just about every other format imaginable.

   And let’s not forget our elected politicians.  As Valerie Richardson reports in that same paper, "An extensive study released May 25 in the journal Business and Politics found that the investments of members of the House of Representatives outperformed those of the average investor by 55 basis points per month, or 6 percent annually, suggesting that lawmakers are taking advantage of inside information to fatten their stock portfolios."

   And, in the same publication, Stephen Dinan tells us that, "More than 100 employees of the Internal Revenue Service cheated the government by fraudulently claiming a first-time homebuyer tax credit included in the 2008 and 2009 economic stimulus packages, according to federal investigators."

   In so many areas it would most certainly seem we have disreputable government operations that are fast becoming exceptionally dishonest.  If this pace continues it will become increasingly difficult for the corrupt politicians to keep up.

   Pat Archbold, in the NC Register, tells us that, "If there were any question what type of blood runs through the veins of the Democrat party, this piece should answer the question.  Abortion money is the life-blood of the Democrat party.  Not only were the Democrats willing to shut down the entire federal government to keep taxpayer money flowing to Planned Parenthood, not only is the Obama administration willing to cut of Medicaid funding for millions of poor people in Indiana to keep the money flowing to Planned Parenthood; but now, in a shocking development, we find that the Congresswoman selected by the Democrat party to recruit candidates for Congress (Rep. Allyson Schwartz) founded, owned and operated an abortion clinic."  How nice for them, but not quite so nice for the unborn children.

   And yes, there are those who are fighting back, such as noted in USA Today with the news that "Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels said he will (and did) sign a controversial bill that cuts off government funding to Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider."

   And then the Urban Christian News reported that, "Republican state representatives in North Carolina voted to override Democratic Gov. Bev Perdue’s veto of the state budget Wednesday morning, ensuring that a provision to strip all federal and state money from Planned Parenthood will take effect on July1.  North Carolina is now the third state, after Indiana and Kansas, to defund the family planning provider because it also provides abortions."

   And, as we found out, that organization, in at least some parts of the country seems also available to help pimps to keep their girls "serviceable."

   The federal government and many of the courts continue to do all they can to control our lives.  We see an Illinois court decision that forces a private company (American Airlines) to do business with whom they designate (Orbitz).  And we see federal authorities pushing forward with their coming mandate to forcibly replace incandescent bulbs with the more dangerous, mercury-laden fluorescents.  And we have seen how government agencies have sometimes even dictated salaries and bonuses in the private sector.

   However, there are signs that a few are willing to fight back.  As Fox News reported, "State lawmakers have passed a bill that allows Texans to skirt federal efforts to promote more efficient light bulbs, which ultimately pushes the swirled, compact flourescent bulbs over the 100-watt incandescent bulbs many grew up with.

   "The measure, sent to Gov. Rick Perry for consideration, lets any incandescent light bulb manufactured in Texas — and sold in that state — to avoid the authority of the federal government and the repeal of the 2007 energy independence act that starts phasing out some incandescent light bulbs next year."

   There are many other examples of "big brother" taking over, and precious few examples of serious resistance.  More resistance is hoped for but time is running out.

   Once again we get the word, this time from the National Assessment of Educational Progress.  They are telling us that in almost all grade school levels, national tests show little to no progress in the most basic fundamentals of American history.

   These are the youngsters who will be voting in just a few years and they have little to no understanding about our revolution, our founding fathers, the basic concepts of our republic, or our role in world history, present or past.  But of course we are working hard in many schools to advise students of both sexes that they can be boys or girls or both and to offer special classes in racially-based revolutionary ideas and to have text books that demonize free-enterprise, and all manner of other "special" educational opportunities.

   On the higher levels of education we find a little progress.  A few dorms are being returned to single-sex residency.  The irresponsible drinking and promiscuous behavior were totally out of control (something we had predicted would happen).

   There is also that movie that so few ever saw, "Waiting For Superman."  As reviewed by The Patriot Action Network: "The movie exposes how America’s public education system is about keeping the teachers’ unions fat and happy at the expense of our kids."

   If you consider nothing else, please realize that our kids are going to make or break our nation.  It will be up to them.

   The disintegration in the American educational system (no matter how much money we throw at the problem) is now beginning to gain some serious responses.  As Jeb Bush (former Gov. of Florida) and Joel Klein (a former chancellor of education — now with News Corp.) presented thoughts worthy of consideration in The Wall Street Journal.

   Among the comments made: "America’s economic strength and standing in the world economy are directly linked to our ability to equip students with the knowledge and skills to succeed in the 21st century. ... Yet in all but a few states, current academic standards of educational performance are too low."  And further noted, "Three-fourths of students entering college are not adequately prepared academically."

   Solutions?  Among others, "New standards demand new measurements for achieving them."  One action taken: In Michigan we now find that the worst performing public schools have been taken over by the state, with the goal of turning them around within 5 years.

   And now Bill Gates is seeking a winning formula he may be willing to help apply.  Among other realizations, Bill and Melinda Gates feel that seriously improving the effectiveness of teachers may be a key to fixing the system.  (We might suggest, starting with the teachers’ colleges and then with continuing education while teaching.)

   Even the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is getting into the act with its suggestion that Congress really reform the federal educational policies with priorities that are believed to be absolutely necessary.  As the Chamber’s report notes, "By rewarding longevity over performance, tenure policies often hamstring local officials’ ability to ensure that students have access to the most effective teachers."

   And now Richard Vedder, a professor of economics at Ohio University (who also is the Director of the Center for College Affordability) has come up with an amazing idea.  He has the nerve to suggest that faculty members with low teaching loads (and there are many) should have their classroom involvement significantly increased.  He has found that to do so might cut student tuition almost in half.

   What a novel thought — teachers who teach.  Who would have ever thought of such a thing?  Well, Professor Vedder did.  Maybe it’s worth considering?

   Religion in America continues under siege.  A recent al-Qaeda video is encouraging Muslims to attack religious institutions, such as Christian churches. Consider yourself warned.  They really mean it.

   Elsewhere, Atlas Shrugs reveals that, "The Houston National Cemetery has told veterans and volunteers that they can no longer use the words ‘God,’ ‘God bless,’ or ‘Jesus’ at any and all funerals or in condolence cards." They claim that such words are "offensive."  And, as Fox News reports, "A federal judge has ordered a Texas school district to prohibit public prayer at a high school graduation ceremony."

   But let me tell you, the backlash is growing.  A federal appeals court has overturned the earlier prohibition on such a prayer at a graduation at Medina Valley High School in Texas.  And, after two purposeful exclusions of the words "under God" from our Pledge of Allegiance by NBC during its coverage of the U.S. Open golf tournament, the network was pressured sufficiently enough to publically apologize.

   You see?  Sometimes good things happen when you are willing to respond — are willing to fight back.

==========================

   Fox News told us about "Semper No" — The Pennsylvania Marine barred from wearing her uniform at her high school graduation.  " ‘Once a Marine, always a Marine’ apparently doesn’t apply at a Pennsylvania high school where a 17-year-old graduate has been told she cannot wear her uniform when she receives her diploma.

   "Lindsay Starr told KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh, she wanted to wear her dress blues during her graduation ceremony at North Allegheny High School in Pittsburgh, but that school officials denied her request."  She told the TV reporter that, "There should be no reason for them to say no.  They don’t have to do anything.  I come in my uniform, shake hands, get my diploma and it’s over."

   Of course it’s that simple, unless you’re an educational system with an ideological bias.

   Another good example of such problems might be as reported by the British Daily Mail.  "A 77-year-old Army veteran is being threatened with legal action for flying the American flag in his front yard.  Fred Quigley, of Macedonia, Ohio, a retired Army chaplain and minister who served active duty during the Vietnam War, has been told his flag violates his homeowners’ association’s rules on flagpoles."

   As further reported, "Mr. Quigley said: ‘It’s the principle.  It’s about patriotism, and the soldiers I’ve had to hold as they were dying.  It’s just important to me to be bold with the flag.  If they can dictate to me that I cannot fly an American flag in America, then to me, the country’s lost.’ "

   As also noted, "This is not the first time that homeowners have clashed with a homeowners’ association over the right to display the flag.  In Idaho, the dispute ended in a public apology from an association that prohibited flags in ‘common areas.’ "

   One cannot help but wonder about the mental processes of those who cause such problems as this, as well as so many others, as with violent entertainment, the killing of late-term, unborn babies, public financial irresponsibility, filthy behavior, drug legalization and so many other unfathomable positions.  And, have you noticed? — Almost without exception, it’s a living part of the day-to-day function of the liberal/progressive/socialist agenda. I wonder why that is.

==========================

   "Long before NBC Sports edited the Pledge of Allegiance, the city of Eugene, Oregon was busy debating if their City Council should recite it before each bi-monthly meeting.  At the June 7th meeting of the council, a proposal was floated by Councilor Mike Clark, suggesting that every bi-monthly meeting start with a recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.

   " ‘The Columbian’ reports that Mayor Kitty Piercy (a lead sponsor of Code Pink’s latest anti-war resolution) and others did not agree with this idea, suggesting that reciting the pledge might be ‘divisive.’ "  This was a Blaze release posted by Mike Opelka and it points out yet another of so many subtle and not so subtle attacks on American patriotism.  Something to think about.

==========================

   There are a few who, by their behavior and their goals, strongly suggest what we can only describe as a genuinely evil nature.  Such a person certainly seems to be this next individual.  As Fox news chronicles, "Billionaire George Soros spends tens of millions each year supporting a range of liberal, social and political causes, from drug legalization to immigration reform, to gay marriage, to the death penalty.  But a less well-known Soros priority — replacing elections for judges with selection-by-committee — now has critics accusing him of trying to stack the courts."

   Well of course.  The socialist/progressives have been doing all that they can in that area for many years now.  And it would seem that more times than not, they have been successful.  And now with Soros money behind the effort — watch out!  That man has broken currencies and brought down governments (in so many ways and by so many means) and now he’s aimed in our direction.  You have been warned.

   Judicial watch has released documents that carefully and clearly describe what is identified as an extensive collusion by Federal Communications Commission officials with a known left-wing advocacy group in a campaign to greatly expand government control over the Internet.  See Judicial Watch for full details and watch out for the results that follow what is happening.

   David Eldridge writes in The Washington Times: "Robert M. McDowell, one of two Republican appointees on the Commission who voted against the FCC’s so-called ‘Open Rules of the Road’ for the Internet, warned that the regulations threaten to stifle innovation in the tech sector of the American economy."

   And Steve Titch also added in the same publication, "What most Americans don’t realize is that if the government wants to read your emails, look at your pictures or gain access to any data that you have stored online for more than 180 days on sites including Yahoo, Google, Docs, and online backup sites, it can do so without a search warrant."

   No, this is not something that might happen — this has happened.  Big brother is here!

   With the light bulb police soon to be on the prowl and countless other "green" restrictions kicking in, Professor Ian Plimer’s observation is most interesting. "The volcanic eruptions in Iceland, since its first spewing of volcanic ash has, in just four days, negated every single effort you have made in the past five years to control CO2 emissions on our planet."  Thank you Anna Dewey (of the V.I.P. women’s group) for bringing this to our attention.

   Another observation, this time by Justen Charters on the Patriot Action Network, who shows us what some have in mind. "Head of the Oregon Global Warming Commission for our energy problems (public presentation):  Public transit run by unions.  An ultimate redistribution of wealth.  And he refuses to answer questions coming from an opposing opinion even though he said before that it was an open discussion."

   And he also added, "Oh, and this event was sponsored by The Apollo Alliance.  Van Jones and the Stimulus Package ring a bell?"  Oh yes.  He’s that fellow, who in so proud and public a way, was very quick to inform everyone about his being a Communist.  And we know about the Apollo Project, right?  And we once again see how honest planetary husbandry has been hijacked by the left for political purposes.  A real shame.
